This is my third time at this location and usually it's super crowded, obviously it's times sq. Today it wasn't so bad in the area so the store wasn't as crowded. I was offered a sample when i came in and i tried on a few fragrances. I got my bday gift and purchased a detox shampoo. Staff here is nice and friendly esp the girls at the register. My only con was they don't offer samples. I wanted a foundation match and sample for the new nar foundation and was told they don't do it at that location. I actually like the location. Upon entry, there is always a friendly employee waiting with some sort of sample. You then have to take the escalator down. I don't know if they have an elevator. This was the 3rd Sephora that i visited gor the day. Id been looking for my favorite Lancome face wash. But they didn't have it. The employees were friendly. Pretty busy. It was in the perfect location to save me during a nail emergency. HOWEVER, no all the staff knows what they have. I walked in and after not being able to find nails or nail glue, I asked a lovely employee who told me they didn't have nail glue, but they gave glamnetics nails and that had glue. Fine, I just needed something as I have a work conference and can't be missing 2 nails. She told me they were up at the front in the "impulse buying section" at the register. I was having a hard time finding them, but someone was stocking that section, so I asked her. She said they don't have nails, I told her the other lady said they do, and she tried to argue with me. Well, I found them - they were right where the lady was stocking!!!! Since I was paying with a card, I was able to skip the line, so that definitely made it a quicker experience. read more

This location is by far the most well stocked Sephora I've ever been to. Along with that, it also has the best activations. When I went to the store, there was a summer Friday activation with activities, GWP with minimum spend and a Photo Booth. I especially liked the worker who was at the activation who helped me with the photo booth and was so patient and kind. Aside from that, there were multiple testers available and I was able to try out all flavors/scents of lip butter along with skincare products. The store was decorated nicely and was neat. read more

Right near the center of Time Square. You take an escalator down to the store. It is a large store but it is very busy. I could blame it on the holiday season where everyone is shopping for gifts but I have been here many times and it is always very busy. I ordered (order #639323004107) something from their website for the first (and LAST) time, the experience was unpleasant from start to finish, I had a problem with the shipping address, no one helped me. I left it at that. Then 1 of the items I ordered came incomplete, I PAID FOR 1 SET of 2 and only 1 item arrived (the box was open and looked battered). I write to them for help and they told me that they couldn't do anything to help me or give me a refund because I sent my order to a mailbox/P.O. box (because I'm an international customer). While I've always been a huge Sephora fan, I would definitely order online before coming to this location. They had a pretty solid selection of items. However, they were out of stock of most of the shades that I was hoping to purchase (for multiple products). The first time I came here, a lot of the samples seemed poorly maintained and grimey looking. The second time was much better. I've generally found employees quite helpful. So overall, it's pretty hit or miss. I'll probably stick to online shopping unless I need something same day. read more

To make a Long story short i felt like every time i looked up the same guy was just standing there looking at me because he was in casual clothing i just thought it was a creepy customer. After numerous attempts to get lost in the store he was right there lol yes someone said harassment? So i was fed up and went to do the line to pay and head out guess who was behind me on the line? He didn't reply so i get off the line and put my basket down and head to the elevator once i got off the elevator and heading towards the front door two nYPD cops approached me asking me to please get the unpaid items out of my bag i said "only my personal items are in my bag the basket i put it down with everything i was going to purchase before my experience was ruined by a creepy dude who kept following me" nypd started yelling in my ear and pulled me to an office a few steps away , snatch my bag to find what? Absolutely nothing. Asked me to strip down and i literally did that and what they found? Nothing.... Dropped by the new (for me) Sephora in the Times Square area with stairs leading to the basement. I spent most of my time browsing & trying on the Dior products - my favorite ones !!!! The major reason for giving 2 stars is the attitude & behavior of the employee at the check out. I try to be neither subjective nor too generous unreasonably, but this time, I am giving 2 stars. This was during the Coronavirus, but before the state had issued the state of emergency nor the curfew of 3/16/2020. The employee at the checkout charged me for the 2 Dior lipsticks I had purchased, and did not bother to put them in the bag nor did she ask whether I wanted them bagged. She dumped the products in front of me. No greeting whatsoever. I did not want to make a fuss, but was on the verge of returning the 2 lipsticks right then. Absolutely loved my shopping experience today!! I was looking for a tinted sunscreen, and one of the employees (I wish I got her name) recommend me the tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but I fell in love with how it looked and the perfect amount of coverage that I was looking for. Then, Lizet had also helped me choose the right match for my skin tone and an everyday creme blush. Super helpful and very nice! Later on, I realized the tinted moisturizer looked kind of dry on my skin, so I received help from another employee. I believe her name was Myra (hoping that's spelled correctly) and she was the star of today. She informed me that I should be exfoliating more, use a sunscreen that had more SPF, and later recommened me great products that met all my needs. I believe she said she was a hair specialist, but she definitely knows a lot regarding skincare as well which was wonderful. read more

