The employees at this location really need some solid customer service training ASAP (which begins at hiring... a warm body with no personality is worse than having no one to hire!!!): I went in to return an item I had purchased in Chestnut Hill, item was in the original bag with receipt, never opened and I even had the little gift that came with purchase in there as well. Should be easy, right? I passed 3 associates on the sales floor, none of them even looked at me (11:45 on a weekday morning October 5th, it wasn't as if the store was packed). Made my way to the back and waited while the extememely bored looking girl at the register (Yanna? Yenina? Dark brown hair) was not even helping the woman who had just made a purchase, she handed a Sephora bag to the customer so she could bag her own purchase. Weird. No hello for me - no thank you or anything else at the end, but I expected that. No smile, nothing. Just a "here is your receipt". There are a few reasons why I shop almost exclusively at Ulta now, and this is a good example of one (if Ulta had carried this Estee Lauder foundation, I would have purchased there)!! My 11 year-old twins visited the Sephora on 1245 Worcester Rd in the Natick Gallery around 5:15 pm on Sunday, 3/24/2024. I was waiting just outside by a seated area by the front entrance. The staff member/cashier named Chelsea was very kind, courteous, friendly, and treated them like valued customers despite their young age. My twins said this person made their day and wanted me to take the time to acknowledge Chelsea. Thank you for representing Sephora so well. I had terrible service. They were out of stock for most products I needed. Sephora replied and told me to email them and then just said "sorry that happened." I went back a week later to get what I needed and everything was still out of stock. I even went back today (a month later) to really give them the benefit of the doubt. One time I was at the store and had some makeup in my hand and my sister had called me and told me we had to head home so I put all the makeup back and I was about to walk out I was immediately bombarded with questions by this workout and she basically started accusing me of shoplifting. As someone who has severe social anxiety this was very very upsetting. I almost had a panic attack she was asking me all these questions and making me scared to leave the mall.I didn't go back for months and when I did I would followed and watched every 5 Seconds it was do you need help do you need help and I would go down a different aisle and next thing I knew that same worker was there.One worker in particular she watches me and it's the same one that accused me and she gives me panic attacks.I wish I had her name.I don't know what this review will do but those workers need to back off! read more

Not the best location, especially for shoppers of color. My experiences at the Sephora locations in Chestnut Hill, Dedham, and locations in NH have been much better. Would avoid the Natick mall location, if possible. I'm a multiracial female with African and Asian ancestry. I tend to get microaggressions by staff at this location, including appearance-related comments and being followed around the store as if I'm a concern regarding "shrinkage". Meanwhile, white shoppers are walking around like they are invisible. I don't want to get into unconscious bias and why African Americans with more white ancestry would be considered more attractive...and why don't we look more like them or the Black actresses who have nose jobs and cheek lifts? What I will say is that the appearance-related comments made about me by the SAs in this store have been very demeaning, especially coming from minimum wage workers. If I'm paying top dollar for makeup and skin care, I'm going to choose to be treated well. Suggest the beauty section at Nordstrom Natick instead of this store. read more

I want to give a shoutout and recognition to Stef R who did a focused eye look for me on 2/4/2022. The QR code for my survey expired but I really want to give her credit for the great service and skill. Eyes are hands down the hardest thing for me to do when applying makeup, I can barely get eyeliner straight. I was going to a wedding and I kinda knew what colors I might want to try but I had no idea what look I actually wanted. Stef R understood the assignment. She slayed my eye look with little to no input from me because I couldn't really describe what I wanted. Honestly I didn't really know what I wanted. I love this store but the people not so much..there's one lady there who accused me of shoplifting and ever since then anytime I go back she follows me around has other employees stalk me and makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.The employees practically shoved baskets in my hand even if i have one item !like I understand you have to make sure people aren't shoplifting but people there are extremely rude like they help you but then they like watch you if they think you're doing anything when you're really not! now if you need to get makeup from them I really recommend doing it online because you are not stalked or going to the Sephora at Kohl's because they treat you nicer there and they don't stalk you and make you feel so uncomfortable that you have a panic attack! read more

