Natalie helped me today and it was by far the best experience I've had at this location and in any sephora location in general. I have worked in retail middle range to high end and value great customer service. I have been to this boutique multiple times and because my previous experiences of working with the sales associates were not so positive I was hesitant to ask for assistance. However Natalie was fantastic! She was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely wanted to help me find products that I liked and fit what I was looking for. This store and management is trash. I came in to return a glossier lip gloss and daisy said she normally wouldn't return this item since it was used aggressively as opposed to gently. I asked her to specify and she said that the gloss was being returned pink but it's supposed to be clear. I literally went off on her. Why don't the people that work in this store know their products? Needless to say she's the manager. I told her glossier gloss is in fact pink. Then she pulled a new one and realized I was right. She didn't apologize. Instead, she said that it was I tired the applicator with another gloss shade so the top of the applicator had come into contact with another gloss. I did it realize there's a rule that you can't try a gloss over another gloss. She said to them this is not gentle on the product. Yeah at this point in the review, you realize daisy is someone with issues. It's a makeup store with make up items. I might try a gloss and layer it with another color. I might try a shadow and layer it with another shadow. This group needs help or at minimum daisy. Do better. You have no clue how to provide minimal customer service. read more

Normally they're very attentive and helpful. This time I went in and had to find someone to help me. It felt like I was bothering them by their response. I asked where I could find a certain product and just pointed in the direction it was at. I needed help with that brand and needed assistance but not offered. So I ended helping myself which I had to find the items to clean the cosmetics. Usually I walk out with several items but today just with one. I always have so much help every time I come in here. Yesterday my mom took me birthday shopping and we went inside Sephora to grab a few items. An associate (cute, short, red/ginger hair, blue eyes) helped me and my mom out the entire time. I told her my issues with extreme dry patches but still greasiness when I put on make up and it never lasting. She suggested a belif hydrating gel for skin care, Laura mercier pure canvas primer, and Tarte Amazonian clay foundation. When I say my face looks so different with my make up on, I mean it looks SO GOOD!!! With each product she recommended she explained why it would be good or how similar products will be good. I gave 1 star because it is impossible to leave 0. Allow me to explain. I have been to this Sephora location 3 times and have yet to get inside. I decided to run by the new location after work one day only to find they were closed. My mistake for not checking the hours in the site but at 8:05 pm there wasn't even a light on in the back so I'm not even sure they were open until 8 as advertised. The second time I went by at 7:30 thinking yes this time for sure and not a soul was to be seen. Not even the front sign was lit. The only way I knew for sure it was there was the sign posted on the back of the location which was lit. Last night in a last ditch effort to get in on the New Years sale I stopped in at 7 and for the first time saw lights on. Glad they are actually open at some point, I got excited only to find the doors locked. Can you please update the website on hours? Even the shop doors do not reflect hours of operation which is frustrating as well. It's hard enough with lines being long to get in places right now without driving around and finding the location has closed early with no word. Are they even open every day? Luckily I live close but I have to say I'm super disappointed to have missed out on the sale. I think it's a little unprofessional that I will just have to drive by in hopes of catching the elusive open sign lit up! I always ask for gift cards for Christmas as I like to buy my essentials from your store but like to take advantage of the sales. Love this shop and the staff at this location. When I first arrived, I was greeted by a very kind employee who asked me if I had any questions and made me aware that samples were only for looking purposes. They also have a line outside the store to ensure that not too many customers are in the store at one time. I really appreciate what the store is doing during COVID. Additionally, all employees were wearing masks. When I entered the store, I just perused the items quickly. Everything was very organized and people were maintaining social distancing. My main reason for going was to simply pick up my birthday gift. When I reached the register, she offered me a choice on my gift and also included a few samples of other products in my bag. My daughter and I had hydro facials done by Jenn today. Jenn was amazing. She explained to us everything she was doing and was happy to answer any questions we had. She helped us pick out products that will help our skin. We will be definitely going back next month for another facial. We drove 35 minutes and it was worth the drive. I love Sephora as a store, but this location in particular is amazing! I visited 8/7 at this location and It's so clean and so lively and all of the staff is so sweet! Because it's summer, my skin has gotten darker so I came in a few a new foundation to match me. I totally forgot the makeup artist name, but she was amazing and helped me picked out the proper Fenty Beauty for me! She was blond with wavy hair. She recommended me the Fenty foundation of 385 and it looks so much better on my skin. She also recommended a honey powder for Fenty Beauty. Both are my favorite! I also bought the Fenty foundation brush just because I'm a huge fan. Michael recommended me a setting spray from urban decay and explained all of the benefits! Everyone was so helpful and sweet and checking out took literally two minutes. They're so efficient and sweet I'll definitely be returning. read more

