I just want to start off by saying that I have worked in retail for a couple of years, so I am completely aware of how chaotic a retail environment can be. I have worked in a flagship store for a well-known company, where there was constant tension and stress, yet we were able to satisfy almost each and every customer. That being said, this is one of the most unprofessional Sephora locations I have ever been to. The workers are always in the corners chit-chatting among themselves. I always have a hard time getting any type of customer service when I come to this location. I should've read other people's review and just gone to another Sephora. It is seriously the worst Sephora I've been too. There were associates standing around doing nothing and didn't even acknowledge the customers. I know Sephora can get pretty chaotic at times, but if there's a customer right next to you at least try greeting them. On top of that, no one knows anything at this store and have serious attitude problems!! Especially if you're returning something, they look at you like you've committed a crime. I went into Sephora to get the Hourglass foundation stick but didn't know what shade I was, so I asked to get my color IQ...10min later I was helped, the employee who helped me wasn't very helpful and paired me with a shade that made my face look pale and obviously wasn't my shade. I went and asked another rep to get my color IQ, her name was Victoria and she was amazing! All the other employees made it seem like I was bothering them and rushed thought my questions but Victoria was genuine and she actually helped! We had similar skin and she suggested the Too faced born this way foundation which I love and the coconut 3 in 1 spray. Had it not been for her I would've left with a foundation I didn't love (and the shade that obviously wasn't the one for me) and I wouldn't have gotten the great customer service she provided. I've been to this Sephora in the mall a few times. Its a little small - but it has a better selection than the JCPenny-based stores. It gets crowded, but this Sephora doesnt let the line build up - they can't - they don't have the space. They add cashiers when they need to. So while the line may look packed, it moves fast. The people who work there have always been helpful. Three or four people might ask if you need help, but they're not annoying about it. I appreciate that. read more

I'm honestly floored by the negative reviews. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. Even when I've had to return several items without a receipt, they were kind and patient. I've shopped at this Sephora a few times and every time it was super busy. The last time I was there, there were a good amount of associates working on the floor but most of them were preoccupied with other customers. I couldn't find the product I needed but when I did get ahold of an associate, she told me they were out of stock and referred me to the next closes location and their online store, which I thought was a great of her to suggest an alternative. I give this Sephora 2 stars for the only 2 employees here that showed courtesy and kindness. I entered the store and walked around the store countless times because I could not find what I was looking for. I can't tell you how many staff members just looked at me and kept on moving not even bothering to ask if I needed any help. They looked at me as if I were below them honestly and not once stopped to offer me any assistance when they all were clearly not busy. The only help I received was from a kind employee and that was because I stopped her and asked her myself for assistance. She, thankfully, was helpful even though the item I wanted was not available. The other star goes to the cashier who was very friendly and kind. She had a smile on her face and made me feel like a valued customer. The rest of the staff should take some pointers from her and treat their customers with the same respect and kindness the cashier showed me. Hands down the best team in any Sephora anywhere. This joint is always jumping, what with being located right smack in the middle of Queens Center Mall and all. And the teenagers that pack this place wall to wall during the after school hours are no joke either. And yet through all of that volume and chaos, you'll never see this staff sweat. They are polite and friendly, and always zero in on me when I need assistance, but somehow know when to just give me the space to play and shop too. I get samples when I'm legitimately interested in something with no hassle (other stores have not been so accommodating to me in the past. I feel like Roosevelt Field wants my Social Security number before I can get a single drop of moisturizer). And the recommendations are clutch. I've never been suggested a product that I didn't go on to really like (and often repurchase). Even when it's super busy, I don't think I've ever waited more than a few minutes for help. It's pretty clean, and the testers are always available. They are also always stocked up on the disposable sponges, applicators, makeup remover, tissues, and so on. I am a VIB rouge for Sephora and I love the company, but this locations customer service needs to be reworked. They made me feel like I was stealing something in the store just because I kept looking around for things. The staff there did not ask me if I wanted help for an hour in the store and when they finally asked me, it was when I already had things in my cart. I don't think I will come back to shopping here. I will just shop online where they will give you samples. Also, I went to sephora today and there was a customer complaining about the treatment she had in the store and I agree they are really horrible. They did not even apologize and would not look at her in the eye. I looked at the makeup artist for help there and she ignored me until I actually said something. don't even bother coming here!! sephora employee in this location is just plain rude.. they stand around