Having been to several other Sephora's now (Boston, New York, Cambridge, Boca Raton, Las Vegas..), I have to say that this is the best one. Super well organized. Attentive service when I want it and freedom from hassle when I want that as well. Whether I'm in here to play with makeup before going on and not spend a dime or to purchase $26 tubes of mascara, etc, I am treated the same: with a smile and a big old pile of respect. It's a nice sized store and they always have what I am looking for. But, I have to be honest and admit that I avoid it more often than not because it is never a relaxing experience. It's very annoying to be greeted and asked what you're looking for 5 times in a row. Every corner I turned, every time I just pick something up to get a better look, I get asked how I'm doing and if I need help. I would love to just walk up and down the aisles leisurely and look around, but I guess that won't be happening here. read more

Showed the girls the email with the specs. She pulled the item off the shelf, verified the numbers on my phone and walked me to the counter so I could pay. I cannot tell a lie. I have visited Sephoras all around New England and no where near can any of the ones I have visited hold a candle light to the sophistication that the Natick store has. They have the right balance of helpful service without pushing any sales pressure onto you. When walking in, I had scope of the store's layout. I wasn't attacked at first sight, which sets the ease of my anxiety in cosmetic stores. Within a few minutes, I was asked if I needed any help. And, then a few questions came with how-to's. The associate lend me off to Alida. And, this is where I fell in love. Alida is a true asset to Sephora. I have never met any stylist who was so humble, patient. She helped me overcome my fear of eyewear application. She helped me choose something daring (at least for me) and something that I have always wished to step out of my comfort zone. She boosted my confidence and believing that applying makeup should never be terrifying or mortifying. I feel as though that I have found a brand new side of me. Thank you, Sephora of Natick, for finding this great person. Although, Alida is a relatively new stylist, her techniques are at an expert level. She helps her customers in the most important way possible: Alida elevates your spirits in a way that you couldn't believe. Love the smell of Sephoras--all those lovely perfumes and colognes and beauty products mingling together to create a symphony of delicious smells. You'd think that it'd be more an olfactory cacophony, but it isn't. Anyway, smells aside... this Sephora impressed me more than others I've been to because of their high level of customer service, both behind the counter as I was checking out, and while getting my makeup done by a CMA. You have to get a $50 giftcard before they'll apply makeup for you, but it's actually a pretty sweet deal since you can use said card for the products they use while doing your face--and you know exactly what it looks like... no guessing games here! Rachael, my CMA, did a fantastic job when I came in on Saturday. I told her I wanted a classy but different look for my night out on the town. I usually do a cat eye liner, and thought I wanted to go for a smokey-eye, but when she put the grey/black shadows on my lids, I quickly realized I looked more like a bruised panda bear than a foxy lady. We nixed that idea, and she smoothly transitioned into another evening look, incorporating a more subtle version of my cat eyes--using the YSL cream liner, vs my standard liquid liner--but giving me some pizzazz as well (shadow, highlighter, bronzer, etc). I had to give her major kudos for going with the flow and giving me a look that was just right for me and my evening plans! Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd love to come back again, especially for a special occasion... really fun! read more

I love me some Sephora. This is the one I go to most often since its conveniently located for me. Staff is always super friendly and willing to help me find something. They also carry bare escentuals (sp?) which is nice because it means one less store for me to have to find. Frankly I think a lot of the make up offered is way overpriced ($50 for one color of eyeshadow? no thanks...) but their Sephora line is great. And They have TONS of accessories. ONLY complaint about this location is that its kind of cramped. Its easy to navigate by yourself but if you have a few shopping bags with you - forget about it. I had a hard time looking around without being in fear of knocking stuff over with my shopping bags. read more

Most of the people working here were amazing and really helpful but there was an older white woman who worked there who kept trailing behind me. When I looked up and met eyes with her she looked away and went back to staring at me when I looked away. I couldn't help but think it was racially motivated because I was the only young black woman person in the store as far as I could tell. It made me really uncomfortable. read more

In general, I find that Sephora is a great place to get all your designer make-up needs and try out a huge variety of products. I find that the prices are more expensive than other locations, but they truly excel in the amount of merchandise, the ability to test their products without being disturbed, and the quality of customer service. I visited Sephora during my lunch break yesterday and Stephanie was really helpful in going over perfumes with me. She was very knowledgable about the particular scents I was interested in and gave me a variety of options. One of the best things about Sephora, compared to almost any other cosmetic / beauty store, is the knowledge of the people and the ability to try before buying. I recently walked into Sephora on a quest for a new face wash. I was greeted by a few employees (wearing their trademark all black outfit) and was walked over to the appropriate section. She asked mea few questions, took a look at my skin and what I was trying to achieve, and gave me a quick breakdown of what they had that might fit the bill. After looking around for a while, she offered to make a few samples of some products I was interested in, and I walked out with a free goodie bag of products. They have a great return policy (30 days even if used) and a huge selection. Not quite as big as the Boston store, but probably 90% of the product. Employees seemed to know what they were talking about, very friendly, and not rushed in any way. Store is laid out a big confusingly, but nothing too bad. Only real downside are the crowds, which can be horrid at any store in the mall at the wrong time. Definitely worth a trip, even if you're just on a quest for some info. read more

