This Macy's location and I go way back. Always great sales here. After visiting recently, I can say this is still one of my favorite locations although I don't get to visit as much anymore. Bath towels from the Hotel Collection line were on sale for $3-$5 a pop! Major deal! The sales rep who assisted was so nice and chatty too! I visited the shoe department and while it was okay nothing compares to Herald square's. I also noticed a Toys 'R' Us inside this Macy's location on level 3. When did Toys 'R' Us become part of Macy's? Very cook to see this toy store back on the map. On the way out of the store, the buzzer went off (how annoying lol) but a salesman in the men's department was quick to offer assistance to get it cleared. I love this location! Absolutely the worst experience ever. Do not buy furniture here. Definitely do not pay for the "white glove" delivery. Total ripoff!!! Stay away. After a nightmare experience in the Store with the sales rep Andy, it only went downhill from there. After paying for delivery and taking off work, they would not move my old couch to the street, even though I was very clearly told this would not be an issue. Now I have to refuse delivery. Of course now I will have to fight for my money back, or take another day off and have it delivered again. I'll also have to move my old couch out on my own. Macy's always has my large 3x large size and great sales. It's a Nyc staple. Not too many left.

I haven't shopped in Macy's in a LONG TIME, because every time I do, I ALWAYS have issues with their sales or their employees. I made an order on Macy's.com for Christmas. It was delivered after Christmas. But on December 22, 2020 I realized that they didn't take off my promotional discount on 3 out of the 4 items I purchased. I called Macy's customer service 5 times, I got hung up on once, and refused to be redirected to their supervisors, I ended up yelling at one customer service rep. I only got back ONE promotional discount (I was supposed to receive 20% off on EACH of the 3 items, I understood the 4th item didn't include that discount and I was okay with that. I wanted the product anyway). I am STILL waiting on a lousy $8.15 to be refunded to me. I called Macy's corporate, which was a COMPLETE waste of time because no one there EVER answers their phones. They want you to leave a message, why? So they NEVER call you back? I got in touch with Macy's Store "corporate" offices. The section below corporate. I was assured by that rep that she was going to look into why I haven't received my credit back yet because it shows up on the website, yet on my end it STILL states that I was charged the full amount. I should be getting a refund. I was assured that she would PERSONALLY CALL ME BACK. Well, that was a week ago. She NEVER called me back. Looks like if I need that looked into, I have to call them back again. This will make the 8th time I'd be calling Macy's to get back $8.15 which is RIGHTFULLY MINE! This is a screw up on their end. Not mine. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. That I buy anything from Macy's this is the problem I have. This is why I boycott shopping at Macy's, because their Customer Service staff is like dealing with a bunch of inbred moths trying to fly towards the light. No one keeps their records straight. No one keeps in contact with you. No one does anything for you except rape you of your hard earned money. I probably won't get this refund back because of their incompetence. Some mutton-head lady in the jewelry department insulted me while I was shopping here last Tuesday. Skinny, short lady with long, straight brown hair and brown eyes. Back when I worked customer service, I could not speak to customers how ever I felt like- I had to bite my tongue and be nice and use patience even if I wanted to walk away. If I acted the way this lady acted towards me at any of my past jobs, I would have been fired in a heartbeat. I guess the standards are different for older women than for younger ones though - maybe you get a lobotomy when you hit 60 these days. I just took myself over to Zales, where the associate was very kind and intelligent, and bought more jewelry. I spotted 8 jewelry stores in this mall while I was there last week - you would think Macy's would level up the shopping experience knowing how much competition there is. I love the selection at Macy's and this store happened to be very organized and put together in both the ground floor juniors department and the upstairs Inc and Vince Camuto ladies clothing areas. They didn't have any assistance on the floor. I had my arms full of clothes to try on and I'm used to someone asking me if I wanted to start a dressing room but that didn't occur this Tuesday evening. The fitting rooms were a hot mess in the juniors department but had an attendant in the upstairs fitting room. All in all, I bought several new items for my summer wardrobe and used my 20% discount. Macy's was once my favorite store. Once I had two Macy's credit cards. I canceled my Macy's card because my other card was A & S until Macy's purchased the company. Now they have a terrible outsourced credit department that decided to cancel my oldest card (40+yrs old) in perfect standing because I supposedly didn't use it. That's untrue: The reason they noticed low usage was after using it once to be sure it stayed active. While purchasing something an error message kept popping up I had no idea my account had been closed by these idiots. They refused to reverse their mistake. Back in the days when I shopped Macy's exclusively I bought a few watches. Now they are obsolete in Fossils history so I've been trying to call Macy's for watchband size and battery information. A voicemail picks up instead of a human being and after following the prompts 2,1,4 no one picks up. There's NO customer service number or switchboard operator to reach when calling a specific department just to ask a question about replacement parts. This store will eventually go into the history books and will have closing forever sales. As far as I'm concerned it can't happen fast enough It makes me sad to see a decline of this once great company. read more

