I used to go to this Sephora a lot but haven't been in a couple years now. Today, I visited to see if they had a brow pencil in stock, as a couple of Sephora locations I've visited these last two weeks, sold out. They did have it, so I was pretty stoked about that. None of the staff members assisted me today, but they did greet me. Honestly, I didn't mind that no one came up to me asking if I needed assistance, I actually like it this way... oftentimes I don't need any help and just want to shop peacefully. This store didn't have a couple brands that I was looking for, but besides that, I love this store location. read more

This location is pretty small, I don't however feel like they were missing any brands, unless they were ones that I wasn't looking for. I was greeted at the door which is nice because Sephora is usually pretty busy and chaotic. I went in looking for a contouring powder that I previously had and the young lady was helpful. They no longer sold the one that I had but she did match me with another product that was a good match. This month the products they have for the point system are better than normal. Sometimes they have items that I don't think anyone would waste their points on. I had a great time doing a Makeup Mini appointment with Marlene. She used a special camera to figure out exactly what shades of each brand of foundation would work for me. She explained the best ways I can use foundation and color corrector to create a great look! I appreciate that she was respectful of the fact that I wanted my freckles to remain visible. I don't know about the other reviewers, but I've only had great experiences here. I was so excited when I first heard they were opening as I work close by. I knew it could be dangerous because I am a makeup junkie haha. Now that it's open, it's my go-to Sephora. I usually do all my Sephora shopping online, (yay flash two-day shipping!), but when I needed to go to the store, I would go to the one in Prudential. I HATED going there. Yes, it was big, but it was always crowded. I didn't feel like I could browse without someone, an associate or another customer, hovering around. I need my space! This is why I really like this Sephora, it's a great sized space, and it's never crowded! It's clean, well maintained, the associates are nice and greet you and generally have good attitudes. I think this might be my favorite sephora since everything was in stock (including the Dior lip oils!!) and the employees were so nice! They didn't follow me around like at other sephoras, i don't know if that's what they're supposed to do but they didn't follow me around as much. There wasn't a lot of people there so it was pretty calm. the location is also great since it's right next to one of my other favorite stores, target. They also have a train nearby which is also nice. The area surrounding the sephora was just overall very pretty and calm. read more

I love the place but customer service can be okay to very bad. I was in the fragrance section and 3 salespeople were in this heavy conversation about Netflix shows... when I asked one of them a question, she quickly answered it and went back the the group. Sephora is my cloud nine. I know it sounds cliché and very materialistic, but it has anything and everything you could want from skin care, to hair products, to make up and Sephora has honestly been a lifesaver for a girl like me that didn't know anything about make up and was always wanting to learn more about how to be beautiful when you are beautiful on the inside but everyone told you you weren't beautiful on the outside. Sephora Fenway is very nice and cozy place where my my favorite make up artist Haley just brightens my day and makes me feel like I'm in a save haven. Definitely give it a visit it is small and doesn't have as many products as Sephora Prudential but if you live in the area it is very convenient. I did have some problems with the staff they usually are less nice and a lot more Georgie and even look on interested in helping you. This is not the case for everyone but it has occurred and several instances that the stuff was not very nice. I do want to emphasize that it is not everyone specially not Haley she's so great and she even help me do you make over when I was feeling down because of a break up. All in all Sephora is beautiful. I do you have to say the prices are a bit high and I would love it if we could have better prices going on for route members for the IB members I did take a lot to get to be a route but I think giving a better discount would be a great help for all of us that are incredibly loyal. read more

This whole Sephora is awkward. The worst is the customer service. I have had associates ignore me while they painted their nails. Another played on her phone while I waited at the counter to check out. I once asked to be color matched once for a specific foundation. The little machine told me I should get a lovely dark mocha color. Unfortunately I'm a pale peach color. She didn't seem to care that it was so off. She pulled up the matches on an iPad screen and left. Not a word was said. Awkward. The other issue I have is the lack of stock. They always seem to be out of something I'm looking for and since it is already a limited inventory this is super irritating. The people that work at this Sephora are not nearly as knowledgeable about their products like other locations. The only bonus is that I can easily order online and return if needed to this convenient location. read more

