My insurance sent them a letter of approval for a $17k wheelchair, top of the line. They sent out a guy Joe McNight to do measurements and decide on chair. 4 weeks later the owner Allen shows up with a completely different wheelchair and nothing fits! Then says "oh I need to order the one Joe measured for you. ?? 6 weeks in and still no wheelchair, can't get a return call. People have your insurance send your approval to another company. if i could give no stars i would!! i have been trying for 7 months to get a fitted, working, and safe power wheelchair from allen at senior mobility aids and all i get is promises that he doesn't keep. i first was given a power wheelchair from china around 5 months into the process that tipped forward as you were transferring from it. i told allen about this and i kept getting told they were on it, but nothing was being done. i finally fell transferring from it and hurt my hip and wasn't able to get out of bed for weeks because of this and it was all because this chair he purchased for me wasn't a safe wheelchair. you would think that he would have tried to find me a loaner that i wouldn't get hurt in, but no, it took him weeks and several calls to him and medicare that i needed something safe to get around in. he finally brought a wc loaner out and this one tipped forward by at least a foot till the leg lifts hit the ground, as i was going down ramps, etc. i was deathly afraid of this wheelchair and couldn't use it either. this went on close to 2 months till he finally brought a stable power wchair to me and i thought this one was going to work since it was a lot more stable than the others he had brought to me, but the first day in the new wchair makes clunking noises from the motor area. i told him about this a week ago and still nothing has been done about it, although he promised to call me yesterday to figure out how to fix it, and of course i heard nothing from him. so i called him yesterday at 3pm and the receptionist said he'd call me back before he left for the day. yeah right, no call! surprise, not at all, he doesn't call when he says he will. this is the worst company and wheelchair service around!!!!!!!!!! i had previously gotten 2 other powered wchairs from a different dme group that i had no problems with getting the right chair for what i needed and fitted properly the first time and got the wchair within the 1st month and 1/2 with this other company. i so wish my dr's referral would have never landed on allen's desk at senior mobility aids, it has been a nightmare from beginning to end. complain to medicare, they said if this keeps happening, they will not support their business. read more

I am updating my review as after writing my review I was FINALLY contacted by someone at the company. Once he contacted me, he fixed the problem and I am no longer receiving any more bills. I am still only though, upgrading my review to 2 stars because it still took 6 months of phone calls (3-4 a month) of trying to fix this problem and get this company to get its billing act together. The only way I got my problem resolved was publishing this negative yelp review. It should not take a bad yelp review in order to get a company to give you good service. This billing mistake should have been corrected with my first round of phone calls the first month I called. Instead I was completely ignored or told everything was taken care of until I wrote this review. So this problem festered for over 6 months. This is unacceptable. Getting management's attention to fix their problem was entirely too difficult and took too long. read more

This is a bit of an odd review - but my company needed to rent a couple of wheelchairs...dare I go try to explain why...but nonetheless we did and found this place only a mile away. The owner is great; pleasant, friendly, patient and caring. If you are in the market to order a custom scooter or rent/buy some wheelchairs for legitamite reasons or as props for a studio this is your place. If you need to buy a wheelchair for yourself, find anyone else. Unless you like to be ignored for 9+ months and for Medi-Cal to deny you because they did not send the information that they needed to. Total bunk. This is so unfair! It's not like people who need wheelchairs can just do something else. We NEED wheelchairs! That is the way we get around, but these guys don't care. I'm a current military member. On 2015 I had a knee surgery, and a week later I was contacted by Senior Mobility Aid. A sells-man over the phone said my doctor authorized a knee bracelet for me, and he wanted to meet me to give me that equipment. I told him that I would meet him on my next appointment on the naval hospital, and he said that it was better if we meet sooner. I told him to meet me at my work, and he said that his base access pass was expired, that if we could meet outside my work. I met him a couple of blocks outside the NAS Coronado and he handed me the equipment and paperwork. I refused to sign it because it said that I was responsible to pay if Tricare didn't. He told me not to worry and that it was fine if I didn't wanted to sign. He handed me they knee bracelet and left. Now is 2018 and I just received a bill for 316.71 for that transaction. Of course I contacted Tricare and they said they already paid, and when I'm trying to contact this company, it goes straight to voicemail. Already left a voicemail but no response yet. By the way, I found out that neither the doctor that performed the surgery nor the physical therapist, ever ordered and knee bracelet for me because I didn't needed it. I hope this company contact me through here at least. read more

