I was helped by Adalia. She was so incredibly sweet and helpful. I am new to eyelash extensions and false nails. She showed me everything and she was using everything herself. She looked beautiful by the way so I trusted her. She also helped me find the right shade of lipstick, gloss and eyeshadow. The only thing that bummed me out was I waited awhile to get service because the manager was screaming at the workers in a very demeaning way. And the manager saw me. She didn't stop talking down to the employees even though I was in there shopping. I felt so uncomfortable and was unable to focus on what I needed or wanted because she was letting out her frustrations in front of everyone. Once the manager left Adalia came right over to me. First of all, I just want to say that this store is GREAT for customer service. Whenever I come here, I'm greeted and asked if I need help with anything. They're usually pretty stocked as far as products go and the store itself is very organized and clean. I would never get a makeover here but that's because I don't think most of the staff here deal with darker complexions. Most of the people who work here are MUA's and their makeup is almost always on point but I still wouldn't risk it -- Especially taking things like flashback into consideration for pictures, etc. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend. read more

So I had a photoshoot .. And scheduled for a neutral makeup look at their counter. I was informed that it's free but I have to buy 50$ worth of makeup in return . I came in and a young lady started my makeup. I showed her the look I wanted and at the end of the session, I could not walk out of the store with a straight face. I looked like a clown!!!!!!!! I wanted to have a professional makeup artist do my makeup for this photoshoot but at the end of the session I realized that I threw my money down the drain because I prefer buying my makeup from MAC anyway. I could have done better if I did the makeup myself. I would give a higher star for the customer service, the staffs were all nice but I just ended up with someone who doesn't know how to do makeup on women of color. Maybe this store needs to hire a woman of color that can help their customers who are dark skin. read more

I am a Sephora fanatic. It was definitely one of my most loved stores. Upon moving to the Worcester area, I began to frequent this store. The store is kept very well. Everything was nice, neat and organized. Unfortunately, many of the brands only stocked up to a certain shade in foundations, concealers, and bronzing powders-basically, the store doesn't cater to women of color. The issue is not the brands because they had many shades for women of color listed on the Sephora website; the store just doesn't carry them. Also, after my first few visits to this location, I noticed a tall, slim lady with silver hair following me around. At first I paid it no attention. I assumed she had profiled me and was just observing my behavior. I brushed it off and ignored her. After several more visits to the store I noticed the same lady circling me and constantly staring at me the entire time I was in the store. Not once did she offer me any help or assistance, even when I asked. I put my items back and left the store. I spend my hard earned money in Sephora, and initially, I brushed off the employer's behavior. You'd think after following me around for as much as she has she'd have noticed that I am not a thief. Needless to say, I no longer shop at this store and I haven't been to any Sephora since. This type take of treatment to customers by employers should not be tolerated by customers or your company. read more

Ive visited this location a few times and it is on the smaller scale. Its large enough to spend a decent amount of time in each aisle casually playing around with different brands and sampling some amazing cosmetics. I find the staff super friendly and knowledable. They are always asking if you need any help and there seems to always be someone available for questions or recommendations. I've taken some of their recommendations in the past which has lead me into some fabulous new brands i probably would never have tried otherwise. The only dislike i have is the location of the store. On the weekends its complete chaos trying to get into this plaza with all the traffic. Teens like to come in here in groups and bombard aisles which can cause difficulty navigating through the store. I also have a few brand preferences that sephora does not carry that i need to go elsewhere for. They do have a clean store and amazing staff though. read more

I absolutely love this store, I come in with my fiancé Mikayla greets us and makes us feel welcomed every time. Whenever I have a question regarding a new product or pricing she knows everything there is to know about the product and price point. She is very informative and helpful when giving a perk facial on the step-by-step process also she discloses what she's putting on your skin before doing so. I frequently shop at different Sephora stores; however, this one is far beyond superior to the rest. From cleanliness, to the helpful employees loaded with knowledge about each product, you can't go wrong here. This Sephora location is clean, well stocked and well lit. It is also convenient as it is close to my home. The staff are helpful, warm and welcoming. However, I have stopped shopping at this location because I came to notice that when one particular manager was on duty, she closely watched and followed me as I shopped. At first, I thought this manager--a full figured woman with auburn hair--was particularly keen to help. At Sephora stores I usually browse freely, without frequent interruption. However, I came to notice my experience at Millbury was different from my general Sephora experience only when this manager was on duty. She consistently followed me and was quite obvious about closely watching me in particular, to the exclusion of other guests. I began to feel uncomfortable with her constant, unasked for attention and constant observation. I dreaded seeing her when I came to shop. Slowly it dawned on me she was engaging in this behavior because she suspected I was a shoplifter. I am not sure what gave this manager--and, it must be noted, only this manager--the impression that I would take items from the store without paying for them. Perhaps it's because I am a woman of color and am stereotyped as more likely to steal. Perhaps it is because I shop at Sephora so frequently I arouse suspicion. I am a makeup artist. Shopping for makeup is an essential part of my work. Ironically, I am at the highest tier of shopper VIB Rouge reserved for people who spend more than a thousand dollars a calendar year. I have spent thousands of dollars for product at the Millbury Sephora alone. Perhaps the issue is as basic as this manager disliking the cut of my face. I do not know. Whatever the reason, this particular manager's behavior made me feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome that I decided to stop shopping at Millbury entirely. I now shop exclusively at Natick, Holyoke, or Sephora online. These brick-and-mortar store locations are not as convenient as Millbury, but I would prefer to travel and be treated with respect than to be followed through the store as though I were a sneak thief. read more

This Sephora is clean and the people are helpful. Would that more stores were like Sephora. All the employees stay in their pre-assigned lanes. Some cast members are greeters. They are there to be smiley and welcoming. Another group just run the register. That's what they do. Some work in hair and skin, others work in cosmetics --they can arch an eyebrow like nobody's business. and then there are perfumes. The employees are all super friendly. The staff is helpful and will walk around the store with you and help you until you find the right product, if you ask them to. I love everyone that works there and they are great on remembering your name, friendly upon arrival and educated in skin care products also if you don't know a good skin regimen and the good thing about sephora that I love is that if u have any problems with a product or don't like the way it works u can always come back and get a full refund or exchange as long as u have your receipt and they are very helpful in giving u samples before purchasing a product of you aren't too sure about buying it or just trying it to see how your skin reacts. I absolutely love this Sephora location. This is precisely what a shopping experience should be like from start to finish. I am in no way anti-youth but it is always nice when there are sales associates my own age available to assist me and completely get where I am coming from regarding skin care and make-up. Add to this the fact that this Sephora location is a miniature United Nations. Diversity always makes for a more interesting staff. I love having a Sephora so close to home! I make each trip very quick otherwise I will spend hundreds of dollars very quickly! Buyer beware! Everything looks good!! I am a VIB rouge and I peeked through the benefits to see free makeovers. I have witnessed 2 of these makeovers, one on my sister and one on a 14 year old girl (new to makeup) whose mom brought her in. Both had thick foundation (that did not match) masks on. It was horrifying to see! You see, it was clear the young girl was brought in to learn about make up. Clearly this girl with gorgeous skin need a tinted moisturizer for "light" coverage. But the employee gave her a full face, caked on! This tells me 1 of 2 things. 1. They don't know much about makeup. Or 2. They will push products on to you that you don't need. Ps what 14 year old is going to put on foundation.... I mean seriously. Aside, from that I love the products and the staff are helpful and friendly when seeking something. I would only caution you against the "free" makeover. read more
