Terrible service. I went around looking for help after I couldn't figure out my shade for the hourglass foundation I wanted to try. I finally found someone standing around so I asked if she could help and she let all associates know I needed help. However I stood there waiting and no one came to help. On my way out the lady decides to tell me " have a good night . Sorry ". Such a waste of time and I really really wanted to get that foundation. This wasn't the first time I couldn't get help at this location. read more

I'm honestly floored by the negative reviews. The staff here is so friendly and helpful. Even when I've had to return several items without a receipt, they were kind and patient. This location is super crowded and so it can be difficult to locate an employee on the sales floor, but if you are patient they will definitely be able to help you with a smile. read more

I just want to start off by saying that I have worked in retail for a couple of years, so I am completely aware of how chaotic a retail environment can be. I have worked in a flagship store for a well-known company, where there was constant tension and stress, yet we were able to satisfy almost each and every customer. That being said, this is one of the most unprofessional Sephora locations I have ever been to. The workers are always in the corners chit-chatting among themselves. I always have a hard time getting any type of customer service when I come to this location. Whenever I am desperate and do decide to purchase from here, the employees always manage to reinforce the reason that this location is not one of my top three, in fact a hundred, choices. read more

Their customer service is so bad. They need to train their sales associates on customer service. One of the sales associate was making fun of my friends makeup and gossiping about her makeup with her other colleague just in front of us!!!!!! I couldn't see the girls name but next time if I go there I will definitely look for that girl and call corporate. They are literally racists!!! They don't even deserve one start. Shame on your customer service. They would serve you according to your get up and looks. read more

I've been to this Sephora in the mall a few times. Its a little small - but it has a better selection than the JCPenny-based stores. It gets crowded, but this Sephora doesnt let the line build up - they can't - they don't have the space. They add cashiers when they need to. So while the line may look packed, it moves fast. The people who work there have always been helpful. Three or four people might ask if you need help, but they're not annoying about it. I appreciate that. read more

I went into Sephora to get the Hourglass foundation stick but didn't know what shade I was, so I asked to get my color IQ...10min later I was helped, the employee who helped me wasn't very helpful and paired me with a shade that made my face look pale and obviously wasn't my shade. I went and asked another rep to get my color IQ, her name was Victoria and she was amazing! All the other employees made it seem like I was bothering them and rushed thought my questions but Victoria was genuine and she actually helped! We had similar skin and she suggested the Too faced born this way foundation which I love and the coconut 3 in 1 spray. Had it not been for her I would've left with a foundation I didn't love (and the shade that obviously wasn't the one for me) and I wouldn't have gotten the great customer service she provided. Victoria deserves the credit, while other employees were too busy talking to pay me any mind she came by and solved all my problems. Thanks again Victoria, keep doing what you do :) read more

I've shopped at this Sephora a few times and every time it was super busy. The last time I was there, there were a good amount of associates working on the floor but most of them were preoccupied with other customers. I couldn't find the product I needed but when I did get ahold of an associate, she told me they were out of stock and referred me to the next closes location and their online store, which I thought was a great of her to suggest an alternative. I ended up making a purchase at this location anyway. The cashier was ok, but she could have been a little more friendly! Overall, not a bad experience. I'll be shopping here again! read more

I give this Sephora 2 stars for the only 2 employees here that showed courtesy and kindness. I entered the store and walked around the store countless times because I could not find what I was looking for. I can't tell you how many staff members just looked at me and kept on moving not even bothering to ask if I needed any help. They looked at me as if I were below them honestly and not once stopped to offer me any assistance when they all were clearly not busy. The only help I received was from a kind employee and that was because I stopped her and asked her myself for assistance. She, thankfully, was helpful even though the item I wanted was not available. The other star goes to the cashier who was very friendly and kind. She had a smile on her face and made me feel like a valued customer. The rest of the staff should take some pointers from her and treat their customers with the same respect and kindness the cashier showed me. I honestly enjoy using Sephora products but if I have to encounter most of the staff that I encountered today, I will most likely NOT be returning to this location. read more

