Horrible experience I feel very disappointed in how management thinks they could fool you. I had a very bad experience. I went shopping to this Sephora first time ever at the northridge fashion mall. I was helped by a pregnant girl for a color match which I though they did with a scanner/camera which she didn't even use that I told her I wanted to try out the tarts water base foundation she basically just looked at the color and picked one for me I said yes to it because that's what she told me went with me. Anyways as I was going to pay I came across an urban decay mist spray it was sample size so thought I would try it out. When the cashier said she could help me I gave her my stuff I had a brush the tarte cover up water base and a benefit cosmetics primer. As I was going to pay I asked the girl if I can redeem some of my rewards she said yes they had a Tory burch on display and I asked if I can smell it she went around the counter and she helped me I liked how it smelled so I told her I would take it. When she gave me my total which was 134$ I was a little thrown off because I thought it was a little too much but then that's where I messed up I didn't check my receipt till I got home the cashier charged me for a tarte 12hr foundation in the color tan $39.00 as soon as I realized I called the store spoke to the manager and she told me they were going to check the footage and call me back. Today she called me back and told me the footage showed the item was placed in my bag and I walked out of the store with it. I checked every single bag I had that day and this item was not found within my belongings. I don't want to make assumptions but the girl that charged me either did a price check on this item and forgot to remove it or she scanned it and put it in another bag or even kept it for herself since she was tan just like the foundation that was charged and I know the color it was because my sephora app shows the items I have purchased there and the color was really dark I'm fair skin so that's something I explained to the manager her conclusion to my bad experience was to have me look through my things again and check if it was found. So I did and i never got that item I explained to her that I live in Palmdale and there was no way I was going to go all the way again to northridge to get my money back if I was even going to get it back since that's how much I would waste in gas I explained it was very inconvenient and I felt very disappointed and upset I wanted my money in a gift card and mailed to my home this review is for the customers out there to please check your receipt before you step out I posted this review on to sephora corporate office I hope the footage was really looked at I'm pretty sure someone stoled it and charged me for it. read more

Walked in, wasn't greeted, wasn't offered a basket, no one approached me. I looked around the store got an item...tried approaching 3 employees who were helping other customers, they saw me & didn't make an effort to even tell me that they were helping someone but would find someone to help me or anything. I didn't want to interrupt anyone so I went to the section where they did make up & waited... at least 5 employees passed me by. I was obviously standing waiting for help along with 3 other ppl. An employee finishes w a customer & says anyone else waiting for a color match? Some girl says yes, I say "me too" & follow the lady that makes me fill in a sign in sheet & i tell her i had been waiting & she assumed it was for the Rihanna foundation. I tell her no that it didn't have to be that one I just wanted to try a new foundation that matched me better then the one I had now. She didn't even ask which one & just took me to the Laura Mercier Rep. which wasn't busy...lucky for me the foundation matched me & she was helpful. The rest of the service was bad! I understand maybe some employees were busy bc of the new Rihanna foundation, but all the other employees walking around could be bothered? Not coming to this location again. read more

Horrible service. They do not help you at all unless they think you have money. I wanted to get Bare Minerals BB Cream. And one lady told me I should get a lotion instead and not to get it.Or something near the checkout. Basically saying that what I could afford. Also I stayed in the store to see if someone would help me and there is about 10 people working there and only like 6 of them had a client and the others were not doing shit. Oh and by the end after I finished talking to the lady who recommended me the lotion I had to go outside to meet my brother. I heard the lady that was at the door telling whoever of her headphone set that "she's leaving" to another employee. I recommend going to Macy's because the people there are way more nicer. I never enjoy going to this Sephora, the workers are not there to help you rather to chat to their co workers. The workers are rude and refused to help me claiming they were "busy", all they were doing was standing around. I go to this location because it is the one nearest to me however I will be driving further now to get better and helpful service. Also if you are in the Northridge mall I suggest going to the Sephora in JC Penny the workers are much more helpful and genuine there. read more

If I could give this place -1 I would . I went to the sephora inside mall not the one that was inside jc penny . Customer service here is HORRIBLE I gave Sephora so many chances but today was my last one I'm done with Sephora they lost my business. I wanted to ask a question to one of workers and she saw me coming her way she IGNORED me and walk away. I then ask another worker if they had this make up kit I was looking for and she sent me to Disney store . UGH I specifically told her it was for a 18 year old . I think cause I was carrying my 6 month old and holding my two year old hand and the lady wanted to send us to Disney store . I felt discriminated because she sent me to Disney store because of kids . So then I ask another one of workers for help and she put me on waiting list I was literally there for ONE hour waiting and i saw 5 EMPLOYEES doing nothing just chit chatting about there weekend and FLIRTING with SECURITY guy from mall . I couldn't stay any longer it was just to much my kids were already bored and I had to get out . But yes this was my Horrible experience and every time I go there there always something with there CUSTOMERS SERVICE I should have just gone with my gut and not go there any more ESPECIALLY after reading so many BAD REVIEWS and seeing videos on YOU TUBE about them. Worst Sephora location I have ever encountered. I was ignored and looked over by every single employee until I opened a drawer on my own and got snapped at and asked if I needed help. After looking for someone to help me for over 20 min I decided to look in the drawer under display to see if I could find what I was looking for on my own. This location was out of almost everything. Their stock is not kept up, the employees are awful, customer service was awful .. I walked out really disappointed. read more

