Do yourself a favor and stay away from the store at all cost. The girls who work here are anything but pleasant. I came in for a shade matching events they were advertising to the public, and the service I got was absolutely horrible. A girl named Tianna/Teanna was assisting me and she gave me nothing but attitude. She was literally so extremely rude! Not just her though, the woman with the short black hair working the counter was also giving attitude to another guest. I was honestly so shocked by this. It was my first time ever visiting a MAC store, and I was very impressed with the service, particularly from Nathan! I am a novice when it comes to make-up, so I was looking for a lipstick color that would suit me. Nathan picked out the perfect color for me, and even explained why it works based on color theory. I was sold on the lip, but Nathan went above and beyond to give additional tips and suggestions, and even did a skincare & powder foundation routine on me as an everyday make-up look. I was totally sold, this was exactly what I was looking for and I hadn't even known how to articulate what I was looking for, yet it was like Nathan read my mind! I bought the lip products, the skincare products, and the powder. Nathan also threw in some free minis as part of their current promo, and suggested which would ones would go well with the products I just bought. Avoid getting your makeup done here at all costs! It took a little over two hours to finish makeup for two people who were scheduled at the same time. They seemed very unprofessional - we had to tell them every step of the way what makeup to add. They didn't do what was requested. The lady doing my makeup gave me the lipstick to put on myself. They stepped away a million times to either help other customers (not their fault) and to just keep getting different products for us. We weren't happy with the results at all. read more

My friend and I went in for the 40% off Best Sellers sale today because I wanted to be color matched for the Studio Fix powder. A lady helped me at first and was nice and matched me. And somehow she was gone. I don't know if she was on a break or off her shift but she was gone. But another employee, Jay, was there and he was awesome! He was so nice, didn't mind that we stayed a long time and asked a lot of questions. He color matched my friend and I and disinfected lipsticks for me to try on. He even helped other customers between and apologized for that. He didn't need to as we were still browsing. He was nice, pleasant, friendly, smiling and didn't feel like we were bothering him. He made the experience so pleasant and made both my friend and I want to buy more because he was so knowledgeable. He even helped my friend apply on foundation and powder before we left. Horrible customer service with no interest in helping customers or resolving their issues. We dealt with Tiana and Jay, although Tiana was much worse and suggested we go to the Topanga Store instead to resolve our issue even though that was not convenient for us. Maybe they're suggesting this because they know how superior the staff at Topanga is (big shout out for Sloan and her team there as they are all excellent). I left two separate messages for the Field Representative Roxy to compliment the excellent customer service at Topanga that we've received to date and to complain about Tiana and the staff at Northridge but she has not responded or returned our call. Poor service will make us switch from MAC to other brands because no brand of make up is so good that it is worth putting up with snarly, uninterested store assistants. read more

Mixing mediums for pigments and glitters Eyeshadow: Club~ OG color love it so much. Lip glass- yummmmm Fix plus priming and setting spray. Soft and gentle perfect for an everyday glow. I don't usually shop at MAC, I've had some very unfriendly experiences and refuse to go into the store. There was a new mascara I really wanted to try so I decided to deal and go inside. I didn't get the name of the associate who helped me (I wish I did) she was so amazing! Very friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful. It was at 3:52 pm on Friday 5/27/22 ( I really hope that's helpful). I ended up buying more than expected, even signed up for the loyalty program. It was such a pleasant experience that I will be returning to this particular location in the future! Jay from Mac Cosmetics in the Northridge mall was AMAZING. Even though I came in late in the evening he really took the time to help me find a blush and foundation that I love and he gave me a tutorial about how to apply my eyeshadow and blush, something that I really needed. I stopped by today as Macy's told me they were out of a eye shadow pallet. The associate at Macy's {super nice and friendly} told me to go to the Mac store downstairs they would have it. The gentleman behind the counter was rude and disrespectful and I walked out. Macy's had the product for $30, the Mac store was $33 for the exact same product. I asked him why there was a difference in price his answer was "I am not Macy's, go there if you want it". I believe there is price gouging happening at the Mac store and he got caught. I have looked online at Ulta and another Mac store and the prices were the same as Macy's. Maybe this particular store is price gouging to put a little more in their pocket. Mac fans go to another store where they don't steal money from you to pad their own books to pay the rent and their employees. Another company screwing the customer! I will never set foot in the store again read more

