I've been going here for a while and had never had a problem but I wanted to address one specific brand, glow recipe watermelon dew drops. I have been using this product for a while but the thing is that I always have to repurchase within at least 3 month (and no I don't use a lot only one full pump) and I wanted to talk about the pump itself it is way too short for the bottle and I always have to end up sticking a q tip in there and scooping out the product. One word, REWARDS POINTS! My wife loves this place, she swears by the points and the products. It seems like Sephora is a busy place, women getting makeovers, buying make up, hair products and perfume being sprayed, its nuts in here. Me, I glide by all the women nonsense and stop by the mens section. The Mens cologne is very substantial with brands like John Varvatos, Hermes and Burberry for men. Forget Macy's and the silly stand in the center, you want to try good cologne, make this your first stop. For Christmas, my wife gave me a gift. There are about 20 different cologne samples in travel bag. When I find the cologne I like, there is a gift certificate for a full size cologne of my choosing. A few years ago, I went to bumble and bumble for a haircut. I had two washes, a razor cut, snipping and the stylist used a product called SUMOTECH. Forget all the other Men's hair products, I've been using this stuff for years. Guess what, they sell it at Sephora! I will never return to this location due to this one snotty worker who made me feel bad about myself. Don't know her name, but she looked to be around 20, which is my age. I assumed this would make her more helpful. I asked if they carried any peel off lip stains, and she looked me up and down, smirked, and said "no, you can check tiktok shop", like an insult. Sorry for asking? It's not that hard to say "no, sorry, we don't carry any of those is there anything else I can help with? ". She did not say to check tiktok shop in a helpful way, it was clearly a diss at me like I'm looking for some kind of cheap, weird product. MEANWHILE Ulta, my favorite beauty store, carries multiple. Service there is always top notch, and they would never try to degrade a customer. I think about this interaction once a month bc it was so rude and shocking to be spoken to like that. Long but worth the read So i had tried to make a halloween makeup appointment with sephora in the beginning of october but they were booked so I had to go with mac, I call the day of my appointment to double check the time and the woman tells me that they're having issues with a fire alarm or fire marshal she wasn't super clear. She then tells me i might not be able to get my makeup done because they don't know when they'll be back in the store and they will be backed up because of the morning appointments that they're missing so panicked i call sephora explain what happened spoke to kerri who was an absolute angel and they said they're aware of what happened they'll be able to help me out if i wanna come in. Little did i know that i would be blessed with claudia who was so nice and extremely talented. Not only did she make sure i left looking absolutely amazing with a full face of beetle juice makeup but she was so friendly and funny and made me feel like she actually cared about how my makeup turned out, she didn't make me feel rushed or like it was an inconvenience at all. She was the most amazing make up artist and i'm so thankful that she turned my terrible situation into a blessing. Sephora is amazing and i won't go anywhere else ever again. read more

Had my make up done here because I was going to a wedding. My appointment ran on time. The way it works is that you spend $50 worth of products and you get he free makeover (not really free) but still not bad. I chose the 45 minute makeover. My make up looked amazing and I left with three products. I got an eye cream, lipgloss, and eyeliner. I was really pressed for time that day and everything went according to plan. Management is rude and unconcerned about the poor customer service. I shop quite often at Sephora and being as the Lake Grove location is close to me I go to that location. I usually don't bother writing reviews, but now I feel I have to. I went in, looking not my best, to pick up my Olaplex and as usual I got distracted looking at nearly everything. While shopping tho I was made to feel like a criminal and that I was not welcome. The girl at the front and a second person working there saw me struggle with multiple items and then I asked for help. They both pretended not to hear me and continue their conversation, with each other. At the end of my time there, a salesperson who I asked for help from earlier , walked over swinging a basket, nearly missing my head as I was kneeling looking at something. I declined. I went to the counter stating I wanted to speak with the manager as I was beyond disgusted. I was told, by one of the horrible two, that she was the manager. She proceeded to call me "sweetie" and "honey " as I asked for her district managers Information, to which she said she doesn't have, but gave me a general mailbox to call ( which I did and it was a phone tree that out me in circles). When I told her I would not return due to her service and the service of her team, she said " ok sweetie, sorry you feel that way but ok" I own a small business and I know that salespeople get treated not well sometimes and I try to always be polite and give the benefit of the doubt, but, this is an entire store of uneducated, nasty, mean, horrible people who truly have to be fired and start over with new management and staffing. Sephora really does just hire anyone that looks good to them. Especially at smith haven mall it's crazy to me how these employees call themselves MUA's. I went in Sunday mind you I know how to do my makeup I just wanted to get it done just for the heck of it because I had somewhere to go. I was trying to be very patient and nice so I told her what she was doing was fine just so I wouldn't flip out on her. First of all they don't know how blend or color correct or apply eyeliner and eyelashes which was baffling because I paid $80 for nooooo damn reason. I really wish I took a before and after pik. She did a terrible job and I was so annoyed I just wanted to get out of there. Don't get me wrong she was very nice reason why I didn't want to be mean. The fact that she was telling about going to makeup school and how she learned and blah blah but didn't know the basics was crazy. So this is for the hiring manager who reviewed her profile you guys really need to get people who can make their customers happy because you'll lose out on a lot. I went into this store today to purchase perfume as a holiday gift for someone. As I was checking out some testers, I was also watched by the perfume employee the entire time. She had asked me three times within two minutes if there was anything I needed help with, which I politely declined and told her I would let her know if I needed anything. She quite literally followed me step by step for another minute before asking me again if I needed help, which resulted in me leaving the store. I was only there for five minutes and felt harassed enough by the staff to leave, without the gift I went specifically there for. read more

And (like the Sephora stores almost always do) they NEVER give you samples, no matter how much you spend. The displays are also quite gross and not cleaned enough. Do what I do, I shop online, the shipping is very fast (and free if you spend more than $50, which is not hard to do) and I get at least 4 free samples with each order. This store is usually packed and I always feel badly for the guys that are being dragged inside by their significant others, it's hot and busy and there is no place to sit. read more

I love the fact that they give you reward points. One point for every dollar you spend and they never expire. Which is awesome. I shop here once a week from September through December, for Christmas. To stock up for the year. And I refresh what's needed throughout the year. And what I can't find in store I can always find online and purchase it there and have it delivered to my house. The staff is always knowledgeable and friendly towards their clients. I'm always greeted by security. They didn't always have security, but they started having security since a lot of their samples were going missing. People used to take them, steal them, instead of buying the product itself. If you want a sample of something, just ask. It's that simple, they will give you a sample if they have it. If you aren't planning stealing the samples then you shouldn't feel threatened being watched in the store. The products are expensive so it's only natural that they have security now. I stick to a small variety of brands. And Sephora carries all but one. (Obviously they don't carry MAC since it's located right across from them). I stick to certain brands when I fall in love with them. The reward points come in handy when you want to try something, but don't want to pay for it and can't try it on in the store because you're already wearing the product so you can't get a real feel for it. And the birthday gifts they give you (are free and require no purchase) are fantastic for the same reason. I have definitely become a fan of Marc Jacobs beauty now. read more