I try and hold myself together because I'm with my kid and a credit card holder but the disrespect is crazy. Worst customer service I've ever had at a Sephora. To be clear, this review is based off the service I received and not the store itself. The store is large, well stocked and clean and I was very happy to have an Sephora near my home instead of the JC Penny/Sephora off Ramona. I was asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told the associate I was looking for the Natasha Denona Bloom and Blush palette. She quickly dismissed me saying "No, I don't sell that brand. We only have a select few things." When I told her that was odd because the Sephora website had it in stock at this location. She said "Ok, I'll check in the back. Do you want to buy it or try it?" I responded, both most likely but if I can't try it, I'll buy it. How rude and condescending? And they DID have the palette. She brought it from the back looking annoyed at the fact that she was wrong. I honestly wish I'd gotten her name to call and complain the the manager. The past couple of times I have been here, the sales associates are all pretty nice and helpful. Sometimes they are busy and it takes a while before they are able to help, but they do a great job and are not stingy with the samples. They have given me suggestions on what would work best with my skin and offered some samples on products I have not heard of before. I really appreciated how one sales associate (forgot her name, sorry!) gave me some validation on products that work and don't work from prior experience with others that have tried some of the products. For the most part, I have ended up ordering the products they have suggested online or in store. The sales associates at this store are friendly and approachable. This was my first time visiting since the COVID-19 quarantine. I was in desperate need of hair conditioner today, and Sephora is the only place I know of anywhere close to me that sells the brand I use. I did both a Google and Yelp check to ensure that they had reopened. Yep and yep; they've apparently been open for about a week. I drove out and found a parking spot near the store. Unfortunately, customers have to pay for parking in order to park nearby. I put enough change in the meter to cover a 20-minute stay. When I got to the store, I spotted people inside, but the door was locked, with a paper sign announcing that they were closed for the morning until 12:30 p.m. due to an employee meeting. It was 12:05. My days are extremely busy; I had to leave in order to complete other errands, which meant that I had to abandon the parking spot I'd paid for and lose my money. I returned to the shopping center at 12:30. This time I parked much farther away and walked to the store in 90-degree heat in order to avoid potentially wasting more money. When I arrived for the second time, there was a huge line down the block outside. I realized that they must be letting in only a few shoppers at a time. I waited for several minutes, but the line never moved, and the heat was becoming oppressive. I had to abandon my plan of running in to grab a single bottle of conditioner--a necessity for me, as I've completely run out and my hair is too coarse to wash without it. I feel like they could easily schedule an employee meeting that doesn't last the entire morning and doesn't interfere with normal shopping hours. This especially applies when it's not posted or announced anywhere for a store that essentially requires customers to pay for parking. I'm going to try to buy my product online from a different seller, but I'm going to have to put off washing my hair until it arrives, so it will probably become a dirty mess. read more

I hate leaving this review because this is my local sephora, but today was ridiculous. I walked out annoyed and was going to leave it alone but I checked the reviews for this store and 4 days ago someone left the same sort of review. So obviously my local Sephora has a problem. So let me set the stage Im that girl who does not even go into her bag at retail stores because I know that the minute I touch my bag I will be looked at like I am stealing. So if I am going in I will already have my phone out if I am using it. I will not touch my bag until I am at the cash register. Now I walk in today and i felt like I was at a car dealership I have never been asked more times did I need any help. So for all the employees about 4 of them I said No Thank you. Why I know it is ploy to watch me or be aware of what I'm getting is because the store isn't huge and they were close enough to know that someone already asked me that