If I'm honest, I've never been a Sephora shopper, Namely because Shopping for beauty products has never been my "thing," and I get overwhelmed when store associates--who have nothing but good intentions--bombard me with suggestions for other products I should try. But that didn't happen this time. In fact, The customer service I received today was probably the best I've had. Kaila ball was the store associate who helped me. I told her what I was looking for, she LISTENED to what I said, found it for me, and also recommended a better fragrance that I ended up purchasing. What I really appreciated about Kayla was that she was respectful of my time, space, and not at all overbearing with her suggestions. I often avoid asking a lot of questions to avoid a situation where I feel like I'm being pressured to buy something I really am not sure I want. I did not feel that way with KAILA. I actually left the store that are in formed when it comes to the types of fragrances, undertones etc. As an attorney, I believe one of the best things you can do for a client is to educate them--that is, equip them with the knowledge to make an informed decision. Customer service is no different. Today, I left Sephora with my products, some free samples, and an education! Very impressed with Kaila's customer service and will definitely be back. read more

I personally am disappointed with this location. The reason why am I giving it a low review is due to the service that receive here. Especially from one woman that works there. One day I came in and was needing assistance with colors and this one lady helped me and she was absolutely AMAZING.. Naturally when I return, I want her to help me again. I swear the second time I swear she had a personality change or completely forgot who I was.. Bc when I approached her.. She already looked annoyed and looking everywhere else and SO not eager to help me find a nude lipstick color since they discontinued another line I used. Since she had an attitude.. Walking through the aisles rushing and picking up products and putting them don't not looking at me or talking.I decided to search that huge selection myself. I saw that bitch walk up to some other employee and start whispering and they both were laughing. I swear this lady was talking about me over their walkie talkie system to each other. By the time I found a shade and needed help... I approached the lady and they stopped laughing. After I returned again to get something else I needed the store manager noticed I had a pissed off look on my face she asked me what was wrong. She then realized that I was a VIB rouge member who literally has spent over 5k in sephora so she tried making stuff up to me by giving me cosmetic bags and filling it with makeup around the store. To this day that that evil fat ugly bitch still stares me down when she sees me and forcibly says do you need help lol she will always get a NO from me.Probably bc she got in trouble but I don't care lol I should have to flash my fancy credit cards around the store to get a level service. No way. The Willowbrook location held makeup for me all the time bc they got to know me and my needs. They need more staff available to help. read more

This location, I don't have a problem with, as I go during the week, I know better than to step foot in the Galleria on a Saturday-No thanks! They have recently redone their reward points, so yesterday when I stopped in to buy my Big Lash mascara, Smashbox concealer, and new LOVELY perfume, I was told I had points enough to get a Chris McMillan hair sampler, which had some good loot in it. Also, since my birthday is coming up, they gave me an extra gift which was a benefit bronzer and baby benefit mascara. SCORE! So back in my early twenties, I had a serious make-up hoarding problem. It would have legitimately brought a full grown drag queen to her knees and reduced her to tears! However, I credit this Sephora and my diminishing budget for curbing my obsession. I blame mostly MAC for my overflowing traincases and shoeboxes of mostly unused make-up - screw you MAC for having a new collection every month! Sephora on the other hand, offers more selection - as in more brands, but far less frequent releases and this somehow weaned me off my make-up habit. I guess the feeling that I didn't have to keep up? Oh yeah and that whole depleted bank account - yeah that really helped! Anyway, this was probably the first Sephora in Houston(?) and it's glorious. I love LORAC and Urban Decay - both are available here! Also NARS blushes - ladies . . . they are the best ever. I own all the powder blushes with the exception of two (so apparently I still have hoarding issues, AND?!) and they are the cat's meow. There's also a modest amount of men's products so no more listless boyfriends sitting outside, bored as heck! Sometimes the sales associates can be a little irritating . . . look lady, I don't need help - back off! But they can be useful if you're at loss as to where to locate your particular product or what product can satisfy your needs. In all honesty, I prefer to shop Sephora online because of the free samples (although you can extract fragrance samples from the SAs here every so often) and wider selection. But a little in-store perusing is necessary sometimes to test out the products before purchase. Be sure to join the Beauty Insider club if you haven't already - for every $100 you spend - you receive a deluxe sample. If you save up until 500 points - you can redeem your points for a specially reserved full sized product. Love Sephoras, all Sephoras, bu the one has a special place in my heart. read more

