This Sephora is tucked inside the dying JC Penny Department store which can be found in the hollow halls of the decaying Colin Creek Mall. I stumbled upon it completely by accident. My intention was to get a chair massage at the deserted mall with a majority of storefronts shuttered. After doing that, I decided to walk around and reminisce about the heyday of indoor malls like this and wonder why the hell people in Texas want to have outdoor malls where they have to endure the heat and humidity.
I found myself inside JC Penny standing in front of a cosmetic display for Bare Minerals. A Sephora employee warmly greeted me and struck up a conversation about the skin care line and what I was seeking. In truth, I wasn't looking for anything, but I suddenly found myself sitting in front of a mirror receiving a free consultation and makeover. I was introduced to a variety of skin care lines that piqued my interest within the Sephora store. The technician I worked with provided tips and suggestions for makeup application as she did up half of my face so I could see the amazing transformation. She seemed very knowledgeable about several of the skin cleaning and hydration lines because she was or had been using them herself.
Somehow I managed to walk out of Sephora having spent $150, but I must admit the skin on my face is already so much calmer and not irritated due to the change in the skin cleaning line I picked up here. I feel better, and I can't really put a price cap on health and happiness. read more