doing nothing and when asked for help they act busy.. So I've asked for a foundation sample to try out the color shade and how my skin will react to it before comitting to buying the full price but one of the lady who i ask to give me the sample completely ignored me at first.. she was talking to her coworker and didnt even acknowledge me.. Anyways,as soon as i got home I opened the little container that she gave me with the foundation sample but i noticed that the consistency of the foundation is completely different from the bottle.. the one on the bottle was very pigmented and not watery.. I don't know what she put in it but it was very watery/oily and super diluted.. it spills everywhere I can't even swatched it properly.. And whatever she mix on the foundation smells so chemically like old makeup or somethin.. smells like plastic.. complete garbage!! So i didn't even bother to try it on my face.. I really don't know what her deal is for being so rude like that and I'm too pissed to even bother coming back... I don't understand why this Sephora location has such a low rating scale! I always come to this location and I always get everything I need and want. The staff are really helpful and knowledgable. I became a VIB from this location because I am here so often. It's a good sized store with all the typical Sephora name brands. They accept credit cards without hassle and always remind you of your points available on the way out. The lines are sometimes long but they move very quickly. This Sephora is located right in the middle of the Queens Shopping Center on Queens Boulevard, just a hop, skip and a jump from Starbucks! Lastly, many of the products at Sephora are a bit on the pricey side but that is not Sephora's fault, it is because the prestige name-brand companies want their products to be sold at a certain price. I visited the Sephora in the Queens Center Mall today and I almost walked right out. When I entered the store it didn't look extremely busy so I browsed for just a brief moment. I knew what I wanted but I was going to need some help. Two associates walked right by me that clearly weren't doing anything and I became annoyed. As I turned to leave a beautiful young lady named Daniella stopped me and asked I if found everything ok. I told her no but I would try to stop in another day. She asked why and I advised her that I did need help but no one seemed to want to avail themselves. She said "I can help you!" and this is the exact energy I was looking for. She walked me over to my desired selection and proceeded to make some recommendations...even tested a few products. I was happy on the inside! Daniella was honest with her answers when I asked questions and made me want to buy from her. She truly has a tremendous spirit! Sephora if I wasn't for her, I would have walked out and told every single one of my friends about this experience but Daniella saved the day. Thank you so much! SHE GETS 5 STARS!!! I tried several times to get someone to assist me with my beauty needs and questions and all the employees ignored me or walked away. When I finally got to ask my ONE questions (asking if they have a primer in stock), she just scoffed and left! Excuse me, but that's not very good customer service. My sister and I asked multiple employees for adivice on serval products not one employee seemed to care or acknowlege us. I went to the Sephora in the mall with pretty low expectations as my previous experiences left me wanting more. However, I had such a wonderful time! I walked in with a friend who was far more excited than I was but after being greeted warmly by someone at the door I felt comfortable enough to ask her about lip colors. I ended up asking Michelle who was willing to help, incredibly knowledgeable about colors and who appeared to genuinely want to help me find colors I liked and that would suit me well. I really appreciated the time she spent with me but she had to leave and pointed out someone else who could help. Daysa, who I asked for help later was very kind and honest and made me smile a ton with her bright personality. I feel really lucky to have gone today and could not have asked for a better experience. I am huge on makeup and probably buy hundreds of dollars in it each month. This sephora is disgusting and such a damn mess that I would rather go to the one inside JC penny. The testers here are never where they're supposed to be so it makes it really unpleasant to shop here. Then the testers that are actually out are smashed, broken, messy, cracked, you name it. Also, many products aren't even in stock and everything is missing. I've also experienced such a rude employee here to top it off. This thin black girl with long fake hair gave me attitude when I wanted to see an eyelash curler out of the box because they had no tester out and I was already exchanging one that I previously bought and was unsatisfied with so I did not want that happening again. She took it out of the box didn't even let me look at it for one second let alone touch it and threw it back in the box. When I politely asked her if i can see it again since I didn't get a good look, her response was "you already saw it". Really bitch? I would give this location 0 stars if I could. I have gone in there several times and the staff has always been rude. One day I walked in there and had asked for help from 3 different staff members and every one was unhelpful and rude. One I asked to help me find a shade of foundation that properly matched my skin tone. Instead of telling me she was busy or wanted to chat with her coworkers she picked one of the shelf, put it on my skin, and seeing that it was at least two shades too dark and way too yellow told me it perfectly fit my skin tone. It is also extremely frustrating that I went at times where there weren't many people in there and no one offers you help. I had to ask for help and even then they were more concerned with getting back to chatting with their coworkers than helping me.