SEPHORA - Great purchase but less than wonderful shopping experience today - Skin Care Near Me - Elmhurst, New York

I've been to a bunch of Sephora's all over NYC and I've never really had a good experience because the employees are usually really busy. My perception of Sephora's customer service defiantly changed when I visited this location yesterday. One employee in particular, Michelle, was amazing! She taught me a lot of makeup tips and tricks. I will definitely return to this location! read more

I don't understand why this Sephora location has such a low rating scale! I always come to this location and I always get everything I need and want. The staff are really helpful and knowledgable. I became a VIB from this location because I am here so often. It's a good sized store with all the typical Sephora name brands. They accept credit cards without hassle and always remind you of your points available on the way out. The lines are sometimes long but they move very quickly. This Sephora is located right in the middle of the Queens Shopping Center on Queens Boulevard, just a hop, skip and a jump from Starbucks! Lastly, many of the products at Sephora are a bit on the pricey side but that is not Sephora's fault, it is because the prestige name-brand companies want their products to be sold at a certain price. I believe if you are discontent with any product you buy, they will return it for a full refund. read more

don't even bother coming here!! sephora employee in this location is just plain rude.. they stand around doing nothing and when asked for help they act busy.. So I've asked for a foundation sample to try out the color shade and how my skin will react to it before comitting to buying the full price but one of the lady who i ask to give me the sample completely ignored me at first.. she was talking to her coworker and didnt even acknowledge me.. So i tried to approach her again and nicely ask her to give me the sample but she was giving me a deep sigh and grab the foundation from my hand and told me to wait for a second.. she walk away, then came back 5 mins later acting like she's in a hurry cuz she's busy doing something.. so i said thank you and she didn't even response she just walked away.. i don't know why she treated me like that.. is it because I'm asian?! Sigh so i went home and i was excited to try out the foundation.. I asked for Marc Jacob Remarcable foundation btw.. Anyways,as soon as i got home I opened the little container that she gave me with the foundation sample but i noticed that the consistency of the foundation is completely different from the bottle.. the one on the bottle was very pigmented and not watery.. I don't know what she put in it but it was very watery/oily and super diluted.. it spills everywhere I can't even swatched it properly.. And whatever she mix on the foundation smells so chemically like old makeup or somethin.. smells like plastic.. complete garbage!! So i didn't even bother to try it on my face.. I really don't know what her deal is for being so rude like that and I'm too pissed to even bother coming back... Beware if you asked for any sample.. check it right away just in case you get the same rude piece of shit mofos that was "helping" me.. read more

Staff is pretty friendly, however, they usually do not carry items that I am specifically looking for. This particular location tends to get very crowded. read more

Hands down the best team in any Sephora anywhere. This joint is always jumping, what with being located right smack in the middle of Queens Center Mall and all. And the teenagers that pack this place wall to wall during the after school hours are no joke either. And yet through all of that volume and chaos, you'll never see this staff sweat. They are polite and friendly, and always zero in on me when I need assistance, but somehow know when to just give me the space to play and shop too. I get samples when I'm legitimately interested in something with no hassle (other stores have not been so accommodating to me in the past. I feel like Roosevelt Field wants my Social Security number before I can get a single drop of moisturizer). And the recommendations are clutch. I've never been suggested a product that I didn't go on to really like (and often repurchase). Even when it's super busy, I don't think I've ever waited more than a few minutes for help. It's pretty clean, and the testers are always available. They are also always stocked up on the disposable sponges, applicators, makeup remover, tissues, and so on. So thank you Dusaenka, Noelle, Anna, Jen, Ty, Maura, Dashley, and everyone else! read more

