What happened to me today at K Beauty Supply has not happened in many years. Yet, there I was with my daughter, to purchase hair for a braid appointment. It took me a minute to realize that the man who was behind the counter was now next to us pretending to look at hair products. He actually looked ridiculous. No Asian man is going to be shopping for braid hair. That's why I noticed him. That's when I realized he was FOLLOWING us. We were there early; there was no one else in the store. Once we decided what we were getting and went up to the counter, the man miraculously appeared back at the front of the store. I realize the fact that some people steal and business owners must protect their inventory, but DO NOT insult your customers by obviously watching and following them through the store. They have cameras throughout the store. Discretion is key. He could've asked if we needed help finding something. K Beauty Supply lost another customer. read more

I don't frequent beauty supply stores often but all the ones I've visited between El Paso, Austin and Dallas, this has to be the worst service ever. I've been coming to this location since I was a little girl. The staff has always been loyal and made sure that the specific product I use are in stock. I see many reviews saying they have bad customer service however I disagree. Many of the clientele that walk thru those doors are satisfied. For the few that made that filled out a review, I think you maybe had a bad experience. Sometime the customer isn't in the right. So I came in because I haven't been into a beauty supply store like this in awhile .. I have been going to Ulta. I wanted a half wig and when I went to try it on the older Asian woman with short hair "helping" me followed me and my niece all over the wig section like I was going to steal something.. then when I wanted to try on wigs which I only tried on the max of 3 she rolled her eyes at me and was getting irritated when I asked what color they had in the back. Instead of her waiting for me to tell her what color I wanted she went back there on her own and brought whatever wig out. Their wig selection is very small it's all the way in the back of the store and you can definitely find better wigs for a better price elsewhere. And deff better customer service.. won't ever be coming back here again. read more

I was confused so I called once more to make sure there wasn't an error, but no answered afterwards. It's strange because after one ring the first call, someone had answered. Really love this shop. Good prices and helpful attendants. Tons of selection on hair and accessories - both great options from economy to top line. Spent like 45 minutes trying to decide between hair and they were very helpful and then left me alone so I could walk around more while I debated the options. Didn't feel rushed or that they were suspicious of me at all. Been back and same experience. Always immediately helped and offered advice and then left to my own devices while looking. If I could give this place one star, I would. I bought products last night, and upon my purchase I asked the cashier about the return policy since its not printed on the receipt. The cashier last night told me that the return policy was 90 days. So today on my lunch I went to return 1 of the 3 items I purchased. The rude gentleman at the cash register rudely told me NO RETURNS. He said "Its not just you, its everyone". Is that supposed to make me feel better? This location is right by my job so I pop in on my lunch break or after work for things. First, they have a great selection of everything! Literally, they have extensions, wigs, hair care products, makeup, jewelry, and accessories. Second, I have always experienced great customer service here. The staff knows where everything is and is happy to help. I love that they carry NYX makeup which I love and tons of hair accessories at reasonable prices. Highly recommend. read more

