I've been with RBFCU for nearly 8 years. I have nothing bad to say. They have decent hours, plenty…read moreof locations, always friendly, and they handle all of my banking needs. I typically visit the Cedar Park location. Easy to get to with enough parking. Did you know they have a loose change machine? Yeah! No fee for members. So when you want to cash in that big jar of coins, RBFCU has your back. The offer notary services and the other things you usually find at a bank. I've tried a lot of banks and credit unions and so far they are the best.

On 4/17/2026, $2980.00 was stolen from my RBFCU account. Even though RBFCU says they provide NCUA…read moreinsurance, they have denied reimbursement. They have said the facts show I clicked "ALLOW" to approve the transaction on a text they sent me. This is NOT TRUE. I never even saw the texts as I was in deep conversation with "their fraud dept representative". They want me to believe someone could have called me from their number but they won't believe that the same someone could have hacked and taken over my phone! My facts are that I received a text from RBFCU followed by a call from their phone # 210-945-3300 (the same # they alway and continuously call me from). Their rep proceeded to guide me to make transactions geared toward stopping and preventing the continued fraud being attempted on my account. When I immediately tried to call RBFCU fraud dept to verify I was talking to them, my hold time was 58 min/58 sec. They finally called me back 1 1/2 hours later from the same # 210-945-3300 they have always and continue to call me from. These facts lead me to believe it was RBFCU who stole my money! This bank in which I've been a member for 14 years has accused me of being complicit in a crime. I have all my money with these people. I have had car loans, home equity loans, cds, money market accounts, checking and saving accounts. I have excellent credit including a well above average credit score. But they are insinuations that I am a thief. They used to be an excellent company but no more. Please stay far away if you want your money to be safe!

We closed our RBFCU account several years ago. A couple of years following that closure, RBFCU…read moreissued a debit card - in our name - to a fraudster. Of course we pursued this matter. We were eventually told by RBFCU that they will issue a debit card - without vetting - if someone simply provides a name and social security number, over the phone. (Of course, through data breaches, whose name and SSN isn't available for fraudulent use?) Although the closed accounts had security protocols, such as "secret question & answers," none of those were apparently required to issue a debit card on a closed account. Writing this review to share the above information and to query why the attached review, written by someone else, has been hidden. It accurately describes our experience in opening an account (same thing: it was conducted via video interview with someone we understood to be in the San Antonio area). After all that vetting to open the account, we were shocked that it was really easy for a fraudster to request a debit card on a closed account. The only reason we were alerted to the fraud was that the debit card was mailed to our address. Apparently, even though the fraudster may have requested a change of address, the card came to us. Based on our complaint, RBFCU informed us that it did present the matter to its Internal Audit department for review. Perhaps it is standard operating procedure for Credit Unions to e-z issue debit cards on closed accounts. But, hiding a review which accurately (at least based on our own experience) describes the RBFCU account-opening process surprised us...and motivated this review.