This was my 2nd time into the store....and I actually like it a lot better than the lil space they created inside of Macys. I like the way the store is set up, everything is nicely organized and easily accessible to test out and look at. Lots of different lipstick colors, a lot of brushes, and of course my FAVS the pigments. I usually wait until x- mass time to get my pigments though...because I like the lil gift sets that they offer during the holiday season. So CUTE!!! The staff is friendly...but...for a Sunday they need a few more people working in there because the mall is packed on Sunday's and people don't like to WAIT. All in all....The next time I want some MAC stuff I will go here. read more

They are more worried about selling items than having a happy customer. They aren't doing the full face makeup application yet, so I opted for an eye service. I had pictures of exactly what I wanted. I asked for smoky eye with under eyeliner. I received black eyelids with NO under eyeliner. I felt rushed. She kept fixing my eyebrows after I said I can just fix that myself at home because I definitely wanted enough time to finish the eye makeup. She claims she didn't have enough time to finish my eye makeup but some how she had enough time to apply the eyelashes. AGAIN, they are more worried about making sales than they are with a happy customer. If she finished my eye makeup and didn't have time to apply the lashes I would of still bought the lashes and just applied them myself at home. I wanted to buy eyeshadow but she said she could only use TWO COLORS. I was not told this when I made the appointment and it does not say that on the website! So now I am an unhappy customer and she didn't make sales that she could of if she took some care to give me the look I asked for. There was no one there for a makeup application so I don't understand how she didn't have time. Or how she does have time to apply lashes but not to finish my makeup. I love Mac and only use their products but save yourself the trouble and GO TO A DIFFERENT LOCATION. read more

I find buying make up to be so intimidating, but the sales associates at MAC make that fear go away. Britany helped me find a really good foundation and primer today, and showed me how to put it on. I love the customer service I've received from this free standing Mac store inside Northridge Mall. I recently had my makeup done by Denise. She blew me away. My eye makeup was the best I've ever had done by a MAC MUA. She listened to what I wanted and did exactly that. She didn't try to contour or strobe me. I appreciated that. Not everyone likes being strobed. I'm no prude either, I just don't like the way either of those feel. I went recently on Friday to exchange something, I forgot my receipt but the gal spoke with her manager and they exchanged it for something else. I ended up buying more makeup I don't need so it was a total win win for all. The only thing that is annoying is that they run out of stuff super fast so not everything is in stock or out for testing. They have to fix that. I'm a tester and buyer. read more

Carlie is the absolute best. She is a sweetheart and definitely knows what she is doing. Not only is her work remarkable but she was amazing for getting me out of a tough situation. I had no appointment but recently hurt my hand, I have a wedding to go to tonight. Even though it is a Saturday I went in with all fingers crossed that someone would be willing to have a couple minutes to at least help me put on some lashes. She went above and beyond. I left 2 hours later with a perfect face ready for the wedding. She gave me the look I was looking for, she took her time, and most of all you can tell this gal looooves her job. So I never ever write reviews, but I just had to after this wonderful experience. I had just gotten off work after a long Sunday morning and made a pit stop to MAC in Northridge because I had finished my Clinique makeup and wanted to retry MAC. I used to use MAC years ago, but it made my already oily skin even oiler! I recently had my makeup done by MAC twice this month for 2 weddings and I fell in love with MAC all over again! I was ready and excited to try it again. Right when I walked in, I was greeted by Jazzy who was so incredibly friendly! I told her about my past experiences with MAC and that I would like to retry it. She automatically said she'd match my color so I wiped off my existing makeup. I thought she was just going to do a part of my face, but she gave me an awesome makeover! She did primer, foundation, powder, bronzer, eyebrows, blush, lips, the whole works! She is amazing at what she does! She gave me awesome tips, she is funny, sweet and so helpful. I really enjoyed my MAC experience and I will be back for sure because I live right across the street and I know I am already addicted to MAC again! Thank you for everything, Jazzy! I really enjoy this location. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. I brought a picture of an eye look I was trying to achieve and Brittany took her time and showed me how to replicate the look. I would not have figured it out without her help. She had a lot of tips and tricks for other ways to maximize my look. I was out of almost all of my MAC makeup and had to basically pick up everything from primer, lipsticks, foundation, powder, etc. the process was enjoyable and the suggestions followed with reasons why were awesome. These people are freaking angels. They saved my life!!! I had made an appointment to Mac for my make up for a wedding I had that night and apparently my appointment was for Salinas not for this location and the assistant manager there really hooked me up. I know they were fully busy with prom season and they took the time to still take care of me. I love my make up and they were so accommodating with me and my baby. I can't thank them enough. The girls here will take their time to make sure that all your needs had been met and all your questions had been answered. They would offer you make overs even if you are looking for a lipstick, they make sure you are getting what you need. They also don't push u to buy something you don't want. They would give their honest opinion about the make up you are interested in and offer alternative. read more

