Let me first start out with I was originally a patient of Dr. Pousti. I cannot believe Dr. Pousti sold his clientelle to Dr. Chou. I'm embarrassed to say I had 5 procedures with Dr. Chou in a matter of 1 yr 1/2 time span and with every procedure there was complications after. It seems like he was initially trying to help but I honestly don't think he's capable of good results. In March of 2022 my 1st surgery with Dr. Chou I developed a capsular contracture within a month. June of 2022 under local did a steroid shot and scrapped scar tissue, this did nothing. Felt like my boob went even higher after that. 2nd surgery was November 2022 changed out right breast implant only, did steroid shot along with a mesh fish skin internal bra and stem cell injection. My boob bottomed out almost immediately afterward. So I went from one boob normal and the other boob really high to super low. I tried to disguise my unevenness for over a year. I thought my body was rejecting the implant so I chose to explant. April 2023 was my explant with capsulectomy. He could not do a lift at the time because my skin was so thin, creapy and I was left with big creases in my flat chest (could fit three fingers inside crease of my boob) I was completely devastated. In July 2023 my 4th surgery I had a lift with fat transfer and I specifically said if I do lipo I want to do the J Plasma type lipo. I don't find out until a week later they he did regular lipo because he said my skin was tighting that I didn't need it. It was very disturbing that a Dr. made a decision with out my consent while I was under. He could have called my husband but didn't. He did end up reimbursing me back for the J Plasma upgrade. After this surgery my breasts were still deformed and asymmetric. None of the fat from the fat transfer stayed. I had what felt like a stone of scar tissue on right boob which was a sermona. During this time these problems really affected my self confidence. For 2 years it was not a good outcome and felt like I was still masking the problem. During the time from my very 1st surgery to my last with Dr Chou I went in prob over 80 times to get ultrasound treatments on boob and I have to say the only thing good about this office is that the girls are nice. I decided not to give up on myself and explore other doctors after all the procedures with Dr. Chou. I didn't want one doctors failure to discourage me. I got another fat transfer in April 2024 with a new Doctor and now my boobs are even with no problems. Turns out I still had my capsules in my boobs which I thought they were taken out with my April 2023 explant ( I requested a few times after explant to see pictures and never recieved) and also had a detached pec muscle. My new dr said that as soon as he took capsules out my boobs released and dead fat from my previous fat transfer was stuck to the capsules along with a bunch of blue sutchers (not dissolvable) left inside of me. I do not recommend Dr. Chou. read more

I saw Dr. Chao for an explant & lift about 6 months ago and it had to have been one of the best decisions of my life. A little backstory - I had breast implants for about 12 years and truthfully after year 5 or so I started to feel they didn't look good, had gotten bigger, were not lifted anymore and just didn't suit my small frame. I went back to my original plastic surgeon about 2 years ago and told him I hated my breasts and was considering just removing them. He convinced me that all I needed was a lift and we could put a new implant in but that it wouldn't look good if I removed the implant entirely. So of course, I was convinced and went through with the surgery hoping and praying I'd love my new (smaller) breasts. Fast forward a few months, my breasts looked the EXACT same. They didn't look any smaller, the lift had barely done much and I just internally felt so defeated and depressed about it. I kept trying to convince myself this is just the body I have to deal with now but ultimately I was so unhappy. About 7 months ago, I researched new surgeons and found Dr. Chao. Upon meeting with him he actually LISTENED to what I had been through & what I actually wanted. He asked me to show him images of what I physically wanted my breasts to look like and that was that of a small B cup. He told me he completely understood and he WOULD get me to look exactly like my inspo photos. I felt so relieved and excited. He ended up removing the implants, capsule & did a lift. Immediately coming out of the surgery I remember waking up, looking down and terrified that it would look the same. When I looked down this time although swollen post surgery, I could have jumped with joy because they were significantly smaller. I couldn't believe it. Fast forward 6 months I now have the EXACT breasts I wanted - a small B cup. The breasts are actually lifted this time and look BETTER than when I had implants although the previous surgeon told me they would never look good. Long story short - I am so grateful for Dr. Chao who actually LISTENED to me and gave me exactly what I wanted. I've truly never been happier in my skin. read more