This Sephora is pretty new. They relocated from across the way. I cannot remember if it says this is the largest Sephora in America or the world. Either way, it did not seem like the largest one I have been in. The store feels choppy. The layout is sort of boxy and made it hard for me to find what I was looking for. No employee greeted me as they do in their Florida stores relentlessly. I couldn't find anyone to ask a question since they were already working with a customer. They did seem to have some different products I had never seen before. It is fun to browse but seems like a headache to try and get assistance if you need it. Especially for how much was spent. Actually came here on purpose as I was in need of mascara and I tried a travel size one of they're Real by Benefit from my Sephora store in Aventura. Once inside the ladies directed you to the escalator down that is where the actual store is in a basement. There was a big promotion and line for a new fragrance Marc Jacobs Daisy eau so sweet. So they were making cotton candy. So naturally I got on line. Nice touch as I ate the cotton candy I hunted out the mascara. If you know Sephora know one helps you. After I finally got someones attention first I was directed to the wrong thing an associate told me they didn't have it and pawned me off on a different brand. So finally someone else got me to where I wanted to go. Frustrated as usual by Sephora I waited to check out. The girl at the register Sonage was in her name tag. I asked her to get me the new fragrance in a stick. Well don't faint I actually got helped thus the 4 star review. Also by the time I am now writing this review I am in need of a full bottle so guess what I will order online! If it wasn't for this location I wouldn't have found a new fragrance I love. Had a decent experience shopping here after covid. Everything Was really clean. They were fully stocked it seemed and it was not over crowded in the store. I had several staff helped me which is not easy to get around this location. The staff were nice. The only thing I didn't love was that the staff was trying to convince me to get or not get certain products. I know they meant well. But that would be my only suggestion. This year, Sephora is having the same sale that Ulta has for the 21 days of beauty. They open at 8am, not 10am. They have early morning appointments to have your make up done if you have something to do in the afternoon. The system for appointments is excellent - very user friendly through their website. Customized make up applications require a $50 purchase or are free if you're a VIP Rogue member, which I am. I was able to secure a 10am appointment. The artist gave me a natural look for an afternoon event I was attending. They will apply false eyelashes (that you purchase there) which really makes your look awesome. That counts towards your $50 purchase. The location is super crowded but it doesn't matter if you have an appointment. The beauty studio is out of the way and no one will bother you. read more

After working 12 days straight I was destined for a day off filled with lots of relaxation and self care and Sephora was the first stop on my list. Busy store but let me be the first to say I didn't feel it one bit. Chasity got me right in and started on my perk facial. She really took the time to analyze my skin and listen to all of my concerns rather than to just sit me down and give me all of the products that she knew I would like. To my surprised the store was fully stocked and very clean. There was a DJ inside playing live music so that certainly was enjoyable as well. read more

I think this Sephora my favorite one in the city! It's so big and fully stocked and the stage members are pretty nice too. I've come here twice in recent times. One time I was just on the stage browsing and another time, I made a purchase. There's so many stage members that I never have to worry about finding someone to ask a question. They usually come up to me first. At some Sephoras, they can be pretty sassy or mean when you ask them for samples. When I come here, they don't give me any problems when I do. Dealing with the register is easy here. There's usually a lot of people working the counter so you can be in and out quickly if you know what you want and even if you don't know what you want, it can still be quick because there's so many people available to ask a question to. read more

The customer service here was phenomenal. I had brought in my bare minerals makeup because the cap was super hard to remove. Miguel initially found it difficult as well because I must have screwed the cap on incorrectly. After knocking it on the floor, he was able to get it open. Yay! I wandered around for a little bit when Aaron introduced himself and provided a lot of expertise. As I asked more questions he lead me to Lee who was extremely knowledgeable in skin care and provided a free mini facial along with several suggestions of products to try. Staff interactions were poor at best. They make a big deal about stopping you at the door, blocking your way in, and inadvertently blocking those trying to leave the store as well. In a long, and unavoidable 5 minute introduction speech they give you some samples that you are forced to take even after saying no. Then they ask for your name and write it down before notifying the others down below of your arrival and purpose for stopping by. Only after receiving acknowledgement from below are you allowed access to the entrance. Then as soon as you're off the escalator, force further interactions with you by providing "personal" assistance in the form of having an associate follow you around the store while you browse. The catch is this associate is just there to police your movements and remind you that you cannot touch any of the merchandise. If covid protocols are this strict here, they should not be open. Will do all of my cosmetic shopping at Nature Republi, Lush, or Body Shop instead. Goodbye Sephora. read more

