This was my second visit to Senet and I love it EVEN more than I did before!!! SO my daughter looked it up for me and saw that kids CAN be there until 8pm!! Which is great because yes that's plenty late!! We popped in around 6:30pm on 1/3/26. It still looked NYE festive and felt as chill as usual. My kids and I were dying for some nachos and to chill and play a couple of games!! We ordered at the bar and I got a She Spicy (basically a spicy margarita,) and vegan nachos no cheese (I don't need it, but it had salsa and black beans and I added Butternut squash. YUM. Yes please and thank you!!! My daughter got vegan nachos with vegan cheese and added jalapeno. My son got vegan nachos with just beans and vegan cheese. My son got RC cola and my daughter asked for an Italian Soda. The staff is SO caring and kind and I honestly feel like I'm at a friend's house except that I'm being served. We started working on the game and instructions and one of the lovely ladies came over and said that Italian Soda usually has milk in it (I never knew this!!) And she said she noticed we were vegan so would we like it without? I said yes please!! I thought that was SO considerate!! My son doesn't usually eat as well as his sister, and if she has ANY type of Mexican food she eats twice as much, if not more, than he will. So while I ordered her a full nacho, I ordered him a half order. He wanted more so on the second order the other lovely lady suggested salsa (which I encouraged and said yes to,) as they had run out of dairy free cheese. He tried the salsa but in typical fashion, pouted and said NO I didn't want it on all of the nachos. (insert mom sigh and heavy eye roll.) The sweet lady overheard us and said I can remake it if he would prefer that. And he said yes please. And then he said "wow they are so caring and nice here! That was so kind to offer that!" To which I said YES you're right!! By the end of our evening both kids were saying they loved Senet because the staff are SO kind and friendly. Five stars just for existing! I absolutely love that this is a thing. We went here for the first time and loved their extensive game collection, fun drinks (including non-alc) and super cute rooms. We all ordered nachos (bold that this place only serves finger foods) and they were fantastic, and somehow stayed crispy the entire night! I found out about this place one day after their 4th Wing Trivia Night and I'm super bummed. Dear owners, please do another 4th wing trivia night! Anyway love this place, cannot recommend it enough. Its more focused on party/low mental energy games than say Guardian Games is which I think is a perfect atmosphere here. Also way less sweaty. Me and my patna loved the idea of this bar. There was a huge selection of games to choose from and the service was great. All of the staff was incredibly friendly which is rare when coming to a bar. The drinks were great as well, however we had thought that the food could be a little bit better. I had the italian pizza which I found great, however the cheese quesadilla was sort of bland. The layout was great but we found the stuffed taxidermy cat quite freaky & out of place. If it were displayed on a wall, I think the table in the back would get more customers to sit in that area. read more

So much fun! I came to Tigard with my boyfriend just to check out the downtown, and we stumbled upon this place. Super inviting and fun atmosphere, really fun employees, young, hip clientele. We tried the Italian pita pizza which was so good. We also had the basic nachos and they were a little over-toasted, but still tasty. Could have used some jalapeños tho! Unfortunately they were in the process of getting ready to remodel (or do something to) their kitchen, so they were trying to just move inventory and not restock new things. The beer that I tried was very flat, so I ordered a can. The games are very fun and well-marked so you can choose based on how many people in your party. We visited this spot for a local date night which drew us in with their game board selection, weekly activities and delicious menu. Wednesday night was bingo which started at 8pm and allowed us to play a few board games, drink some beers and enjoy dinner. We ordered the Italian, meat master pita pizza and shared the tomato soup with grilled cheese. Their kitchen is on a smaller side, 2 people cooking for the entire place so it took some time but you have drinks and games to make the time go by quickly. This business became a fast new favorite for my best friends and I! Great atmosphere and friendly staff who always have a smile on their face and are happy to serve you. The allure of this place is they serve drinks, shareable food options, and have a whole bunch of board games for you to play with a party. We came here one year ago for the first time and we have been trying to come at least monthly to reconnect and help the business stick around as long as possible. If you want to come here with a party I recommend calling ahead of time to reserve a table as it can get pretty busy once the night gets running on weekends. Amazing- easily the friendliest bar I have been to in the Portland metro area. This board-game based bar is located upstairs in a building located in Downtown Tigard- much more relaxed and quiet than many popular neighborhoods in Portland. They have a creative and excellent cocktail menu, a sizeable tap list and a decent-sized food menu. They also host game and trivia nights, such as Bingo and "nerd" trivia. The main attraction, however, is the extensive collection of games that you can play as you drink and eat. If I recall, they are connected to the board game shop downstairs and it is a good way to test out a game before you dedicate to purchasing it. While I wish I was more adventurous, I tend to stick to classic Chess or perhaps a game of Magic. Who knows, maybe if I come here enough, I can meet some new people and play something different! What I like most is that it is a fun, relaxed and chill environment that is out of the hustle and bustle of Portland. I moved out to the suburbs last year and while I like it almost completely, sometimes I wish there were more options for nightlife that aren't dive bars or wine bars- where are all the places in the middle? This bar is set up above the game shop. If you plan on buying a game and getting a drink, recommend that you get the drink first. Your receipt at Senet will garner you a percentage off your purchase downstairs. When you're buying 3-4 euro games, that discount is worth it! The bar itself is very bright and clean. It felt more coffee cafe-like than a bar though IMO. Needs some cozy warmth to it. My game companions said they had good alcoholic drink options, while I opted for their non-alcoholic offerings (Ginger beer, Trader Joe's Apple cider). A bit pricey for my drinks but it lets you play their library of games! There's a lot to choose from. They've labeled the games so it's easy to pick out - 1-2 players, 3-4, party games etc. There's a couch area right by the library, and then tables along the side wall. How disappointing; I have wanted to check this place out for several years and I finally had the chance. Unfortunately, my group of 5 had a really poor experience overall here. The good? The food is really good. The bad? There was a group next to us playing a game involving slapping the table. Every minute or so, this group of four slammed the table as hard as they could and frequently screeched in response to the outcome. The acoustics of the bar make it so that sound travels very easily through this location. My entire group was frequently bothered by the noise to a very significant degree. Not once did the staff request the table to please play more gently or be mindful of their shouting -- instead, after waiting more than half an hour for this to cease, when I requested that they please moderate the group in their establishment, I was told, "well, it's a bar." Ma'am, I've been in many bars, and behavior like THAT is usually a sign of overconsumption. Either way, sometimes obnoxious behavior needs to be moderated for the comfort of others - I was shocked at this response and very disappointed. I feel bad giving such a low star review to a local business, but allowing one group to ruin the experience of the other patrons in the bar... read more

