Ana Delia is the best. :-)…read more This review is long overdue, so where to begin. The location is in a good spot of Boyle Heights. Its small and unimpressive to the naked eye. Fear not once you are inside this quaint little beauty shop you'll be impressed by the hospitality that you receive. I usually come for my haircuts or a blow outs. Because that's all I needed. Since I never colored or treated my hair in any matter (virgin hair). Until last month. On march I decided to make my relationship serious with Ana Delia (Co-owner and overall hair genius). Ana Delia was super excited as was I going to do something new, especially when it meant color treating my virginial locks. The thing that I like about her service is that she really takes it upon herself to know each and every customer, in reguards to what they like and don't like, their professional/career and overall sense of fashion (she in not pushy or intimidating). Ana Delia suggested I get some highlights. Then she was on it. As I cringed the thought of bleaching, she assured me that she wouldn't over do it. So 2 hours or what seemed a small eternity. She was done. I was happy and in love with her work! Ana Delia knew I was worried about coming in for frequent touch-ups. She assured me that I won't havet to come in, not until six months from then. Yay for low maintenance. Its been a month and my hair looks great. I receive many compliments from total strangers and friends. My only suggestion to you is that you phone in to ask for an appointment or just to know the overall volume of customers. That way you won't be stuck reading a magazine or texting (wasting your battery). It gets pretty busy. Save yourself from boredom.

The stylist who do my…read moreKeratin treatment the first time was no longer working there, and the two stylists who did my hair were kind and efficient. Upon completion of the redo service, I was told that I needed to buy a specific shampoo and conditioner to preserve the Keratin. Since I was told about this beforehand this time, it was a better experience than last time, when I wasn't even told about needing specific aftercare products. Update: so I go back and follow their instructions and purchase the specific products and use them as directed and my hair is still not straight. This Keratin does not work.

UPDATE 2: In regards to Kay's unprofessional comment- I went to different stylists for…read moreCONSULTATIONS. They did not lighten my hair again as you incorrectly assumed. I was told by multiple stylists the work Locks and Lashes did was horrendous. The micro extensions were placed on thin pieces of hair, so the extensions would inevitably fall out fast. I remember a stylist watch Kay put in my extensions, and she whispered "you're doing this really fast...". She did it fast because she overbooked. The extensions were also placed in no pattern- trained stylist knows to place these extensions in rows, so it looked TERRIBLE and caused my hair to get tangled and matted up. Kay: I asked to lighten my hair only enough not to damage it. I specifically said do not overdo it as I knew it was damaged. Finally, Kay "misunderstood" what services I wanted during our initial consultation. I said I wanted the brown under my hair blonde, but Kay still scheduled a partial highlight (this does not cover the bottom of the hair). She did this because she's money hungry and tries to get in as many clients as possible per day. Masks were not required during the appointment, and the salon was at full capacity (and this was days after salons re-opened). Locks and Lashes clearly does not care about COVID protocols, as they broke several guidelines during my appointment. It felt like they were trying to maximize revenue and did not care about the safety of their clients, nor do they take pride in the work they do. If you're a victim of terrible extensions from this salon, *Amor Beauty by Andreia* is professionally trained in microbead extensions, and she fixed all the terrible work this salon did at a very reasonable price. Like I said in my original review: The client is never right. Kay- your comment only shows how immature you are.

I had an appointment with Mavis who is the owner of the salon with her daughter. My appointment was at 1pm but I showed up around 1245pm just to give myself enough time. I was surprised that she was able to take me back sooner than my appointment. She has a nice selection of OPI gel colors. The whole salon is beautiful and very clean. I can tell Mavis is very careful and particular-she had on gloves and a mask. She was super sweet and did an excellent job. The studio is quiet which I like! Some studios are so loud and busy but this was actually a relaxing experience for me. I used a Groupon without any issues. I will definitely be back. As far as the complaints go about only making an appointment online, that's just the way it goes. A lot of people do it and to me it's easier for me with my lifestyle. As far as walk ins, don't expect it!! She's a one woman show!! I would much rather make an appointment than not knowing how long my wait is. And I'm surprised about people complaining about the salon being rude. She was so sweet and couldn't of been more helpful.

Her shop is beautiful and very well maintained. I had an appointment at 6PM on a Friday, and she had a client before me, but was spot on with my appointment time. Gotta love that! The color I chose was new to Mavis, so she hadn't used it at all. The actual finished product turned out very pretty overall. Some streaks and lumpy areas, but not noticeable. The polish ended up coming off 4 days later...today. So the thing is....Mavis is a hard working woman and I admire her for keeping such a neat shop, putting up with people all day long, being so nice and outgoing, and honoring appointment times. She is a one woman show, and doing a great job. I was a little unhappy about my polish...but...it was a new polish...maybe she wasn't so familiar with it...and I just liked her. So I will definitely give her another chance. Everyone deserves one.

The lady that works there said that she doesn't intend on carrying them, because they expect her to order $16k worth of scrubs to open an account with them.