Most Sephora I've been to, it's classy and filled with knowledgeable sales reps with great personalities. There are usually one or two of them who would greet you immediately when you walk into their store. That's not quite what happened at this location. I saw a few girls in front chatting and didn't bother to say "hi" when I walked in. I was in here for assistance for a specific item but most of these workers were pretending to look like they were working by touching items that's already organized. Finally someone noticed and asked me if I needed help. I was looking for a concealer from Tarte in a tube with the sponge-tip wand and she told me they don't make them in that and the only have make them in these glass foundation bottles with an attitude. I decided to look it up on my phone to show her. She then corrected herself and said sorry they don't carry that item here. They should really brush up on the basics of customer service. I think this is the first Yelp review I've ever posted. This is the rudest location I've ever been to. From the moment I walked in, I was stared at like a potential thief. I asked a few questions and the responses were pretty cold. The products are just like other Sephora's but if you're looking for friendly customer service, do not come to this location. Even when I cheerily said goodbye while walking out the door, one of the reps ignored me and the other took half a minute to reply back. (For the record, I did made a purchase). I really think the reps who work here need some serious training on how to be professional. read more

I had a great experience here, I am honestly astonished by the other reviews thus far! I found the vibe of the coworkers here to be very professional and to mold to the customers around them. Myself, I am a person who normally likes to browse and shop alone and doesn't like to be bothered unless I ask for help, and they picked up on that a treated me so. I also saw with customers not like me, those who did want help or attention, they served them so. This is by far my favorite Sephora location. I work around the corner and everyone is so incredibly helpful. It's a smaller scale store so everything's really easy to find and if they don't sell something they can quickly order it for you. The store mgr and make up artists (love Kiana and Bryanna) are so helpful and do incredible work. Amazing eyes and lashes! I am a regular at the Sephora in the Prudential Center. So I was pretty happy to hear they were opening up another one next to my other favorite store, Target. This location is not as hectic as its sister store down the road. They carry most of the major brands, but lack some of the higher end products that you can find at the Prudential Center location. I will continue to shop at this location, however I am giving it three stars based on a recent encounter I had here. One sales associate was nice, but it got annoying to the point where I couldn't look at a product without hearing some overly dramatic description of how "amaaaaazing" and "GORGEOUS" it was. Somehow everything I looked at was "super popular." I don't mind people asking if I need help, but I don't like sales associates hovering while I shop; I hate when stores do this. I know they're trying to sell product, but sometimes it gets to be a bit much. I had her test a foundation on me that I had been eyeing, and she did a terrible job blending it in. She kept throwing out compliments, but I knew it looked awful and ended up not purchasing the product (totally had to pretend I was going to buy it). I could tell a lot of her communication was forced; just an awkward experience in general. read more

I've been to several Sephora locations and never had a problem. This is the first. So I visited this location on a slow day. Nobody greeted or asked if I needed help. Most employees were just standing around chatting and doing nothing. As I was dispensing the makeup remover, an associate came over and rudely said, "You don't have to tip the bottle over, just leave it where it is and Push down. Look at the mess you are making!" I looked down and saw a few drops of makeup remover. I may have dispensed the makeup remover the wrong way, but I do not appreciate someone talking to me in a condescending way. I used to go to the Sephora in the Pru and it was always a madhouse. When they opened this store in Fenway I was so excited because it's a lot closer to me. I do like this sephora because it seems like it's always empty or there's never anyone in there (during the weekdays anyway) so it was easier to shop in. I've been here about 6 or 7 times and most of the times I have gotten greeted. When its empty in there all the workers do is lurk around. They literally stand there and watch what I'm doing as if I'm going to steal something. I can always see them out of the corner of my eye just glancing over at me or standing at a display rack next to me pretending to move things around. I always get asked multiple times when I am there if I need help with anything. Getting asked one time is completely fine, but I don't need every worker there asking if I need help. It's so annoying, please let me shop in peace and if I need help I will find someone. I understand you're just trying to do your job, but back up a bit and give me some space. It seems like the girls are always standing around talking or gossiping. Rude, I don't need to be hearing your personal life story conversations while I'm trying to shop. The workers definitely judge you if you are a Beauty Insider. I've gotten dirty looks before which I assume was because I've walked in with no make up on before. When I get up to the register and they see I'm a VIB Rouge then they are 'oh so kind' and put on that fake smile. Looks like I'm gonna have to go back to the Pru. I've been apprehensive about wearing make-up for years. I've always thought, "I'm not that girl". I finally decided to give it a try after consulting with my daughter. I was able to get a last minute appointment at this location. Harley made my first Sephora experience memorable. I must say, she did an AWESOME JOB! She was so sweet and explained every product she was using before applying it on my face. I went in with a vision of what I wanted but, after a short consult, Harley made awesome recommendations and gave me a natural stunning look! Thank you Sephora and Harley. Bad selection and awkward service. So I live around here so I come shopping a lot, sometimes just walk in to check if there's anything new. There is this person, I think she's a manager, she always give me a weird look when I am purchasing things and asking about returns in case I need to since I have very sensitive skin.
