Walked into this place the other day and was immediately greeted by an associate. I explained what I was looking for and that I needed to try it out before buying, since I have so many allergies. She located the shade I needed, asked me to give her a few moments, then came back with a small sample to go with. This Sephora isn't as big as the stores on their own but for being in a JCPenny's it's decent size. I'd love to go to other Sephora locations but I could spend an hour plus just browsing at the stuff this location has. I'm always asked if I need assistants when I walk in. I've maybe been there 3 times in the last week. I had a great experience with Monica today. The only customer service issue I have is the only guy that works there. He always seems to have an attitude or chip on his shoulder every single time I have been there. He isn't nice & friendly like everyone else I have delt with at this location. I am always so pleased with the service at this location. I get most of my cosmetics now from Sephora. I have been assisted by Marisol 3 times now, and every time she is professional, courteous, and takes the time to help me find what I need. Aside from that, I had bought a compact 3wks earlier that I dropped and shattered, I asked for a discount on another one, but instead they gave me an exchange - so I didn't have to buy one. Minus the fact that this is a TINY Sephora and they are sold out of a lot of stuff most the time the girls who work there are really sweet in particular a girl with purple hair (can't remember her name) helped me for a good 45 minutes trying to figure out a color match for me. SHE FOUND THE PERFECT COLOR and she was awesome, sweet and made me feel very comfortable. I will be returning for sure. I have been visiting Sephora for the last ten years and I have always loved their services. I love makeup so I do take many trips to a variety of Sephora stores. Recently I ran out of foundation and I forgot the shade I was fitted for. The lady that helped me was so incredibly kind and helping. She scanned my face and explained to me everything that she was doing. She toured me around showing me all kinds of brands of foundation, foundations that I didn't even know I would love. She picked a couple of shades and tried them on my face and she asked how I liked them. I told her I didn't like the orangish tone it had to it. She was very patient and funny. She told me it made me look super orange. Although this may seem like she was bad at her job by not knowing how to match colors; she was at least interactive and fun. I enjoyed her company. When she found my shade she tried it on me and I loved it. She did a great job of putting it on. The other workers were also so nice, telling me it looked great. They asked me if I would try some adventurous makeup and we all had a blast laughing. It was truly a genuine experience. Thank you Sephora and Staff! read more

Came into the JC Penny's to come to Sephora. This Sephora is bigger than the one at Mission Valley, with tons of selection and super nice customer service making for a pleasant shopping experience. My only qualm is that they didn't have enough Stila lip glaze on stock and couldn't offer up an alternate solution. Only manage to find one box of the glazes. But there is one thing for Sephora I like is the bonuses and discounts you get for being a frequent shopper. This particular location is a great location to test out new stuff as well. It's of course inside the JC Penny's inside the Parkway Plaza mall. Easy to get to. Park near the JC Pennys and you are in a jiffy. read more

This is a joke of a beauty store and a shame to all Sephora's. I have been here many times in the last year as it's super close to my home, but after today I will never return. The store is filthy, the associates are not knowledgeable, and they never stock their shelves so I didn't expect much. But today was just awful...I received the worst service from Kimmie and the Asian "manager" with the lip piercing. They denied my BRAND NEW return from 3 weeks ago..why you ask? Because I bought it at a different location. They had no proof to back up what they were saying as the return policy does not say you must return the product where you purchased it. The manager and her two associates just continued to gang up on me, make up lies about their "policies", and tell me I was wrong in front of a bunch of people. I am not a constant returner, am a VIB member, and even work in the beauty industry and I don't appreciate being disrespected. Hope you're happy you saved $11 on my lousy return. You have lost a customer for life. I'd much rather shop at Ulta in the same mall where they value their customers! read more

The only reason I am even bothering to give the 2 stars I did is because of the fact it is a Sephora and what girl doesn't enjoy what Sephora has to offer? I however do not believe I will return to this location or any other Sephora inside of a JC Pennys. I would like to say this about the customer service and that is... Ok Sephora employees, there is such a thing as overly excessive in your face customer service. It is just as bad as visiting a car dealership and having 10 people approach you at different intervals only 5 minutes apart with questions about what it is you need and how they can help. I already told one person thanks but if I have any questions I will certainly ask. After many previous years ago working as a store manager for Sav-On Drugs I can and do certainly understand that there is probably a lot of theft occurring here because of the type of items they sell. This does not however mean that everyone is thieving or stealing and so therefore the over the top customer service provided as a scare tactic is really off putting and annoying to the people that just want to be left alone to enjoy the experience and shop. read more

WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EVER! There was 6 girls working and none of them were willing to help.. When I asked for assistance the girl sat me down and completely forgot about me, started ringing people up. It was awful! I'm always apprehensive about going into other Sephora locations because of the lack of customer service and attitude that I've received for years from their staff. I've been coming to this location ever since they opened, and have been more than pleased with Keisha in particular. In comparison to the other staff, Keisha always proves herself to be knowledgable and incredibly helpful. I am not dramatizing when I say that she is the most helpful worker that I've encountered in all my years of coming to Sephora! It's small, but if ur quick enough you'll get lucky and get all the best sellers and what not. My only issue with this particular store is the sh***y customer service. Their has only been ONE sweet girl who was actually helpful and professional. I forgot her name to be honest, but she was a young brunette white girl. (Lol) the one guy I've seen there every other time I go has such an attitude. Along with some older lady with very little to no hair that wears these huge eye glasses who follows u literally all over the place. It's pretty obvious she's doing it to make sure u don't steal anything. At least do it from a distance. Dang. And this one girl I asked if she could match me for foundation, was such a snob and was so quick about it as if she didn't want to help me with my other questions. AMAZING! At this location I always receive kind and and excellent service. I went in a few days ago and got assisted by this lovely young blonde named Kisha. She was very kind and educated about all the products she hucked me up the the Naked Urban Decay Concealer, Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, Becca Champagne Pop, and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz. Hit or miss. Sometimes the employees ate energetic,nice and helpful. And sometimes they are rude and cant stop talking amongst eachother. If you try to ask a question, they make you feel like you are being rude for interrupting. (i dont mind employees talking with eachother. But i have literally stood there for well over 10min and they cant be bothered with you) also they never have the samples that you get in your email. They always say oh no we dont have that. Only the stand alone stores have those. Umm the email says only at sephora inside JC Penny. If you ask for a sample to try something, they act like you are asking for a sample out of theor own makeup collection. Cant you at least give me enough for one full application. read more