Dr. Pousti really worked his magic with my breast augmentation! I'm extremely happy and he gave me exactly what I wanted! :) Pre-op I was a full A cup/small b cup. I wanted to have very full looking breasts (DD cup). That's exactly what cup size I am now (34DD). The implants I got were smooth 475cc moderate plus profile :) I was referred to Dr. Pousti by 3 of my friends who have also had breast augmentation surgery with Pousti. Their results are beautiful so I just had to go and make a consult appointment with Dr. Pousti. Well it's officially been over two years since I got my boob job and I am still elated. Dr. Pousti is unequivocally the best doctor I've ever met. He takes the time to hear your concerns and desired outcome and I didn't meet any other doctors. The second I met him I knew he was going to be my doctor. my boobs came out phenomenal and my inner and outer thigh liposuction looks so good. I am a very athletic & fit 28 year old but I had saddlebags that I couldn't get rid of since I was in high school. No matter how much I exercised or ate lean they were there. Dr. Pousti was highly recommended and was at the top of my list so I decided to go with his judgement and skills. Hes a very kind Dr., and I'm sure hes very skilled. But my results did not turn out the way I wanted. My breasts are noticeably Asymmetrical and require me to finesse them by using boob tape or whatever I can in outfits, especially when Im not wearing a bra. This was also pointed out by Dr. Pousti himself who believes it is a pocket issue but I believe it's more. One is more lifted than the other, one has more upper pole than the other, one is bigger than the other, one is more full than the other.... the list goes on... its just all very disappointing. They did not turn out like any of the pictures Pousti requested me to bring for my so called "Dream Board". I'm a fashion blogger and wear tons of outfits for my social media platforms, I do tons of photoshoots So this is very embarrassing. I moved out of state so spending the money to get back there when I already spent 13.500 on these boobies is just not an option. Sadly I've already started seeking a revision elsewhere at 9 months post op. I shouldn't have to finesse my boobs into how I want them due to all these mistakes made. Just an update on my breast augmentation surgery journey! I had my surgery today (June 2016) and it went so well. Dr Pousti is a great surgeon and was very caring and he did a great job. His staff and the anesthesiologist were truly amazing and caring. I knew I was in good hands. They were so helpful and the pain was not bad as I thought it would be. I only felt soreness and felt so weak. Daisy called me a little while after I got home wondering how I was feeling. I went for a follow up appointment, it went great. Doctor Pousti examined my breast and said everything was looking well. I got complimented how well I looked, which was so nice of them. I received my breast implant card, and I carry that with me in my wallet. The next few days, Tom Pousti called me him self to see how I was doing! Unfortunately, I was on the road back to Colorado with my husband and son. The ride went smooth and got lots of sleep. Almost a year, it's now 11 months post op and I love my breast implants! First off Dr. Pousti is absolutely the most amazing, caring and authentic person and doctor you will ever meet. He was truly concerned for my well-being. And his staff, just as awesome! I saw three other doctors about removing my 20 year old sub muscular saline textured implants. I knew within 10 minutes that Dr. Pousti was more than qualified to do my surgery. Over the years I struggled with unexplained illnesses like CHRONIC fatigue, IBS-C and IC, food intolerances, neck and shoulder pain, not feeling clear headed, depression to the point of antidepressants for the last 6 months, inflammation in my body, pain and burning in my left breast that became constant, numb left arm and fingertips like I hit my funny bone repeatedly, and hormonal problems that led to excessive bleeding and a hysterectomy- still have my right ovary though. I also had teeth pain and jaw pain and cysts that kept growing in my jaw, four root canals last year, and I never had any problems with my teeth prior to implants, always took great care of them. Over the past four years all these symptoms got worse and I retired from my career and was not able to exercise or hike daily or even once weekly. I was in bed most of my days and sleep was disturbed, constantly would wake up all night long. I am 44 years old and felt like I was 84. I didn't put it together that my implants could've been causing all of this until I started to learn about breast implant illness. My first reaction was all these women are crazy, implants are not the cause. But I can honestly say it was worth removing them based on how I now feel. I am three weeks post op and inflammation has gone down significantly- you can see the difference in my picture that was taken 24 hours apart same time of day. The surgery to repair bone damage in my jaw from cyst finally fully healed, I can think clearly, no more neck or shoulder pain, no more pain or burning in my left breast, I can feel my left arm and fingertips. I am 70% better with IBS-C and IC and am able to eat some of the foods I was having problems with. I am still having your typical PMS but no longer having such severe cramps or ovarian pain that I can't walk or can't wear pants that put too much pressure on my lower abdomen. I am no longer chronically fatigued and can finally exercise and walk daily and enjoy hiking again. I sleep better and it feels amazing to give someone a full hug and not have implants in the way and feeling the discomfort of the pressure of them against my chest and heart. Four weeks prior to surgery, I weaned myself off of antidepressants because I didn't like the thought of being under anesthesia while