This place is disgusting and disorganized. Forget the disorganization for a second, and let's get down to the disgusting part. The dressing rooms reeked of urine, and even the employees noted that people tend to use them as restrooms. And someone took a steaming dump over by the escalator. It sat there for 15 minutes before an employee did something about it. And forget finding your size - everything's all over the place. I don't think it's in part to the employees - shoppers are just rude. Considering that it's a more, er, upscale (?) mall than South Shore, I would have expected a better store. I definitely fell in love with Macys. Before no, but now the way they welcome you, and helping you out, to be honest it's my favorite. It's really clean, every Macys I went to, they are all clean and fresh, and guess what? When I married my wife I realized it's her favor store also, she would be so upset if she knew I shopped at another store. We're finally in love with Macys . And it's not really expensive if you know how to use your coupons. Lolll Now almost everything we wear is bought at Macys. The night before Christmas Eve we went to do last minute shopping. The store was packed, but we were able to shop without hassle & still can shop & find store personnel to help us find what we were looking for... I wish I can do grocery shopping at Macy's too! I went to Macy's Shoe Department in Lake Grove at 10:00 A.M. today I was returning shoes and needed to find new ones for a wedding this Saturday. The woman who greeted me was very sweet and said she would get a Macy's employee to help me. I was fortunate to have Catherine Guglielmo come to my assistance. I explained what I needed and she went out of her way to help. She not only got the shoes I was interested in trying but made many suggestions to help me. I hate Macys at the Smithhaven Mall. The escalators are always broken, the store is hot, the lines are always long, the employees are not nice-they never offer a coupon-they have no personality or are just annoying. The store is a mess. The dressing rooms in the jr. department are disgusting, They smell like a public restroom, there is writing on the walls, and they are dirty and the locks don't work properly. Okay. I love Macy's because they have amazing selections and, when you look hard enough, they have amazing deals. This particular location at Smith Haven Mall, though, needs some serious work in the customer service department. My strategy when I come into this particular Macy's is to raid the sale racks. They can be an absolute mess most of the times, but I think that's expected from almost every clearance section in every store. I love their selection and usually don't have a problem finding what I want and need. To be honest, I usually walk out with more than I was expecting. The shopping experience is great in that sense, but the moment you get to the counter to check-out, the goodness just plummets. I've never been in a department store that worked as slowly as this one. It took my cashier 15 minutes to ring up two items. TWO ITEMS! That sh!t be cray. Unfortunately, this is the closest Macy's to me, so I bite the bullet. If you're coming here, just come with patience. read more

OK, Maybe someone can explain to me why a store like Macy's fighting to survive decides to charge 3.00 for a box to place a child's coat in. Here is the story; my wife decides to buy our grand niece a Northface ski jacket, cost 159.00 plus tax. We take it to the cashier to pay, we ask for a box, we are told "This is a pilot store, we no longer provides boxes, I can sell you one for 3.00". Are they crazy . They really don't get it, anyone can buy the jacket on line for considerably less and get a box at the Dollar Store" for a dollar. I suggest the management reconsider, if they have any doubt about the value of consumer service have a look at the other department stores either near closing or closed. Maybe it's really not about the box, maybe it's about respectsing your consumer base. read more

Came here earlyish July. I bought a maxi dress from Manhasset & needed 1 size up so I drove 2 lake grove bc apparently they had 2 size 4's. I couldn't find them so I asked the girl @ the register & she was the sweetest & so helpful. Looked up the dress & went searching for it because she felt bad I drove this far & that size couldn't be found. She offered to order it for me & I said yes thx so much I just wanted to look @ something real quick & I would be right back. When I returned less than 5 mins later she wasn't there & a guy Blake was there instead. Blake should not be working with people. Honestly. I started to tell him what the situation was & he cut me off & said "yeah you're gonna order a dress I know". I said " oh ok, I'm sorry did the girl that was helping me leave?" He says " no". That's it & doesn't even look @ me! I say "she was so nice & so helpful". Nothing from Blake. As he's asking me my info he s asks for my drivers license & I ask why & he says "well If u want to tell me your address that's fine, I'm just trying to make it easier you". Um I'm sorry I didn't realize giving an address was such a time consuming task. This is getting to long but you get the gist of the rest of my time with awesome Blake. He became even ruder if that is Ben possible when I asked him if he knew how long it would take for the dress to arrive. He says "like everything else it takes about a week." The dress came 2 1/2 weeks later. I was nothing but pleasant to this young man & it was such a terrible experience I still think about it today. I'm so glad I don't live out there & have to shop in that store. What an unbelievable jerk. read more

How do I state this........ all you local Yelpers who can only muster 1 or 2 stars for your Macy's, I beg you to come to California where the stores are HALF this size with a mere HALF of the merchandise that your store boasts. Perhaps, what you don't know is that we do NOT get the same as you do, and as a result, WE should be giving the 1 or 2 stars out where we are...... you just don't know how good you have it. No offense, but it seems to be the issue here. Anyway, now that I've been to a few Macy's out there, I'm thinking this is what's wrong. As for me, I had so much fun just enjoying how much of everything this location has and how big it was....... and I bought some earrings. Woulda bought more, but I was only on vacation and haven't managed to win the lottery yet. I also know the Grande Dame of them all on 34th Street in Manhattan....... now THAT is HUUUUUUUUUGE.