Replace the hostess managing the line upstairs, and the cashiers. Everyone else is so nice and welcoming. I'm glad Sephora is trying to take measures to prevent this high-traffic store from being over-crowded but the hostess is just rude. She screams at people who come in through the wrong door and at people who enter the store but the line is too long, not that you can tell much from outside. Fortunately, I did not get yelled at but I watched her yell at 10 people in the 5 minutes that I waited, and most of them left. Zero chill that one. Once you get downstairs, the store associates were so friendly and helpful. FYI people are still touching and swatching products (ick), so I really recommend not touching anything. At checkout, the cashier was such a sourpuss that it completely ruined the experience. I was buying a sale item and she gave me a weird look, and then actually asked if I changed the packaging because "it usually costs way more," accusing me of stealing and even calling a manager over. I would like to massively thank make up artist Jordan who is working in Sephora at Times Square. I've had a complimentary makeover as a new Sephora VIB member. And I just came in, without any appointments and Jordan took me right away. I was expecting just a simple make up, 30 min max. But eventually Jordan gave me such a nice skin care first, with peeling pads and a mask, so that my skin was hydrated and looked really bright even though I had a sun burn on my cheek after the day by the sea. Jordan than has spent around 2 hours !!! making me really glam looking. He's asked if I'm willing to play with colors and do a glam makeup, I agreed and never regretted! Look at the pictures what we've got in the end! It's the first time me writing a review, but I just want to thank this amazing guy for the job he has made and all the professional explanations and advices he has given to me. And for his time! Great for tourist. Very near time square. Gets extremely crowded and kind of dirty. No bathroom available. Some of the garbage bins and the make up removers were broken. Staff is very friendly. Is a big sephora basement, no window at all. Bigger than prior location. They have all the the make up available so you will find what you are looking for. Given that the location is by Times Square, the store has a lot of foot traffic and product selection (yay!). This is the only Sephora I know to be open after 10PM. That aside, the store is a mess. Products are missing left and right. Don't even get me started on customer service. The workers act like it is such a chore to help you, even though that's what they're getting paid for. Even the cashier was rude (the man with the blue hair.) He kept cutting me off when I was trying to talk to him and acknowledged that he was "grumpy" but made no effort to be even a tad bit pleasant. This review is solemnly on the staff. It is the worst customer service I have experienced entirely. I was excited about this new location and the ample space. However, the employees tend to be haughty and impolite all of the time. I would have referenced individual employees by name, yet it turns out that everyone I have engaged with is indifferent. The staff are unapproachable and scurry upon being approached. They give the impression to be busy, even when unoccupied! Today, when I expected mayhem at Sephora's due to the 20% discount, it was quiet. The staff at this Sephora are unwelcoming. I was unable to pick out someone approachable. On Monday Feb 10th I decided to do some last minute Valentine's Day shopping for my 2 daughters and the greatest love of my life.. the mother of my children! After a couple minutes of just looking through and sampling the large selection of fragrances.. I became overwhelmed and asked for some help. I was pleasantly greeted by Carly. She was sooo patient and helpful. She helped pick out a fragrance from each of my daughters as well as a lovely selection for their mother. She even suggested a Yves Saint Laurent cologne for me that smelled great! So I picked that up for myself :-) As I proceeded to checkout I was greeted by Malieek .. this cashier was also very pleasant and welcoming with short conversation asking if I was satisfied with what I have chosen. He also asked me if I would be interested in applying for a Sephora card. He continued in informing me that i would receive immediate savings. As we began the application process he told me that I he liked all the items I purchased and he was sure that whomever was getting them.. that they would love them as well. Malikee was soo pleasant. He clearly enjoyed his job and embraced meeting people and making their Sephora experience a pleasant one. This was my first time at this location and the experience was superb!! As I left I asked to speak with a manager. I was greeted by another cheerful and pleasant employee was managed the store (Jasmine). She was appreciative of my feedback and assured me that she would celebrate Carly and Malikee immediately.