Amber was actually really helpful with the Skin IQ thing and recommending a couple of products. At first when I walked in, I was just browsing for perfume before I realized that I actually do need makeup. Since I'd already told all the people who asked if I needed help that I didn't, and they were busy, they never looked my way again, except to treat me like I was in their way (I had a double stroller with me which is roughly the width of a plain wheelchair and I kept it in the open spaces because 1. I didn't want to be in the way and 2. I have 2 toddlers and Sephora keeps expensive stuff, toxic stuff, and colorful within their reach- I'm not trying to say it's a bad thing that they do, it's just motivation to keep the stroller out of the aisles). I barely got any kind of "excuse me" before sales people were reaching over my kids for perfume and makeup- apparently in too much of a rush for human decency. Since I'm not the type to physically grab someone when they're helping another customer (even when they're dangling 5 pound glass bottles shaped like murder weapons over my babies' heads), eventually I just took up a spot near the beauty counter and waited. Amber came to the rescue and did the foundation match, applied it on me and even found a great blush as well as trying out a couple bronzers (but I don't really feel like they made a difference) and some eyebrow cream that I kind of regret not spending the $25 for. Even so, it took a little more prompting than it probably should have after I said "I'm taking 2 vacations and getting married in the next couple of months. I don't wear makeup daily but I need to look good in pictures, I'm ready to go all out." When I got to the checkout, the cashier didn't ask if anyone helped me but since I heard a few of the people who helped with foundation matching and other stuff call it to the front, I assumed that Amber had too. So when she walked up and asked the cashier if she put it in, the cashier said "no, I'll do it now" and then looked at me like I was a jerk. I also spent over $130 and left with no samples or offers of of samples. Long story short- they were busy but they really could have taken the time to check in and make it a good experience. I'll be doing my Sephora shopping at other stores and online from now on.The last time I was at this location, they weren't particularly helpful or friendly either. read more

I wasn't aware of Sephora's return policy until recently, so I went to return some products that I had purchased, but only used once because they reacted badly with my skin thinking that everything would go smoothly. I had my purchase history, my ID, and my Beauty Insider card and the products that I was returning which were full. When I got to the register I told the employee my situation and I showed her my purchase history and she took my Beauty Insider card. She said she couldn't find the items in my purchase history and she even called her manager over who also said she couldn't find the items in my purchase history. This didn't make any sense because I had proof of where and when I purchased the products in my Sephora app which is linked to my Beauty Insider account. The manager eventually said that I couldn't return my items because I bought them more than a year ago and the receipts only go back a year. I purchased the items in 2014 and I had my purchase history for them to see. No where on Sephora's return policy does it say that that is a valid excuse to not return items. The employee and her manager seemed like they were just unwilling to return my items. read more