Not that I have ever asked for help while at Sephora before but the staff neither seem to know very much nor are very encouraging with giving out samples of their products, and really push you to buy which isn't always necessarily the best idea. Me and my friend got a skincare specialist person to recommend some products to her and her problem skin and she just recommended the harsher treatment products like lol, no that's the easy answer and I've done enough research myself to know that's not how you do it. She kept trying to have us buy starter sets but no, my friend doesn't do anything to her skin and needs to start with samples. So I explictly asked for the sample of the product that she recommended for my friend. I think in a case like this, the skincare associate should have recommended a few more varieties and provide the sample (up to their maximum) so my friend can actually compare and test without wasting money and time for both parties, but no, she didn't. Such good service would give us the incentive to go back to that location to purchase full sized, but nah, we'll just go to the more conveniently located ones next time. And skip the consultations because they clearly don't know that much. read more

I love sephora and I always say I could spend hours browsing around there. I've been to the natick mall store several times but I have to write about how good my last experience was. I'm on a search for the perfect foundation. I've been using Mac for the past few years but I've been noticing it goes on cakey lately so I was serious about trying something new. I asked the lady by the door for help and asked her what color foundation she recommends for me. I was shocked when she told me they have a little device that takes three pictures of your skin and then matches the correct color for you. She used the device on me and then the color came up on her computer. This allowed her to find any brand and pick the correct color. I was very impressed! I have been to many makeup shops and other sephora stores and had never had this recommended to me. The lady who helped me was extremely helpful and gave me samples of three foundation brands before I committed to paying for one. Normally when I get a sample from sephora they are pretty stingy but this lady filled up the little jars well enough that I'll be able to tell what the right brand is for me. My only complaint is this particular sephora is normally very hot inside and it smells strongly of perfume. If you can put this behind you it's a great store. read more

Bad service some cast members are really rude, when a went with a friend the ignore us the whole time and when we ask for help no one came... after trying dirty makeup testers ...we request to have a color iq test and they gave us the worst attention ever. I like the way you can try on most makeup and perfume with fresh clean brushes and applicators. This is a nice place with kind employees. Extremely expensive but VERY good quality. A good place to go if you are looking for some high-quality cosmetics you know you are going to use a lot. read more

We had a fantastic time with Stef H! She was so fun and walked us through the basics of every day makeup with patience and flare. The store was well stocked, all the makeup artists were really friendly and helpful. The only reason I shop at Sephora is because the the product is not available elsewhere. Every time I need to replace it, I dread going in to this shop. The staff is not friendly or helpful. I waited 5 minutes for a shop assistant to stop trying on the cosmetics. Finally when she , begrudgingly, asked me if I needed help, she just pointed to the general direction. THE WORST Customer experience in a retail store I have ever had. Walked in on a Saturday and was interested in making a purchase and getting my eye shadow done with what I was purchasing. I asked if a make up artist was available - and I was told not until 3 pm (which was 3 hours from then). I may have understood if there wasn't 15 make up artists standing around the store gossiping with one another. I searched the store and was clearly looking for something and no one even bothered to ask if they could help me - so I finally gave up and left. For make up and the rude staff - not worth the aggravation - which is upsetting for what I thought was an upscale shopping mall. read more

Love the one in Burlington and at the Natick Collection but I wished they carried fragrances from L'Artisan, Serge Lutens and Annick Goutal and fewer of the celebrity fragrances. The mini-Sephora in J.C. Penney is OK but the sales help is constantly on me every time I turn around. I have to tell them to just back off. read more

I usually go to my local Sephora store in Braintree where I love the layout and helpfulness of the staff, but I was meeting a friend in natick and stopped in. It was really busy when I went, but I found the staff to be really snotty and unpleasant. Cashier was just rolling her eyes all over the place for whatever reason. If I do go to this Sephora again it will only be because of the products, but not once have a had a pleasant experience with the employees at this location. read more
