Step up a few stairs, walk through the main entrance doors and beyond the sofas in the foyer is the entrance which looks more like an entrance to an office. The door gives way to slightly dim warm lighting, which creates an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. I sat at the bar with my husband and heard the bartender, Phillip taking repeated orders of old fashioned and espresso martini. I saw a table polishing glasses and glasses of wines and then came the surprise - their selections! Their selections were smaller than expected but thoughtfully chosen. We asked Phillip for his recommendations, along the lines of red & bold. He gladly pointed us to a wine that was not on the menu. It seems they offer a menu selection and off-menu/rotating selection from unique wine regions. We had a red blend from China (yes that's correct, it surprised me equally). But then I realized, I haven't had wines from most of the regions they offer and the curiosity sets in. Looking forward to explore the menu and off-menu selection. Their white sangria was delicious, and they have some really good drink specials. We tried quite a few dishes, including the croquetas, patatas bravas, steak with chimichurri, Spanish jamón, and bone marrow. The steak was one of my favorites, and the croquetas were fantastic! Everything we ordered was delicious, and I really enjoyed being able to try so many different things instead of just ordering one big meal. What I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It's lively but still has that intimate feel that makes it perfect for a date. You can sit back, enjoy your sangria, share a bunch of tapas, and have a great evening without feeling rushed. I'd heard about Magie for a while from friends in the natural wine scene in Orlando and had to visit while in town. There is convenient (although somewhat limited) parking just to the side of the building, and entering feels like you just entered your cool friend's house. We almost sat inside on a couple of sofas, but opted to brave the humid Miami heat on the back porch/terrace since they were playing the World Cup game on a projection screen. The back is huge and has several sitting areas, including on an elevated porch with fans, as well as couches and bistro tables set up on the pavers down below. There is foliage everywhere and you feel transported (you'd have no clue this business was on a busy road). We got a couple of bottles of wine from their fridges, along with a smattering of shareable dishes from the kitchen (ordered inside). Everything was delightful and we were loving life (again- even in the humid summer heat!). I'd definitely return and enjoy the interior next time. Love a good wine and nosh spot and this is solidly at the top of my list when visiting Miami!

When we went on a Saturday, the music was just too loud and the environment was a bit overstimulating. The servers and the people helping you at the front are very friendly and willing to answer questions. The Magie plate option was my favorite, with the added pickles, bread etc being so tasty on the charcuterie board. I do wish they had more wine by the glass options instead of getting a whole bottle because sometimes that's not what you really want. The inside is decorated very nicely, but during busier times you might struggle to find an open table or seat as groups of just two can take up entire couch areas, and there is not much regulation of this. There is a nice outdoor area, but in rainny Miami you don't have as many opportunities to use it.