Don't get me wrong. When you walk into this this Sephora it is like a dream. This location is huge! At first I was doubting to go here because of lack of expertise on products, but the confidence that I gained from the staff at other Sephora stores in Houston made me do it. As walked in, asking for help was really difficult since it was during the weekend. When I finally got someone to help me match a foundation (I arrived barefaced), the person was pretty rude. I went into Sephora wanting a new fragrance but I wasn't quite sure which direction I wanted to go. I've worn Vera Wang Princess for years but have recently gotten tired of it. I was highly impressed by Sephora's interactive fragrance station which squirts notes from the various fragrance families and allows you to smell them. One of the women working that section, Alicia, came over and listened to what I was looking for, looked up Princess to see the notes it contained and was able to identify fragrances that I would like. She was fabulous, even after I told her I did not want to make a purchase that day. Unlike the women at Saks, she was as not bothered by this and didn't push me. She was extremely knowledgable and patient and I would highly recommend her. She gave me a sample of a fragrance I liked to see if I still liked it later, and I will definitely go back to purchase it. read more

As a makeup junkie/hoarder I really like this store. They recently revamped their "VIB" program and introduced a new highest tier known as VIB Rouge. Maybe I'm tacky but I like having the super chromed out red card and the great thing about being Rouge is that the staff knows you and knows that you probably know what you're looking for so they ultimately leave you to your own devices. I've heard people complain about staff supposedly pointing you to a more expensive product but I personally don't feel that this is the case. I was on the hunt for a good anti-aging wrinkle eye cream and was eyeing both the dior capture totale and the shiseido one. The rep I spoke to actually recommended an Algenist eye cream that was half the price of the other creams and thus far it's worked great! Overall I find the staff at this location friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely like how I can have unlimited access to the beauty studio now and appreciate the recommendations that the artists give me! If you are skin challenged or have any concerns they have a great return policy which allows you to return a product, even if used or opened, if it doesn't work out for any reason. I'll admit it--I get a bit claustrophobic. And when I do, I tend to get antsy and a tad bit bitchy. Which is why I tend to avoid Sephora. Without fail, when you go in there, you will be groped (usually unwittingly) by every single person you walk by. There just isn't enough room, regardless of how large the store--and this one is a decent size! I venture in there every once in a while to quickly grab what I need and escape to fresh air and people whose weight isn't mostly comprised of makeup. They always make a regular person feel so dowdy since everyone has their makeup done as if they're going to some red carpet event. They carry all the major brands of cosmetics and the aisles alone can be a bit overwhelming. There is just so much to look at. But that is both the best and worst part of Sephora. They are known for having samples available so you know what you're getting. I find this incredibly helpful. I hate wasting money on makeup that I don't end up using. Usually it just sits in a drawer until I see my sisters and I can dump it all on them. If you can actually elbow your way to a mirror, you can try things on to your heart's content before buying. My other major beef with this place (besides the crowds) are the smells. It just isn't a large enough space for all the perfumes that they have going on. People are spritzing left and right and your nostrils don't know what to do. I'm immediately left feeling lightheaded and a little disoriented. Perhaps that puts you into autopilot and causes you to spend more than you wanted to? Quite possible. This can become your best friend if you go on an off day. You'll have the whole store to yourself and plenty of space to try things out. Plus, the salespeople can actually be helpful when they're not being bombarded by hundreds of customers. read more

This isn't so much a judgment of "Sephora" in general as a comment on THIS particular location... There is indeed a really large selection here, but unfortunately, they are always out of their most popular items, such as Benefit's "They're Real Mascara." It's easier to walk over to Macy's where they have a fully equipped Benefit counter, with cosmetics reps who will not just see you as one of 50 costumers in the store. While understandably, they have a big problem with shoplifting, I don't appreciate feeling like someone is watching me like a hawk instead of being there when I need them. The most offensive thing about this Sephora location is its power to make any costumer who walks in feel soooo claustrophobic. Since this Sephora is in the Galleria, it's ALWAYS OVERCROWDED, and it isn't just because it's a high traffic location. It's because the store itself feels like you are walking into an outdated apartment's galley kitchen. It is long, narrow and VERY cramped. Going in there makes me hyperventilate . . . This Sephora doesn't have the ability to feel each costumer like their needs are being met, or like they are paying enough attention to what they are looking for- I avoid this location at all costs (My favorite Sephora is the one in Rice village), and it isn't difficult to do so in the Galleria. The thing about this Sephora is, there isn't really much that you can't find in dozens of other Galleria shops and department stores. read more