I am a VIB rouge for Sephora and I love the company, but this locations customer service needs to be reworked. They made me feel like I was stealing something in the store just because I kept looking around for things. The staff there did not ask me if I wanted help for an hour in the store and when they finally asked me, it was when I already had things in my cart. I don't think I will come back to shopping here. I will just shop online where they will give you samples. Also, I went to sephora today and there was a customer complaining about the treatment she had in the store and I agree they are really horrible. They did not even apologize and would not look at her in the eye. I looked at the makeup artist for help there and she ignored me until I actually said something. This place is truly something else. read more

This location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried several times to get someone to assist me with my beauty needs and questions and all the employees ignored me or walked away. They all had a higher than thou attitude and were not willing to help at all. I definitely won't be giving my business to this location in the future. There should be better training on customer service and how to treat clients. read more

Don't even bother with this location. Go to the one in JCPenney. The staff here are so rude. It took me 15 minutes to flag down one of their employees. When I finally got to ask my ONE questions (asking if they have a primer in stock), she just scoffed and left! Excuse me, but that's not very good customer service. They have no desire to help you unless you're willing to buy $500 worth of makeup. That's not even an isolated incident. It's just always so rude with their staff. Not to mention, the staff are not the most knowledgable when it comes to makeup. I asked where the Bite lipsticks where and one of the staffers looked at me like they had no idea what it was! Oh let's not forget the dirty testing areas. Like I said in the beginning, just go to the one in JCPenney. They actually go up to you and ask if you need anything, there's less people and it's just a more quiet and cleaner environment than here. read more

I visited the Sephora in the Queens Center Mall today and I almost walked right out. When I entered the store it didn't look extremely busy so I browsed for just a brief moment. I knew what I wanted but I was going to need some help. Two associates walked right by me that clearly weren't doing anything and I became annoyed. As I turned to leave a beautiful young lady named Daniella stopped me and asked I if found everything ok. I told her no but I would try to stop in another day. She asked why and I advised her that I did need help but no one seemed to want to avail themselves. She said "I can help you!" and this is the exact energy I was looking for. She walked me over to my desired selection and proceeded to make some recommendations...even tested a few products. I was happy on the inside! Daniella was honest with her answers when I asked questions and made me want to buy from her. She truly has a tremendous spirit! Sephora if I wasn't for her, I would have walked out and told every single one of my friends about this experience but Daniella saved the day. Thank you so much! SHE GETS 5 STARS!!! The rest of this location gets a three, this location wouldn't be my first choice to shop if I needed to run to Sephora in the future. I would order on-line read more

the sales associates at this sephora location are terrible with the exception of one or two, i believe one of the nice girls is called yasmin, her makeovers are amazing. take your business elsewhere until sephora hires nicer employees. read more

I had booked an appointment for a mini makeover two weeks in advance to help find a foundation that my skin would like with the NYC air. After waiting around 20 minutes past my appointment time, and multiple attempts to flag someone down, I finally was able to get someone's attention. The customer service here is terrible. read more

Horrible experience at this paticular Sephora, never steping a foot there again ! Empolyees were extremely RUDE. My sister and I asked multiple employees for adivice on serval products not one employee seemed to care or acknowlege us. Empolyees were standng around making up excuses as to why they couldnt help us , one of the empolyees told us they weren't able to assist us beacause she couldnt move from her station. Yet she didn't have to move to answer our question, didn't even let us speak she was determined not to help us. Such a shame Sephora hires such incompetent, lazy staff. read more

I went to the Sephora in the mall with pretty low expectations as my previous experiences left me wanting more. However, I had such a wonderful time! I walked in with a friend who was far more excited than I was but after being greeted warmly by someone at the door I felt comfortable enough to ask her about lip colors. I ended up asking Michelle who was willing to help, incredibly knowledgeable about colors and who appeared to genuinely want to help me find colors I liked and that would suit me well. I really appreciated the time she spent with me but she had to leave and pointed out someone else who could help. Daysa, who I asked for help later was very kind and honest and made me smile a ton with her bright personality. I feel really lucky to have gone today and could not have asked for a better experience. I wish they carried more brands that were concerned about their ethical practices and the impact they have on the world but I was really happy to go today. read more