I went to get my make up done for some pictures and made an appointment over the phone. I arrived for my appointment and a lady named Amanda (or Landon) did my make up. She took her time and really did a great job. She matched my skin tone perfectly and surpassed my expectations. I don't wear make up often so she helped me pick out a product that would be good for me. I ended up buying some lipstick and got a mascara free with my make up session. It was a great value and I was able to take beautiful pictures. I am so glad they put a Mac store in the Northridge mall. I even got a discount by joining their Mac club. I was is the MAC Northridge mall store for the first time ever on July 18, 2019 only because I had an exchange student with me doing some last minute shopping before departing for her trip home back to China the following morning. She was excited to see a MAC store. So perhaps it is a 'thing' in China in some circles. To me it just seemed like a normal make-up store. Not quite Sephora. Then again, not really Walmart either. But again, I'm not into makeup. The puffy cotton decorations painted pink to resemble, I presume, cotton candy were interesting. Other than that, the store felt not particularly special abd a bit on the smaller side. Maybe that is a plus though. We left the store right before closing time with my young visitor having purchased the perfect shade of lipstick (after 20 minutes of deliberating). We then drove to Target to look at more makeup since Target is open until 10, not 9 pm like MAC. At some point in Target the student realized she did not have her phone on her and didn't rember where it was. She checked her purse. Then she checked my car. No. And she has no GPS tracker on her cell phone. She was in tears. I then remembered her looking at different shades of pink and red lipstick lines drawn on the arm on her phone at MAC store and trying to find the exact lipstick color to match. I asked for her MAC receipt and called the store number wondering if there was any chance whatsoever that someone in the store would pick up the phone at 9:20 pm. To my surprise they did. It was the salesperson/cashier/manager(?) we had interacted with earlier. Her name is Karla or Carly or similar. But in any case, there is a K sound in the front. She said that there indeed was a phone. I then asked if we could pick up the phone in 5 minutes. 5-10 minutes later we were outside the mall and the lady came out with the phone! Needless to say, the day (and perhaps the entire US trip) was salvaged. I am not a makeup person, but if I do need to buy any in the future, i will go to MAC only because the salesperson/manager made such a great impression on me and was extremely helpful. I also heard their makeup is manufactured in the US, Canada, and Italy and that is a big plus for me. I do hope, though, that they stop animal testing, though I haven't looked into that in detail. Until yesterday, call me clueless, but I had no idea that MAC existed! I'm more of a Cover Girl, Revlon, and Rimmel gal and am OK with just going to a CVS or some other pharmacy. Well i like make up but not a lot since I have skin problems but I am always looking for new thing to cover my skin imperfections. I went inside the store and a guy who is spouse to help just looked at me from to to the bottom and he pretend he didn't see me. I notice right away and I went back to him to ask him something and I started to explain my situation and he just limit to say "oh we don't have anything for you".. And be careful because if you are not man or dress to impress he basicly will reject you! I just said my friend if it wasn't for all the people here you would be looking for side job!