Very unprofessional. In an attempt to get an appointment for my gf for her birthday we ran through several errors with their technology. After 30 to 40 mins trying to get things to work we were able to schedule and appointment only to come a day later ON HER BIRTHDAY and find that THEIR employee booked our appointment for a store in a different state. We were then told we would have to wait because of their error, behind three clients labeled as "walk in's". I feel bad for the employees who tried to actually help and those who have been reduced to working behind a iPad and iPhone to run their operations/skills. Could not believe the attitudes for something THEY did wrong. Whoever the guy was that I spoke to you should change your attitude/customer service AND your makeup. I'm a huge "beauty-product-in-general" junkie. I am a HUGE fan of Sephora, and only come to Sephora to get all my beauty products. The reason i am giving this Sephora 3 out of 5 stars is because of the staff. Don't get me wrong, the staff was helpful, but they were also rude. My boyfriends mom and myself spent 1 hour in here splurging on products, but when we had any questions, every lady i asked was too busy to help. But, already having a few different ones at home that I wanted to use up, I didn't have the urgency to buy another immediately. As I was leaving, an employee named Roseitta stopped me asking if there was a perfume in particular I wanted. I told her what it was and explained my situation; she understood. As I was checking out, Roseitta provided me with 2 perfume samples of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle (the one I wanted) and 2 of Chanel Chance. If I could give a lower rating I would. My friend and I went to Sephora in the Galleria ON A MONDAY, to purchase some specific make-up products. By the way Monday June 26 2018 approximately around 3-4 pm was super slow, not one person assisted or even greeted us. There were several employees on working however If we tried to get their attention, immediately they would look the other way. I tracked two different women down to ask where this particular make-up was and both of them just pointed to the area. We were there for at least 30 minutes trying to give them the opportunity to help us, but also we made a specific trip for this tattoo cover-up. I am in the customer-service business, and if I did not love Sephora I would never go into another Sephora again. Management really needs to reevaluate their employees. read more

This is my wife absolute cosmetic store, she shop at Sephora almost every time we go to the mall. The staffs at Sephora are extremely helpful, if they see you looking for something they would come right at you and ask if you need any help to find anything. Great customer service. I was using my lunch break to pick a lipstick, therefore I was in a rush. I ask an associate where I can find the brand Stila lipstick called - Carmello. I did not get the sales associate name, however she took me where the lipstick was at. Went to the counter to pay, cashier was extremely nice & recommend to sign up for the reward program. This Sephora is bigger than the one at Rice Village, and with it being in the Galleria, it also contains some brands that you're not going to find at the Rice Village location (like Guerlain). The sales people are definitely busier here, and so you're not going to find that level of service (boredom?) that you find at the other location. There are plenty of things for you to look at while you're sitting in Sephora. I can spend way too long there while my fiance goes to look at the Microsoft and Sony stores nearby. Speaking of spending, make sure that you sign up for their rewards program because you wind up getting "free" deluxe sample sizes at different point levels. read more

Honestly the worst ! The customer service here is awful . I went and bought a perfume bottle to engrave for my sister and apparently only one individual knows how to operate the machine. I went there before to get perfume bottles engraved and the girl that I initially went to was sweet, patient and very helpful throughout the whole process. In this reason visit the guy kept walking away and talking to his friend who came in as a customer while I was just standing there waiting for him. I had to ask another worker to help who just ended up calling him over. He looked annoyed LIKE I WAS BOTHERING HIM? And no one was helpful. I came in because I had an emergency. I got a huge bruise the day before my graduation and needed to get it covered up. Luckily, they paired me with someone that had gone to a class on tattoo coverups. Marco was an absolute joy and was amazing! He color corrected and concealed the bruise perfectly. You could not even tell that it was there when he was done with it. You can tell that the people that work here really love their craft because everyone came to see how the bruise cover up was doing and what techniques Marco was using. At Mac, they had just piled on the foundation. It got the job done, but nothing compared to the perfection of Marco's and Sephora's techniques. I would definitely return here for an appointment which requires you buy $50 of products after your session. It's a bargain really since Sephora has such great products and consultants. read more