on them. Now, I am no longer in need of them. I feel lighter in so many ways. I smile more and have a hopeful outlook on life. My initial thought on removing them scared me. What would I look like, how big will my scars be, will I be deformed? I had a hard time wanting to be rid of them, I mean, I liked having big boobs! But after praying and fasting I knew this was the right decision. AND I knew Dr. Pousti was the doctor that would help get me through this process. I would choose to explant over and over again knowing how I feel now. There is no doubt in my mind that my implants were making me sick. And there is no doubt in my mind that Dr. Pousti was and is the absolute best!! Dr. Pousti and his staff's care, support, knowledge, bedside manner and follow through have been amazing to say the least. My breasts are itty bitty and I absolutely love them! I had to go to the ER and get an IV solution after vomiting for about 3 days straight. It's been 10 months since my breast enlargement surgery and I have only one regret... that I didn't do this sooner. From the consultation to the surgery day. Dr Pousti and his staff were so kind and welcoming. They answered all my questions and made me feel I had chosen the right doctor. The pre operative experience was helpful and I was more than prepared for surgery. The surgical center was a very pleasant and professional environment with extremely qualified Operating Room Staff and anesthesiologists. Dr. Pousti took the time to go over multiple times what I wanted to achieve and was helpful in managing my expectations. He was honest and respectful and helped me to understand the surgery process. To be honest I don't even know where to start because there are many good things to say about Dr. Pousti himself, his talent and his amazing office staff. I first met Dr. Pousti n 2012 after my young sister got her breast augmentation and I decided if her low pain tolerance self could do it and be unaffected so could I. So my first breast augmentation was done in Nov of 2012 after having two children who were 3.5 and 1 at the time. We all know what having babies and breast feeding can do to the breasts, so I wanted my younger mommy in my early 20s confidence back! Pousti gave that do me! To my surprise I had a third child in Feb of 2014 therefore leading to me seeing Dr Pousti again for my second breast augmentation in Feb 2019 where I went from my first natural conservative tear drop look to a high profile over filled and sized look. After settling we did a slight revision to the right breast that settled lower from me having a larger breast pocket for it to sink into and I decided being a mom of 3 natural births to also get a labiaplasty during the revision in Nov 2019. The procedures always go flawless. Dr Pousti and his surgery center staff (by the way the surgery center is like Nordstroms in Sorento Valley) and his office staff are second to none. I am THE most critical patient. I'm an RN, I work in the cosmetic field, and I researched plastics surgeons for 9 years before making my decision on who to choose for my breast augmentation and mastopexy. Here's my honest review: I met three other surgeons before choosing Dr. Pousti, and no one came close to giving me the peace of mind that he did, during the initial consultation. He was honest and confident. He's been doing this for 20 years and does A LOT of them which is one of the most important things to look for, in my opinion. What's more important is that he doesn't make you feel like you're just one of ten surgeries he will do that week. He genuinely cares. You know what other trait he has? He doesn't put up with anything less than the best in his staff and he doesn't mess around in the OR. He knew I was frightened (understatement) of going under general anesthesia, and he assured me that anyone in that OR with me would be the absolute best at what they do. You show him your Dream results and your "don't you dare make me look like this" results. Well, when I first came out of surgery, I was tripping out. I was in pain and my breasts looked huge and super high and fake, which was what I did NOT want. I say this to help anyone with anxiety about having the procedure done.. or who is in the early stages of healing, grasping at reading others experiences to find solace. TRUST this man. He knows better than YOU. I was sure that I was going to be a freak and lost my mind for the first.. 4 or so weeks. I'm 7 weeks post op now and I am absolutely thrilled with the results! The way they looked initially was swelling, and the placement was perfect so that when they settled, they are in the right place. I'd be happy to show anyone the pictures of the progression of my implant/lift healing. My scars likely won't be visible in a year from now. I can barely see them as is, and I'm not even 2 months out. We LOVE Dr. Pousti and couldn't be happier with the results. Listen to him when he tells you what size implant you need to achieve the results you want. I pushed back and ended up letting him do what he suggested and he was absolutely correct. Last thing- remember reading this, if you remember anything you read in any reviews- a breast lift is EXTREMELY hard to do. Choose Pousti. Don't take any chances with someone who could ruin your body. He may be more expensive than some but he is worth it! His pricing is on par for what he is an expert at doing. Implants are not as easy as they seem, either. The way the physician makes the pockets is so important. This guy is the best.
