From the moment I stepped into the showroom, I felt full confidence in the business I was dealing with. Not only did the staff know their products inside out, they were friendly, compassionate, very caring and only interested in what would work best for my husband. The vehicle we purchased 100% suited his needs. I can't recommend Golden Boy Mobility enough - they will always have our support and recommendation as a stellar business to deal with. I have not used their car/vans yet, but was so impressed by my first contact with Kelly that I wanted to give a shoutout to GoldenBoy. My brother can no longer walk and due to several strokes that left him with severe neurology issues, along side a diagnosis of dementia, he is no longer able to walk nor get in and out of my car to go on outings. GoldenBoy was recommended by a friend and after speaking with Kelly from GoldenBoy, we have a whole new world of transporation resources for my brother. I was nearly in tears (of joy and relief), as my family has a barbecue each month at my sister's house and my brother has always looked forward to these. It is one of the things in life that he still recognizes and that brings him joy. Thank you to Kelly and GoldenBoy for giving us new hope! read more

Exceptional professional Service. Extremely responsine to the customer. STRONGEST RECOMME DATION for handucsp conversion and service. .

As a long time satisfied customer, 19 years, I am continually impressed by your tremendous service, responsiveness and professionalism. The most recent example was just this past week. When my lift became inoperable, Levi arranged for someone to come to my house and diagnose the problem. Within 24 hours he diagnosed the problem and ordered the parts. Before the week was over, the parts were ordered expeditiously, you picked up my van, fixed it and returned it to me in time for the weekend! And....he made sure everything was covered under the warranty including two trips to my home by your staff. And by the way, all of this began on a Monday, your most challenging day, with Paul on medical leave. I am so thankful for you prioritizing me, doing amazing work and always being there for me. Thank you Levi and the Golden Boy staff! Paul read more

The Golden Mobility team has exceeded my expectations! When the receptionist answered my first call - I thought her friendly and professional demeanor might be an indication of what was to come from the team. Keith has been a rock star in terms of understanding my needs and doing everything possible to ensure his first sale was a perfect experience for this customer. I can't thank him enough for his assistance in this process from initial contact to the ultimate pickup of the van by a transport company. He displayed compassion, accountability, and instilled trust... essential traits of the quintessential sales person. I will never look elsewhere when it comes to my vehicle needs. (I only wish you were a DME provider as well.) During the process we found that we needed to install the hand controls here as they could not be done at the van's final destination in Maine until October. Keith worked with the GB team (Sean, Eric and you) who all committed to make it happen despite your full schedule. I can't express how much I appreciated that! It's a credit to you that your Golden Boy mission is instilled in all you hire. Any competitors should take note! With so much appreciation, Carrie read more

This company is 1 of 3 legit places to have adaptive equipment installed in vehicles in San Diego. I only recommend going to licensed installers of adaptive equipment for safety purposes. Don't buy things online - not worth the potential safety issues in my opinion. My son is a first time driver and needed some specialty equipment. Golden Boy was suggested by all the PT/OT specialists we worked with. The sales and service team is exceptionally good at what they do, friendly, extremely professional and safety oriented (like me, can you tell?). Every interaction I had with them was ultra pleasant and uplifting. Johnny is so great and the gal who answers the phone is super upbeat and friendly. I can't remember the name of the man who did the fitting (so sorry) but he was fabulous too. Everyone we worked with was very safety oriented and very patient with our requests. I called many times asking many questions. They were also very educational and shared extra information that I wouldn't have known to ask. I highly recommend Golden Boy Mobility which has been around, innovating and serving our great community since the 70's. I encourage you to ask about the company's history. It's awesome and fascinating! Such an exceptional and feel good experience for our family. Thank you a million times Golden Boy! read more

GoldenBoy Mobility was wonderful! My son and I met with Johnny to find out about the mobility lift chairs that replace the passenger side chair in a truck. I ordered a Evo chair installed.... and my husband was lifted and seated into his truck for the first time in 5 years! The people in this company are kind and courteous, easy to talk to. And when we came to pick up the truck, Shawn did a great job explaining in detail how to use the chair. Thank you GoldenBoy Mobility! read more

I was very pleased with the process from start to finish working with Goldenboy Mobility. I spoke with a few vendors and decided that Goldenboy Mobility would be the one to assist me with my needs. I appreciated their genuine desire to help and their willingness to listen to my concerns or questions. Sean walked through the process of getting services for my vehicle. Jason, Paul, and Johnny took care of me when I arrived to get fitted for my car's adaptive equipment and explained every detail of what was installed and how to use it, making sure I felt comfortable with the way things were set up. Thank you for your help in making the process very smooth and seamless. If you are needing your vehicle retrofitted for any accessible, adaptive needs, Goldenboy is the place to go! Highly recommend GoldenBoy for any mobility needs. Service was quick and understanding of my time requirements. 10/10

We originally purchased our mobility van in January 2023 and after a period of 18 months, we decided to sell and Sean at Golden Boy Mobility generously offered to see if they could take it back and sell it on their own. After about a week, Sean contacted us and said that they would buy it back from us and sell it. We were so appreciative that they were willing to do that. During the 18 months that we had the van and needed service, they were extremely professional and courteous. We have had nothing but exceptional service from Golden Boy Mobility and will definitely recommend them to anyone that needs mobility. read more

do not take your vehicle here. they forgot to give our wheelchair back and when i called paul was so rude. told me it was my fault.... my fault despite they "forgot" to put our van into the chair. he said it was my fault for not checking the van...im sorry disabled and don't use the van everyday!!!! then he started to grill me about how often we use the wheelchair as if he needs to know medical history to justify their mistake!! then i ask for his boss name and he refused because he told me i had an attitude?! he refused to give me the info and nothing but verbal abuse and invasive questions about my disability! read more

