This was the first time I've had airbrush and I don't ever wear liquid foundation, so I had been worried about sweating or crying my makeup off on my wedding day, but Jacqueline promised that this wouldn't happen. She said I could sleep in the makeup and it would look the same the next day (except for the lips of course). So, I took that challenge and slept in the makeup overnight. And, in the morning, it still looked awesome! She is extremely talented, her pricing is reasonable, and she will travel to do the bride and bridesmaids' makeup on the wedding day.

She then tells me i might not be able to get my makeup done because they don't know when they'll be back in the store and they will be backed up because of the morning appointments that they're missing so panicked i call sephora explain what happened spoke to kerri who was an absolute angel and they said they're aware of what happened they'll be able to help me out if i wanna come in. Little did i know that i would be blessed with claudia who was so nice and extremely talented. Not only did she make sure i left looking absolutely amazing with a full face of beetle juice makeup but she was so friendly and funny and made me feel like she actually cared about how my makeup turned out, she didn't make me feel rushed or like it was an inconvenience at all. I had the most amazing experience at the MAC store in Lake Grove. I went in with the intention to learn how to apply make-up. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and expressed my intentions. I told the salesperson my intentions and he quickly told me his name, DAHYAN. He then asked some questions to help lead him to find the correct products for me. Dahyan took his time and explained step by step what he was doing. I loved the look and it was simple. He did not try to sell me things I didn't need and again gave me a step by step tutorial. As I was paying for my products, he again, walked me through the application so I would remember. Thank you Dahyan. I was referred to Alex by a friend of mine who Alex helped earlier in the week. I was looking to buy make up for my son's wedding that I would possibly have to apply myself. Alex was wonderful and listened to exactly what I said and redid things so that I would be comfortable. She spent a lot of time with me and in the end I left with all of the make up I needed and also with a diagram of exactly how to do the makeup. This was exactly what I was looking for. I visited Urban Decay in Macys a few days earlier and was unhappy with the make up I bought and returned most of it- I expected that they would give me a diagram also but instead it was just a handwritten note on the back of receipt paper. A few weeks ago I walked into MAC and had a great experience. The artist Tameema helped me find exactly what I was looking for and then made suggestions to meet my needs. I bought primer, foundation, and powder. I was so thrilled with my new products and the way she showed me how to apply them I went back and received a 30 minute make-over with make up artist Amanda. Amanda really listened to what I wanted to focus on and made recommendations that were the right fit for me. She taught me how to work with my new highlighter and showed me the appropriate brushes I needed for application. I'm thrilled with my tinted moisturizer, highlighter, concealer, mascara, and blush! I found this salon through social media and was immediately impressed by the work they shared so I contacted a stylist about booking an appointment and was told to come in for a consultation. After showing the stylist the color I wanted (i'll include the picture) I was quoted $370 for cut and color alone, at that point I made a quick decision and said F it i deserve this and booked the appointment. 2 days later after a full 8 hour shift, an hour and a half drive to the salon, and 4 hours in the chair I was BEYOND disappointed with the way it came out. Don't get me wrong the salon itself and the energy and the people working there are great but I am not the type of person to sit there and complain about the 4 hours of work someone had just done and was seemingly so proud of (as i believe most people can agree they would also bite their tongue in a situation like this) I would have said something had I known sooner than after the blowout, but when I'm sitting in a salon chair with no mirror in front of me for hours while 2 rounds of bleach are going on my head and I had no idea what it looked like the whole process what else am I meant to do but trust the stylist. So it wasn't until AFTER the blowout that I realized this was NOT AT ALL the color I had asked for. But I put a smile on my face and walked out the door after paying $370, went home and just cried over what I had just spent over half my paycheck on and now have to pay a different salon to fix because I refuse to go back to this place because I simply don't trust them..