The hustle and bustle is never ending at The Galleria, so I get it - not every customer is going to receive the nicest treatment all day, everyday. Over time, I've gotten accustomed to finding my own products while sales associates stand around a chit chat. It's become the norm so I hardly even notice anymore. Today was different. I stopped a sales associate to ask about the new Becca Foundation that recently came out. She seemed annoyed and it seemed like I was hassling her, but I kept asking away anyhow because I was just that curious. Another associate nearby overheard and joined in the conversation and enthusiastically shared her opinions (and recommended other products) without me even asking. She had thorough knowledge about each product I asked about and patiently answered my questions. How refreshing! DO NOT go by the Google Hours. There's a chance they are wrong!!! You would do better calling the day before you plan on going or just going mid day while already in the mall. I called to inform staff, and I was given a drawn out history of their business hours in the past, as if I SHOULD HAVE known the google map hours posted for the week were wrong. I have been in several times and only a few times does someone actually offer to help me. Most of the time an employee cannot be found! Not sure if it's because it is in the mall and they know they will get traffic or if it's because lately that I've gone, It was during the holiday and the seasonal employees don't care. Either way, my last time I went, Josh helped me and was very helpful in finding a specific item. Later, I was just looking and wanted to get an eye shadow palette and there was none on the shelf. I bent down and looked in the drawer and an employee came to me and almost screamed at me that if I needed something I need to find someone to open the drawer. I told her I didn't know but the one I wanted was out so I grabbed another one. She said that one you have has plenty stocked on the shelf. I reiterated that I wanted a different one and she said oh ya we are out of that one but don't open the drawer next time. All of the employees were so nice and helpful when I had the weirdest question about a VIB email offer from a week ago. They went above and beyond my expectations!! This is an update review. I don't like going to sephora so much because I feel like shoppers take advantage; they're mostly ill mannered, sloppy, and have no respect in regards to the store's presentation and ppl that work there. I can imagine it would be hard as an employee to tell a person "shopping" to stop opening packages thatre meant to buy and to test the testers. And some will bring in kids that will just mess up the make up on purpose. I don't know how this location can fix this. This would be a hard fix. This isn't sephora's fault. I will say some of the employees still seem uninformed and uppity. But I want to say, I like to go and see what's new in person and if I do decide to buy something, I hope the guy with the amazing hair is there at check out. Drool emoji. read more

My name is Chatara Lewis and I had an incredible experience at the Sephora location Houston Galleria.  From the time I walked in to the time I left, everyone had a smile, greeted me and made me feel important. I  booked an appointment for a Customized Make Up Application and mini facial. My Makeup artist Sarah Banghi was there ready and waiting for me to arrive. When I sat down she asked what goals I have and what I wanted to accomplish. She was very into my needs and very knowledgeable. She asked if I had specific products that I like and suggested new products for me to try. Sarah introduced me to the skin therapist Rayven from Peter Thomas Roth. Raven was so great to work with and had some great ideas also. She did my Mini Facial and she was excellent.   After my mini facial Sarah brought the new products we chose and starting matching my colors. Since I have a very unique look, the Color IQ system was very important to me. The Color IQ system is incredible; it creates three photos of your skin, averages the photos and gives the consultant an average number to work with. Sarah found the correct products that match up perfectly with my skin to give me the best look.  She did an excellent job applying foundation, creating a new look for my eye shape and high cheek bones to customize my features. She taught me some new techniques that I will use to create a new look and help enhance my natural look. I can't say enough about my experience, but would urge all you ladies to give this a try. You will come out looking beautiful and learn some incredible new applications. While you're there, they can help you pick out some new products that you can use every day of your life. Do not go to this store if you need guidance/assistance before buying anything. Only go here if you know exactly what you want to buy. They have the WORST staff I've ever seen. No one has an idea about the products. Every staff member on the floor has an attitude. They are not helpful at all, they don't make you feel welcome. It seems like they all don't want to be there I came to buy a concealer but the person was HORRIBLE and wasn't interested in helping me get the right color. I ended up going to Neiman Marcus few steps away and they were amazing, they answered all questions and assisted me with great customer service. Usually it's pretty hard to find an available beauty person to help with any questions I may have, but I was surprisingly able to find one yesterday with no problem. She wasn't really that nice nor friendly like the others I've worked with in the past though. Seemed as if I was bothering her. Sephora is my favorite make up store, and they usually have all the make up necessities I need. I love love Sephora but this review is about this actual location. I had never been to this sephora before, becasue I am from out of town. But my friend took me to this mall and we came here. We had a nice time looking at everything and shopping around. At one point my friend and I were at different parts of the store. When I looked up and was looking around for her, one of the (two?) employees watching me (making sure I wasn't shoplifting I guess??!) says to me: "Mom went that way." and points in my friends direction. WHOA! My friend was so insulted. Yes, she is older then me and I am sure others may have thought that we were mother-daughter but you don't say things like that. It is like asking a woman how old she is. And the employee didn't actually say it in a helpful or happy way...it was almost a sneer. Like she was amused I was out shopping with my mommy! {italics here} My friend didn't want to go back after that. She kept asking me why people thought that two woman, who are of different ages couldn't go out shopping together? She was a bit humiliated. And I agree with some of the other reviews, the place needs some cleaning up so I took off another star. All those employees standing around watching their costumers for stealing should pick up a broom. They kept following me around the store and I understand shoplifting is a big deal and companies lose a lot of money but they should at least try to mask it by being helpful. Manners please! read more