I always leave this store so upset but I always come back. That's because it's the only Sephora in my area and right next door to where I work. So take it from me when I say their customer service is terrible. I always have to go out of my way to find someone to help me. And man... If you ask them for help, there's like a 50% chance they'll give you attitude for asking because they always have something else to do. I work in retail, so it's not like I have no sympathy. But dang they sure are rude! My tip? If you're not in the mood for some attitude, I suggest not doing any returns here either. I made a small return the other day and the lady went as far as rolling her eyes at me! And I was getting store credit for the return! I get it, you all have to make your sale goals, but way to make someone NOT want to come back to your store at all! Out of all the sephoras I've been to, I hate this location the most. Their workers are so useless, all they do is stand around talking to one another and when you ask for help, they'll either ignore you or say they'll be back. Why are you even working here? I'm a vib rouge member and I know a good amount of info about their products and brands and I can tell when a worker is just bsing me. Today i wanted to look for urban decay eyeshadow and there was a sales lady named jasmin who i asked and she definitely was not in the mood to help . I've been in here a few times. I feel like theres girls there that dont want to be there and have major ATTITUDE!! Im sorry but I work with the public and if someone is coming in to buy products you should do your best to be extremely helpful! Not that long ago I went in to redeem a perfume certificate I walked in and asked one of the girls what I needed to do being that it was my first time right away without checking she turned to me and said "OH WE DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT NOW" with such attitude and yes it was the one with green hair.She didn't even let me finish. That was rude. Then I went to another girl who was a bit more helpful and asked about some makeup told her what I was looking for and recommend something. I wasnt happy when I came home and tried it on my face it wasn't what I was looking for so I had to go back and return it .I went in again today to try a different type of foundation and the girl didnt match it right. I felt like I was being hurried and again had major attitude and the store was empty. However i do have to say this the gentleman who was working at the perfume section the first time i went in was extremely helpful and helped us out alot, he infact told me what I needed to do. Thank you for being so helpful, too bad I dont remember his name becuz I would love to rave about him. I gave this Sephora 4 stars because of how awesome their staff is. The Saturday before Halloween I went into the Sephora in the Thousand Oaks mall wanting an express eye makeover done. They couldn't see me, even though no one was getting a makeover. I called Topanga mall and they were booked. I called Northridge and they said they could squeeze me in. I waited like 10 minutes top (and during that time I was picking out products I wanted to be used for my eyes). Sergio, a tall guy helped me pretty much the whole time so I didn't feel like an awkward wall flower. Then this really nice tech, Brittney, did my make up. It's only supposed to be a 10 minutes express makeover, but I had specific requests and she took her time making everything perfect. I really appreciated their help. The store itself, is not nearly as big as the other ones near by. But if you are going in for makeovers, I would go here. read more

I've had my makeup done several times at Sephora and while I'm never unhappy, I'm never fully satisfied. I usually end up fixing something later. Got my face done by Adam and I was in love! I have small Asian eyes and usually have trouble getting the perfect eye look but he accomplished it and more! I've never had my makeup so flawless before. read more

I visited this Sephora for the first time and spent $130.00 I was asked if I wanted to enroll in their beauty insiders program. I thought sure why not. I filled out the form and was told that my receipt would be emailed to me and my beauty insider points would be added to my account. I never received an email or those points I checked multiple times I even waited a couple days. I called to ask about my receipt talked to a person named Jen. She asked me if i could come back to the store. I am not going to take more time out of my day when they said they would email me my receipt to begin with. Then I asked why I haven't received my points. She proceeds to rush me off the phone that they would call me tomorrow and that if I call not to not call too early. Unprofessional. I wont go back again. I know this store is just starting out so they have a couple kinks to sort out. Customer service is a great place to start! read more

Adam was so helpful. He was so helpful with skin care advise and made my face so soft and young looking. Instead of pressing me to buy all the products at once I got a few testers to see how I like them. I'm loving the fresh line. I do agree that their point system could be better. I don't see why they have bad reviews at this place. I only ever come after work which is around 8:30, that's 30 minutes before they close. Any other store would give me shitty customer service but this store doesn't. I went in today to find a new foundation because mine just wasn't good enough anymore. I was helped by a lovely girl named Kathy who somehow stayed almost an hour with me trying on new foundations and trying her hardest to find a matching shade for me. Which brings me to why I chose 4 stars and not 5; this place is never stocked. Ever. There's never any Kat Von D liquid lipsticks and there's always missing foundations or testers, and it's just a constant thing that needs some attention. If you know your store is going to run out of a product, order some more. It's not rocket science. Haha Well anyway, that's my only complaint. Everyone here has always been nice. I came in here yesterday looking for some make up and honestly had the worst experience. I needed to ask one of the girls a question I simply asked her nicely "I know you're busy but can I get help once you're done with the other customer" she rudely replied saying there was a wait which I didn't mind I gave her my name she told them what I was wearing and I was in the store for about another 20 minutes and NO ONE came up to me. I ended up figuring out what I needed myself. Now this is where it gets worse. I came to pay and there was a chubby lady with a purple or blue wig on with a piercing on her upper lip assisting me. She kept talking to me like I was an idiot. A few times she even rolled her eyes at me. After the whole 2 minutes of her being rude I got my bag from her said thank you and she didn't even bother saying anything she literally gave me the dirtiest look. She was so rude to the point where my friends walked away because they didn't want to cause a scene. I will definitely be talking to a manager about this cause it is unacceptable. read more

So I wish I new this woman's name! Normally when I go to a makeup store of any kind the staff is so so but today I met a wonderful staff member who was dancing a little in the aisle I was in which caught my attention. She was so unbelievably nice and was so helpful and didn't treat me like an idiot. She listened to my concerns with my makeup and directed me to some new products I would have never thought to use. Asked me my opinion on some of my favs and was just a total doll! I hope she's there next time I go so I can give her a proper compliment!