I really wanted to like this place. We've been coming here almost once a week for about 6 months but tonight was the last night. The food is decent except for the pizza. The cocktail specials are amazing. There's board games you can borrow. But it's almost like there's no attention or careful consideration to detail. The chairs and tables are uncomfortable. There's no sound dampening so it gets loud and you have to yell. There are often tables reserved for hours at a time, and no one shows up. multiple times I have seen a large table, sit empty for two hours, and when they finally release it, there's a musical tables effect that happened because everybody moved to a more comfortable table. One time we were told that there might not be room for us because it was trivia night. They preemptively reserved a bunch of tables and they didn't fill all their tables. We had to sit at a crappy uncomfortable table until it became apparent that nobody was going to show up and then we got to sit in a more comfortable table. There is a couch and chair that they could remove and add more tables to help alleviate overcrowding. The staff there is also not nice. I will go up to the counter to order another drink or check out, and I will have to stand there for several minutes sometimes until someone acknowledges me, even though I am the only customer there. They also seem annoyed to serve us every single time we come in. We aren't rude. We are very friendly; we tip well so I don't know why they seem annoyed to see us every single time we come. Combined including tip we probably would spend $60-$70 an evening so it's not like we're sitting there playing games and not purchasing anything to eat or drink. For the last two months, there have been a lot of fruit flies. I'm not sure why there are fruit flies there in winter. It makes me nervous that there might be some in the alcohol. read more

Went here with a couple of friends yesterday. The atmosphere is super cool, it's upstairs above a huge board game store and the bar itself has a ton of different games to choose from for you and your friends to play. There is a bar area, some normal tables, and then a couch style area for more comfort and bigger groups in the back; there is also some really cool comic style and Oregon style art for sale all around the walls. The reason that this place gets knocked down to 3 stars (and almost 2) was the pricing/food! I live in Downtown Portland and frequent many restaurants/bars around the Portland area and this place in Tigard (a bar, above a game store, very casual) was substantially more expensive than a large majority of the places I've been to in Portland. Nachos, which were very basic and overloaded with sour cream (good for some, terrible for others) were $16 with a very minuscule amount of basic pulled chicken on them, cocktails that were specifically stated as "made with well liquor" were in the range of $12-$15 per cocktail and basic well drinks (vodka/soda) was $6. These prices are on par with what you would expect in the Pearl District or maybe cocktail prices at a fancier place/cocktail lounge, but for an extremely casual bar in Tigard where you order at the bar this was mind-blowing. This place has a lot of potential, has a really cool concept, and the staff was very friendly; but their menu is grossly over-priced for typical cocktails and very standard food, if they can fix that and bring it down to fair and normal prices then I think it will be great... until then, next. read more

Went to check out this bar to partake in some boardgames with a beer or three, and I was floored by how great this place is! The space is great for spreading out your favorite game and there was plenty of good lighting. They have an awesome selection of beers on tap, and several whiskeys to choose from. They had some really good food options too... not just generic bar food from a deep fryer, so snacks were taken care of. The staff were super knowledgeable on the games they keep on hand and were able to recommend things based on what we were in the mood for. I heard they have a certain night in the week where they teach people how to play games. I will have to come back for one of those.