Every time I've come in here I already knew what I wanted so I didn't need to get a worker's opinion, so that may have colored my experiences. That said, I haven't ever had a negative experience here. This is my favorite Sephora location! read more

This is honestly the worst sephora I've ever been to. Normally sephora is an incredible expletives EVERYTIME I go. But in this sephora the customer is trashy, none of the workers acknowledge you and I felt victimized because I was a guy and I was looking for a shade in a certain foundation and I asked 3 girls and none of them helped me, I literally stood there for 15-20 mins waiting for her to finish whatever she was doing. She claimed to be helping another customer and I thought that was okay until that customer walked out and she completely passed my by, I even asked her to help me. read more

Never again i went to buy a new foundation and needed help to match my skin with the foundation and when someone went to help me another worker told her she had to help those on a wait list since when you need to put your name on a wait for help and it was a long wait theres no need to wait almost an hour for help read more

Came to this Sephora to do my makeup for prom and i can say that the lady who did my makeup was the best!! I am huge on makeup and probably buy hundreds of dollars in it each month. This sephora is disgusting and such a damn mess that I would rather go to the one inside JC penny. The testers here are never where they're supposed to be so it makes it really unpleasant to shop here. Then the testers that are actually out are smashed, broken, messy, cracked, you name it. Also, many products aren't even in stock and everything is missing. I've also experienced such a rude employee here to top it off. This thin black girl with long fake hair gave me attitude when I wanted to see an eyelash curler out of the box because they had no tester out and I was already exchanging one that I previously bought and was unsatisfied with so I did not want that happening again. She took it out of the box didn't even let me look at it for one second let alone touch it and threw it back in the box. When I politely asked her if i can see it again since I didn't get a good look, her response was "you already saw it". Really bitch? Do you really think I'm looking to steal or something when I'm right in your face? Haha what a joke for a $20.00 eyelash curler. What a loser and I reported her attitude with me to the manager. Sephora hires the worst people and that is proven almost every time. Then another time I came in, this tall heavy male employee with blue hair walked by me and stunk SO badly like B.O. How disgusting. To think he spends all day in a store that has perfume and body products and smells that bad. This place is a hot mess. Get it together. I'll only step foot in here again when there are absolutely no other options. read more

DO NOT go here for a makeover. The girls they hire and have the nerve to put on the floor to do a makeover you booked weeks in advance for a special night have no real training or expertise in anything. How does a "makeup artist" doing your makeup for a special night tell you " sorry eyeliner wings really aren't my thing" the girls who are in charge of handling the clipboard could not care less about customers, they would much rather socialize among themselves. POOR MANAGEMENT and even WORST TRAINING. I repeat DO NOT GO HERE FOR A MAKEOVER!!! DO NOT TRUST THESE UNEXPERIENCED WORKERS TO TOUCH YOUR FACE. Also, the shelves are always a mess this place is disgusting and infections waiting to happen. THE STAFF DOES NOT CARE. They can barely do their job much less take care of you as a "client" this location is a joke and just a way to get money not to provide an experience. I am very disappointed you allow this location to operate like this Sephora! God forbid you ask fir a sample it's like you're asking for a kidney read more

I would give this location 0 stars if I could. I have gone in there several times and the staff has always been rude. One day I walked in there and had asked for help from 3 different staff members and every one was unhelpful and rude. One I asked to help me find a shade of foundation that properly matched my skin tone. Instead of telling me she was busy or wanted to chat with her coworkers she picked one of the shelf, put it on my skin, and seeing that it was at least two shades too dark and way too yellow told me it perfectly fit my skin tone. It is also extremely frustrating that I went at times where there weren't many people in there and no one offers you help. I had to ask for help and even then they were more concerned with getting back to chatting with their coworkers than helping me. Now I won't make purchases from Sephora, I will only shop at Ulta or directly from the specific makeup brand's website. read more