If I could give them 0 stars, I would!! They have by far the worst customer service this side of Dallas. I'm a stylist and I live about 5 minutes aawy from this store, so I would frequent it very often and direct my clients there as well. Usually, I never had a problem here because most of the time I was coming in to fetch something specific for a client and then leaving. Anyway, after months of transitioning to natural hair, I was ready to start buying natural hair products. Well, as most of you know, there are plenty of options once you enter a BSS. On my first trip, I thought I knew the product that I was going to get, but right next to it...a different product caught my eye. Being a stylist, it is important for me to at least do a quick search of the product to see what others thought about it. So I went ahead and googled a review of the product and as I'm reading (no more than 5 minutes of standing at the same spot)....one of the Asian men comes up to me and asks if I need help with some serious attitude. I politely told him no and quickly explained that I was just reading a few reviews of the products I was holding before deciding on one. Then he went ahead and told me that I should "study at home." I honestly thought it was a joke and tried to laugh it off....but I realized that he wasn't laughing and I actually asked him if he was serious....and yes, he told me again to go and study at home!!!!!!! I was utterly disgusted and went ahead and mentioned this to one of the regular attendants that I usually deal with and she told me that it was just that one particular guy who has an attitude issue. I choose to let it slide because on my numerous trips here, I had never had a problem and assumed that this was just an isolated incident. BUT.....of course, it wasn't. I went back this afternoon to browse for a new conditioner and hairpiece. After getting the conditioner that I thought was best, I had the my regular attendant direct me to the wig section to check out the hair extensions that I wanted because it is the ONLY place in the whole store that they have a full length mirror. So I'm sitting there with the ponytail piece in hand checking to see how the length looks when one of the Asian ladies comes over and VERY RUDELY tells me that this section is only for wigs! And I'm thinking WTH? So of course, once again, I politely explain that I wanted to see how the hairpiece looks and that I was directed to that mirror by an attendant. I couldn't have been there for more than 3 minutes or so. I then asked her if my being there was a problem and she actually went ahead and said yes. Mind you, there were only about 3 other patrons in the store...they should be grateful for the customers. So overall, this is my last time going to this store because the customer service is horrendous. As a stylist who directs so many clients their way and as an African woman who spends a ton of money on hair products, I refuse to spend another dime on a place that does not value my business. In all fairness, the tall Asian lady who works at the counter and the African American attendant who does the wig fittings, are extremely nice and its always pleasant to work with them. But the other two attendants are obnoxious, rude and extremely unhelpful! FOR A STORE THAT HAS 3 OTHER COMPETITORS DOWN THE ROAD WITHIN 1/2 MILE distance, they sure know how to piss off their loyal clients. They have a wide variety of products such as babyliss styling tools, sew-in extensions, etc. however their customer service is absolutely disgusting. It was my first visit in and just got a acknowledged look that a customer was here from the lady behind the counter rather than a simple hello or welcome. I was looking around for it being my first time here and 5 minutes in, the same lady was asking if I was looking for something to which I replied that no I'm just looking around. After that between a couple minutes span, she kept asking what I was looking for and where was I from.. I was confused why she was asking me so much questions. To my surprise she told me to leave the establishment if I was just going to loiter around. I questioned back in my defense and apparently she took me as a beauty supply competitor or a business man who was up to trouble. I just told her I'm just a customer who is just looking around the place because it was my first time here. She shut up and walked away without any apology or anything. Still, it makes no sense to me why she couldn't just have asked me if I was even one when she first suspected me of anything. Everything about her attitude toward me was so condescending and rude.. either she needs to find something plug up that nasty attitude thats coming out her rear end or the place needs to consider replacing her. read more

Approximately three months ago, I bought a Vivica Fox supposedly human hair wig for $133.00 from this store. On yesterday I gently swirled the wig in cold water with shampoo and conditioner. After I finished washing and conditioning the wig I tried combing it with a big tooth comb but couldn't it was too tangled. It was if the wig wasn't real, human hair that is. I had not applied anything to the wig that should've damaged it. I called K's Beauty Supply and explained to him what had happened. He suggested I purposely did something to the wig to damage it. I called him an idiot because why would I do that? I told him I paid $133,00 for a wig that was supposed to be 100% human hair!!! I need Vivica Fox to know and examine this piece of trash I bought with her name typed on the label. I will never buy from this RIP OFF store or buy another Vivica Fox wig again. Monday morning I'm calling Jennifer and talk to her about getting another wig for the price of this fake wig. PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE. I've been going here for almost 6 years, however the last few experiences I've had have left me dumbfounded. I've witnessed them accuse black women of stealing when they weren't several times, and when proven wrong, they shrug it off. The treat their customers, black women in particular, like traSh. I can no longer support their disgusting racist business and I don't suggest you do. A few alternatives are gold 7. It's on Parker and 75, literally 3 mins away from K's. staff is very friendly CRAZY GOOD selection of everything. It is at least double in size. Queens beauty supply on Parker and ALMA is amazing. I live in Frisco and have been coming to this location a little over three years. I generally try to go to the black owned beauty supply in Frisco, but I can't get all of my products there. So, sometimes I must make an exception and drive across town. They've, for the most part, been cordial with the exception of a few times that they've acted as though them selling their products to me was a benevolent favor. Today however, took the cake. I headed that way after work to stock up on products, and I check google to ensure they will be open. According to google, the store closes at 8:30. I had about 35 minutes until close. I drive all the way over there, and get there around 8:20. As I go to open the door, The older gentlemen, for lack of a better word; tugs the door shut as I go to open it while simultaneously flipping the open sign to closed. The entire time looking at me in my face with this dismissive deadpan expression. Mind you, it's not even closing time. He looked at me as if I were a piece of trash floating past his store rather than a well-paying customer. He locked the door and walked away. I will NEVER spend another dime in this store again. I am convinced that due to it being a predominately black area, with a meager and struggling socio-economic demographic; these people feel as though the people they serve are less than and not worth treating like respectable human beings. I, at this point, would rather drive to two different beauty supplies to get what I need rather than drive across town to this one and spend my hard earned money with people who seem to think they are better than the community they serve. read more