We recently worked with GoldenBoy Mobility to purchase an adaptive van for our 5 year old disabled daughter. I can't say enough great things about them, specially John. They made what could have been a painful process so smooth and pleasant! From their knowledge of the various services and organizations needing to be involved, to helping keep all of the steps on track it was an overall wonderful experience. They aren't "salesy" at all, honest and truly care about getting you the right vehicle for your needs that will last. If you're looking to purchase an adaptive vehicle or get one converted, these are your guys.Their help is already making a world of difference for our little girl and we can't thank them enough! read more

We just purchased a Freedom Motor Works conversion for our Toyota Sienna Van. With Covid-19, there were a lot of challenges and delays. Sean Peterson, handled the challenges with the highest quality of customer service I have experienced in recent times. When everything is going well it is easy to provide good service, when they get challenging, that is when the best of the best shines. Sean never was defensive, he kept us well informed and when the Van got back from Michigan he rolled out the red carpet. The Freedom Motor Works Conversion exceeded our expectations. read more

We needed to put hand controls in my brother's new electric car. We are based in LA and GoldenBoy seemed like the best option in Southern California--and in the end it was definitely worth the distance. Johnny, Paul, and Leann were all awesome to work with. They were able to fit us in quickly once the parts were delivered (took a few days) and were receptive to that we were in a hurry to get it done. They made sure everything in the car was comfortable for my brother. read more

I've used a couple different mobility companies and GoldenBoy is by far the BEST in San Diego! They really understand what needs to be done so they can do the job right the first time. GoldenBoy has the ability to do custom work which none of the other ability shops can do. That helped me out a lot because I needed standard installation of a hand control but also needed a power door kit custom made. They did it all and they did an amazing job! Everyone at GoldenBoy is great to work with! Save your time and energy and just give these guys a call. read more

Here is my tale of woe. A year or so ago, I needed a new switch for my wheelchair lift, which was still under warranty. The switch I had was taped back together, and was working, and installing this switch seemed within my (limited) skill set, so I agreed, no problem, have them ship me the switch, and I will install it myself. Time goes by, and my old switch finally failed. Of course, by this time I could no longer find it- further, my mobility issues deteriorated, and I thought it would be better to pay for installation. So, I call, get the service manager (Sean) and he agrees to order another, and call when it comes in. Three weeks go by, no call. I call back, only to discover the switch was never ordered, and they would not even do so, until I make the 45 minute drive so they can confirm which part was needed. (Apparently, my file had been misplaced.) Another week goes by, and it finally arrives, and they schedule the service another week out. I arrive as planned, and 1/2 hour or so later, they explain that they need to do this and that, it would probably take two hours or so, and they were already time committed for that day- so I set yet another trip to Poway (I live almost in Mexico, in S. San Diego.) After playing with it a half hour or so, again, I am told I'd need to reschedule, as this would take a couple of hours. When I protested that this is why I was here today, he upped his time, "it might take four hours and we just can't do it today." Fine, I whined, "just give me my keys." When he realized I wouldn't be back, he said "well, that's fine. I'll just add another hour to your bill." Whatever, it didn't really matter to me. I am disputing the credit card charge anyway. Even after I pointed out that he never even did what the work order requested, simply installing the switch, he insisted on being rude. It's amazing to me that theirs is a customer service business. read more

All I can say is AMAZING! my husband had a back & neck injury in Iraq and then lost his leg as the result of a motorcycle accident a few years later. He is out of the Marine Corps now and thankfully the VA has a car adaptation program. Golden boy revamped my husband truck and it is such a smoother ride on his back, easier to get in and even had a cool lift for his wheelchair. Sean, Jesse and Levi are creative and professional and definitely have the customers best interest in mind every step of the way! read more

If you are considering purchasing a vehicle, buyer beware! My father purchased a used van from GB with the understanding that an inoperable seat would be fixed as part of the purchase price. After the seat was fixed, GB CHARGED him for the repair before the van would be returned to him. My father paid in full for the vehicle and it took him several phone calls and and letter threatening legal proceedings to receive the pink slip. All in all, 6 months had lapsed before he received the documentation. If we could give less than a one star review, it would be a negative number as the experience was a nightmare. read more

This outfit is the greatest. 1. Very good work, incredible quality and attention to detail. 2. Really want to make your vehicle work for you. 3. Friendly and considerate staff, from the moment you walk in the door. The modification they did for me presented a couple of unexpected issues (due to the van's structure) which they solved in a very creative way. They are masters of machining and fabricating custom parts for this sort of thing. The end result was far better than what I had on my old van. You really can't go wrong with this outfit. Highly recommended. read more

I didn't have a great experience with Goldenboy. I bought a van that was on consignment, but they never measured me or made sure I could drive this van. I returned the van after 5 days it broke down on me. When they looked it over I was told the motor was burned out. The owner of the company told me he would make it right. After 3 months of the van not selling, I decided to just take it home and sell it myself. The owner didn't make it right, he tried to charge me for a part I didn't break. He also told me I wasn't the right fix for his business. Sad but true I'm not. I feel they never had time for me, they didn't try to help me get this van equipped in he right way for me. I am now stuck with a van I can't drive and m having a hard time selling. I wish they could have taken the time to really help me out, and make sure I was happy. Every time I called thy either we're busy, never returned my cal, or made an excuse why they weren't available. It was always my fault, they never took responsibility for anything. That's my opinion Thanks read more