question. But as long as you are nice I am too. I answered all politely and continued to shop. Now for reference all the employees encountered were of hispanic descent. Looking at the haircare section a White employee walks maybe 3 feet from me and says nothing just stares at the products In front of her. The way she came over was so obvious and was weird because a second ago I could not get 2 feet without someone asking me. So she is staring at products, to test my theory I go to another part of the store and guess who is right there it's her. I do it about two more times and she is around every time. Now I have two lipglosses in my hand I never touch my bag or do anything that would look suspicious but obviously just the hue of me was suspicious. So I am tired of playing hide and go seek I pay do my exchange. As I am at my cash register I see her walk to the back she must felt accomplished following me around. I paid and walked out annoyed but go about my day. I check the reviews here and see ooh I am not the only one 4 days ago same thing happened to someone else. I waited outside while I checked what time store closed (they close at 8pm) i then see 3 employees walk out and lock the door behind them @ 7:57pm. I don't think that is fair. Can't rave enough about this location, especially it's people. Everyone is super nice and willing to help without giving you that hovering feeling. I was in today to get some makeup wipes, and ask questions about what could help with an eye issue. Linae was knowledgeable, helpful, and especially understanding of my situation. She helped me to narrow down what I might need, and even gave me some samples to try before buying. I also had interaction with a couple of others, and they were all just so helpful. Even when he's busy, he will look up and say I'll be right with you, or he will help me quickly and go back to the customer he was helping. The women that work there act like they hate their job, except for the cashier that worked tonight. She was super nice and pretty. The others whether it's busy or dead, don't even look up or they will spend time talking to customers and only focus on them for like 20 minutes. I went to purchase a new product that Sephora had just launched. But they were sold out of 2/4 of the items I wanted. I was able to order the items in store and pay in store. They're service was impeccable, upon greeting, entrance, assistance, just enough but not too much, as well as the counter register help. AND, the items I ordered were delivered within 3 days. I never thought I would publicly denounce Sephora but here it is. Durring the VIB promtion, I purchased an item through a Sephora manager over the phone. This manager mistakenly sent the wrong item. I never opened the product and was told to send it back via snail mail for an even exchange. ... 1 month later, I was told it can take up to 30 days for Sephora to receive the product. I spoke to five different representatives and was lied to by all of them; an even exchange will be placed for you. I received an email refunding my money instead of sending me the product I asked for. I called to complain, was given the run-around so I asked for my gift certificate money to be refunded back to the card. I no longer want to shop at Sephora. They refused; they also refused to let me speak to anyone higher than Angelo the manager. I believe they are having people take calls from home! The customer service is deplorable. If a customer no longer wants to shop at your establishment you should refund their gift certificate money at the very least. I am not happy about this transaction and want a resolution. read more

I went in on Sunday to look for foundation. I was waiting for a friend to color match a foundation when at exactly 7pm, Martha ( a rude, older lady) asks, "Are you going to buy something? Because if not, we are closed." I replied with, "Yes, I'm going to buy something, that's why we are color matching." In which she responded, "We have a company meeting right now." I was so appalled of how rude she was. She is in the customer service business and could have easily said, "Hi, do you need help with anything? Let me know if you do, because we closed at 7." But nope, she didn't. Yes, Martha, I was going to buy something. If it was 10 or even 5 minutes past closing time, I would understand a little bit more of where her rude attitude came from. Everyone is attentive and helpful. It's so great to see a Sephora in Chino Hills. It hasn't been that long since it opened at this location, and I am hoping that they expand with more brands with time. I'm just very excited that there is a Sephora literally minutes away from where we live. Parking can be tricky, but this is the new norm at the Shoppes now. I'm giving it a 2 because I'm a sucker for Sephora. I usually go to the Montclair Mall after work but it was a Holiday so I went here. I wandered the store for a good 10 minutes. All the while no one asked me if I needed help. I then found a lady who was assisting someone, so I patiently waited for her to finish. Well, guess what, when she finished she walked off and didn't even acknowledge me! I was pretty shocked. I needed my stuff so I didn't complain. Believe me, I usually speak up. Excellent customer service here at this one in Chino Hills came here after a bad experience which I yelped at the one in Chino in the JCPenney's. Couldn't find my shade ask somebody for help helped me right away.
