Many places are a bit run down or operated by large corporate chains. My experience with the bigger chains is frequent and unpredictable rate increases. Then someone recommended Smart Storage which had just opened about a month ago. AMAZING! The place is brand new, really well designed, and I appreciate that access is NOT 24/7. Currently access is 6AM -11PM. I never loved the idea of people rooting around at all hours of the night. The units are immaculate and it appears that all of the infrastructure, cameras, and access doors are the latest tech. The best part of the entire experience is the owner Steve. This is a family owned and operated business. What a difference from dealing with an anonymous corporation. Steve helped me figure out the right storage solution for my needs and made the entire experience a joy. I look forward to coming here. I was in charge of organizing the logistics. Which, by the way, is my least favorite thing to do in a time crunch. I've had horrible storage facility experiences in the past but was impressed by my experience with this facility. The main item being, I didn't even need to interact with anyone to get this handled. We already had enough going on, so this convenience was VERY appreciated. After a quick yelp search, Buckeye State Storage popped up. I noticed they were literally minutes from Cleveland State which was super convenient for my cousin. I immediately went onto their website and reserved their move-in special, a 10x10 for $99. I instantly received a gate code, room #, and my cousin already had her own lock from the past that she held onto. She dropped her stuff off 20 minutes later. That was easy!

I did quite a bit of research, and found the best deal at CubeSmart. They helped me determine how I would get the best deal (they had a few specials running and because I only need the space for winter and not year round, I went with the percentage off per month rather than the free month if you buy a year.) The staff was really fast and efficient, and even made sure to let me know that my 18.5 foot long coupe might be a tight squeeze in the 20 foot unit because of the vagaries of measurement and construction. There isn't a ton to say about self storage- the facility is gated and the staff is helpful. I went with them largely because the had the best price by far, and the great and honest service is a bonus. One caveat- be sure to call them and ask about pricing. They don't always list the best deals on their web site, but if you call they will help you out.

This was happening 2days in a row and then they just did not pick the phone at all!!! I contacted them on email- no answer. Also as I google this company realized we are not the only people that are going thru this. Try to avoid this company as much as you can.

After a few weeks and waiting for a RV to park for the winter. Went in and met with Brad the GM of the Storage Zone. Had all the paper work in place and ready to sign. Originally quoted before hand $100 a month. Was asked when ready to sign up if anyone quoted me? Told the GM he did and said $100 he quoted. He told me he would never would of quoted me that price that he needed to get $145 a month. I refused and walked out. Found another heated place and no issues with new place. Be careful and make sure you get signed paper work when your first agree on rental price. Brad might change his mind when you go back to sign up

After hiring NorthCoast for an out-of-state move, the company took custody of our household…read morepossessions and moved them into their "temperature-controlled " storage facility. All of our furnishings, including our Oriental rug, were in excellent condition, clean, and moth-free prior to the move. When our possessions were delivered to our new residence, the rug was infested with live moth larvae and could not be salvaged. Much of our furniture was delivered unwrapped or partially wrapped and showed evidence of moth activity. In addition, we discovered that a number of items that had been placed in NorthCoast's custody were missing from the moving truck. The company owner promised to make us "whole" and advised us to file a claim for damages. Following our submission of all requested documentation, NorthCoast denied our claim, asserting that our furnishings must have had a moth issue prior to the company taking custody of them. The company also relies on the terms of a standard Storage Agreement, which it claims absolves it of all damage to a consumer's property, even when it has taken custody of the property as part of a contract to safely and carefully handle and move the consumer's possessions from one location to another. As for the missing items, NorthCoast never acknowledged our communications regarding the items and completely ignored our requests to search their facility for the missing property. We are out-of-pocket thousands of dollars due to NorthCoast's failure to properly care for and deliver our household possessions.
