I purchased a chairlift from Pacific Mobility more than a decade ago. At the time I had foot surgery and the lift allowed me to get up & down the stairs. Once I was rehab'ed & able to walk again, I used the lift as a sort of dumbwaiter shuttling my groceries and laundry and Xmas decorations from the bottom to the top. I just had it serviced as it had been a long time & now she runs a little faster and way smoother. MaryAnn is the best - so kind and professional. She always takes good care of me. This is one of my very few five star reviews, and it's well deserved. Though the process took about 2 months, the problems were all mine and had nothing with this company. I have a relative who needed the batteries replaced in his Jazzy Electric Scooter. There were communication issues several times, financing and a range of other problems that kept cropping up. But through all the calls and follow up calls, Pacific Mobility was professional, to the point, and, you might not believe it, every question I asked was answered with a solid Yes or No. Mary Ann took care of everything and lacked nothing at finishing the job. When I finally got my act together, the service technician was able to come the very next day. He even cleaned the entire chair and did some other housekeeping. Our son Little Billy has a terminal disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He loves playing with his two sisters, but at times they may play with the upstairs or downstairs toys and he is left waiting for someone to carry him. While we have been happy to carry him, he often didn't ask because he is very quiet and instead just played alone. Other times he just wanted a toy from the other floor. His disease had robbed him of this freedom and it was something we wanted to give him. Also, he is getting heavier and carrying him up or down will become difficult and unsafe. The whole team from start to finish provided an absolute best in class experience. I always knew I was partnering with folks that care about their client and enjoy providing a form of assistance and giving freedom. I never felt pressured and everything was explained to me throughout. A few days ago Little Billy got his stairlift. He can finally get up and down without being carried. Had a Bruno Stairlift installed, worked fine till recently and stopped working. My wife needs to move up and down stairs. They finally made time to correct problem, but I had to leave the house to take my wife to treatment, having a neighbor watch the house. Technician replaced circuit board, tested with controls on chair as sat. I needed to move chair with remote, chair did nothing. Tried both remotes, changed batteries, no not working. Contacted PMC and was told I will be put in line when they can get to us. So the work to replace the board was done, but no testing of the remotes was completed. read more

Hello, a few years ago, you installed a stairlift for my Mother in rancho Bernardo. It worked great, all was good. I distinctly remember you told me you had a buy-back program, however you did say it was a very reduced amount. ( sales Rep estimated maybe $300 ). I agreed to this upon purchase. However, when I called to say my Mother passed away, so we no longer needed the chair-lift, you told me NO, buy back possible and that I had to pay you $150 to come and take it away ! - Please know I called your competitor, who was happy to come get it, for no charge at all. They also sell the Bruno brand chairs. - PS- when somebody on the phone mention's their loved-ones passing, I recommend you at least acknowledge it, maybe even say " sorry to hear this"....- Your Rep said nothing at all. - a very disappointing experience overall. Pricing was reasonable at $3300 for straight stairs (we got a quote for close to $10k from Handicare and that took a month just for the quote). Installation was done efficiently by Brian. About 10 years ago I was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). I decided for safety reasons I wanted a curved stair lift for our home so I could safely get up and down the stairs. I researched online and on Myositis Facebook pages asking for recommendations. After visiting two showrooms in So. California it was obvious to us that the Bruno chairlift would be the best. There were some less expensive models but once you try them out and experience them at the showrooms it wasn't even close. Bruno was the most stable and had such a better quality than the others. Again, it wasn't even close. Most importantly to us was the customers service we got from Pacific Mobility. Chris came out to the house and measured for an estimate. He offered for us to come to his showroom to see a couple of the models they sell and install. I have been in sales for 35 years and was impressed with Chris and his desire to help us through the process. Most of the other salesman were very very pushy. Chris was excellent. Also, Anthony came out and installed and we were very impressed with their care installing the lift as we just had new carpeting put in the day before. My project was to provide a safe method for my Mother 90 1/2 years old to enter and leave her mobile home without climbing up and down steps. So I called Jeff at Pacific Mobility Center to help design and modify an existing deck to accommodate a power lift system installation. Jeff and his deck construction team did an OUTSTANDING Job keeping me informed as to schedule and delivery dates. The dedication of Eric and his wife (Construction team) who modified the existing deck to accommodate a wheel chair was outstanding. They are Excellent. It's a family owned business in San Marcos/ Rancho Santa Fe. I found it very helpful to drive down to the showroom in that they have working models on display that you can sit in and test on their small staircases. No high pressure sales - they go over what they have and leave it to you to make a decision if a stairlift is right for you. From MV it was a 55 min drive. For us the timeline from purchase to install was 8 days. A curved staircase unit has to be custom built which means it takes probably 7 weeks or more and costs significantly more. Our salesperson was Mary Ann (very professional and helpful). We purchased a Bruno for our straight staircase in that Bruno is built in USA and very well rated nationally. Our staircase is a bit higher than many and required a 20' rail. With their discounts you can expect to get a very nice straight staircase Bruno for $3200-$3500 otd installed. You can also lease a unit but it didn't seem cost effective in our case. Likewise, used units weren't that much cheaper than a new one. I do believe if unit purchase is supported by a letter from your physician then some % of cost can be written off at tax time. I would Pacific Mobility again without hesitation. Al read more

I just finished helping my 94 year old grandfather install a stair lift in his house. Reviews and community consensus for businesses that target this generation are very important! It is very easy to take advantage of the elderly, and since they are usually not computer savvy - they do not go to the internet with their experience. I contacted several companies to help install the stair lift in his house. He would have just gone with the first one in the phone book, like the "good old days." None of the contractors in this area had/have a significant number of online reviews so I had to go with my gut. Pacific Mobility Center was not the cheapest option (usually a sign of poor quality) and they were not available to install the lift as quickly as some of the other contractors (only by a few days), but I like their honesty. I dealt with the owner on the phone and she was very honest about what was involved, which lift my grandfather actually needed for his height and weight, and what the real, no bs cost would be. When the install day came I dealt with two installers, Brian and Anthony, both of them were nice and conversational with my grandfather. All of the on-site workers were professional. They did not not leave a mess and the product came as promised. Everyone we worked with was very patient and knew their product. We ended up going with a Bruno stair lift. I went over every nut and bolt, and his electrical wiring was 100% perfection. Not everyone will agree that all lifts are the same. What a difference this has made in my life! Unfortunately, a couple of falls this last year have caused me to have to put both feet on each step to climb up and down the stairs. As a result, I don't make the trip upstairs often. My stained glass equipment, my sewing machine for quilting and my computer sit idly by as it has been too difficult to go up and down.