We have tried with several different companies in obtaining an electric wheelchair for our father (age 83, Retire Military, w/ Parkinson's) going to say about a years time now. And all the companies stated that "Medicare" declined our father. Until we came in contact with Senior Mobility Aides! They are a definite life saver and let me tell you the staff is heaven sent! Do not look anywhere else! Save yourself the trouble and headache! Senior Mobility Aids staff members especially Joe, Allen, and Kara were and are so helpful, they made the process effortless! It is so refreshing to have people still working for the consumer and giving the finest customer service, as if we were family because they sure made us feel that way! I needed to rent a wheelchair for my 91 year old mom so she could attend my son's baseball game on Saturday morning. I called this business late on Friday. The gentleman arranged to meet me very early Saturday morning in Carlsbad (I was on my way to a seminar downtown) to give me the wheelchair. I received a knee walker from Senior Mobility Aids on 1/18/2017. On 3/7/2017, I returned the knee walker to Senior Mobility Aids, having used it for two weeks following foot surgery. Now, almost two years later, I'm getting a bill from Senior Mobility Aids for the knee walker (TRICARE had paid Senior Mobility Aids over $800 for it in February 2017). This is unsatisfactory! I don't have the knee walker any more, and should not have to pay over $200 to use it for two weeks, especially as the company has the equipment back in their possession. read more

There aren't enough stars to give Senior Mobility Aids. They have an excellent customer care staff and provide speedy and efficient service. Allen (the owner) and Kara (rehab manager) provided the best customer service to help me acquire a special needs push chair stroller for my son, Caleb, who has nonverbal Autism accompanied with sensory and behavioral issues when overstimulated, often cutting our family outings short. Allen was very professional, kind and patient while fitting Caleb for his push chair. He was very knowledgeable and answered any questions, as well as made necessary recommendations for the stroller that would best fit Caleb's and our family's needs. Kara, our savior, has a caring approach, is attentive and is a true professional. She made all the necessary phone calls to Drs. offices and insurance companies, handled all the paperwork and navigated the muddy, murky waters of insurance EOBs, COBs, DMEs, In Network, Out of Network , mumbo, jumbo ...etc....a foreign language a normal layperson, as myself, would get lost and drown in!! In other words, she made it happen!! Now, Caleb has a stroller/push chair he feels comfortable in when he feels anxious and overwhelmed in public, and we, as a family, are venturing out on more family outings. Bottom line, I cant recommend Senior Mobility Aids enough. If more companies were as proficient, pleasant and helpful, our world would be a better place!! read more

Sorry to say my dealings with this company were so terrible it prompted me to write this review. My elderly aunt who lives in a healthcarefacility bought her power chair less than 3 years ago from Senior Mobility Aids. She started having problems keeping the battery from draining and it was causing her a lot of anxiety worrying if she was going to be stranded. So I called the company and gave them all the pertinent information regarding the problem, her insurance, etc. They took a few days just to pick up the wheelchair and wanted a $60-00 fee before they would take it. They left her with an inferior, unpadded different kind of power chair while they were supposedly fixing it. Lafayette who works as a tech there told me a turnaround of 24-48 hours which I thought was reasonable. After a week went by I started calling making inquiries about when her chair was going to be returned, fixed, I presumed. I was told that parts were being ordered. Another week went by and I started calling again. Finally after more than two and a half weeks I was told that since my aunt has Healthnet they are not authorized to fix it. I was flabbergasted to say the least. I gave all the insurance info before it was picked up! Now my aunt has been in a manual wheelchair as the one they left for her was totally unsuitable, for over 2 weeks and her facility ischarging her extra money for her to be wheeled from place to place in the facility. Of course I told them to return the wheelchair as quickly as possible. I will now have to start all over. Needless to say I am outraged and asked them how they can operate a business with such bad customer service. read more

My son purchased a custom wheelchair here and although it is one of the better chairs he's owned, the service was very slow and pretty poor. Fast forward three years when I need some minor repairs (fix a rip in the headrest and back) after 5 months of no calling for updates, only sometimes did they call after I called them, did I fire therm. In fact, when they did come out after 3.5 months to fix it, they brought every part but what I asked for in the first place. It is still broken. Life is stressful enough with a special needs child, this company made it even harder. They got their big money in the chair and did not care to help repair their own product.
