I signed up to work with him as I was stuck in a rut & wanted to try something totally different, that would be tailored exactly to me & my specific needs. I found our sessions to be eye-opening, life changing & surprisingly fun too! Before speaking to Justin, I was slightly hesitant about the idea of working with a man. After speaking to him by video call (we used Zoom), he immediately put my mind & heart at ease & I trusted him from the very beginning. Justin is a gentle soul. To be honest, I was also a bit skeptical of having Beach Therapy Online through Video, but after the first session, I was hooked by both the approach of Beach Therapy as well as the medium of Video sessions. As a Mom with a young toddler, I loved the convenience of not having to travel for sessions. This was a huge relief for me. The strategies that Justin shared with me, especially those involving the use of colors that had particular meaning for me, helped me to prioritize what was most important to me in my life. During every session, I felt fully listened to & understood. Even more importantly, I noticed that my life began to change right away. I believe this is due to Justin's considerable professional skills & experience. Prior to creating Beach Therapy, Justin worked for many years as a Mental Health Therapist & Life Coach & it really showed. As an experienced clinician myself, who also employs an evidence based & applied neuroscience approach, I felt confident in his skills & his knowledge. In our meetings he shared with me many practical & easily implementable tools, which I know helped create lasting change in my life. I have worked with several therapists and coaches over the years, and never before have I learned & laughed so much in so little time. I have made several important changes in my life as a result of working with Justin and have benefited greatly from Beach Therapy. as well as from Justin's gentle guidance. He was very collaborative throughout & I loved how he was able to tailor the sessions to exactly what I needed at the time. I always felt like he had my best interests at heart. In a nutshell, Justin is incredibly warm, friendly & super encouraging. I highly recommend Beach Therapy & Justin to anyone seeking to make significant changes in their lives (and who isn't?) that stick, in as short a period of time as possible. I will definitely consult him again & I hope the next time will be on an actual Beach!

This review is being posted a week following my session…read more I'm so appreciative of Justin Miller for an incredible beach therapy session. It was my first time, and I had no idea how it worked or if the outcome would be successful. I now know that going in with an open mind and being intentional of my desired result were the best way to approach this radical concept of healing in the ocean. This was an experiential, active therapy that involves your senses. I will always remember the floating exercise, the choppy waves, and my thoughts and feelings. Following the session, I spent some time journalling and writing down my take-aways. We watched a beautiful sunset and even saw the moon over Diamond Head! It was a magical night! And best yet..... I believe the session provided a breakthrough as I had a huge shift in perception and improved relationship. I recommend Beach Therapy with Justin if you are looking for a transformation in your life. The ocean is cleansing and the exercises Justin leads are really impactful!

The Barefoot Ballroom is upstairs, and as the name suggests, this is a shoes off facility. The lobby downstairs is welcoming and has two restrooms, along with another room used for classes. The upstairs Barefoot Ballroom is where I took both of my class types. I was a little curious about the ceiling height for aerial yoga since it is a regular height ceiling rather than a tall studio, but it ended up not being an issue at all for the class. Everything was set up well and we had plenty of room to move. I also love that they offer virtual classes, so you can even take hula classes from home . That is such a fun option if you want to learn something Hawaiian while you are away from the islands. Overall, a welcoming studio with great instructors and a nice variety of classes. I would definitely take another class here if I am back in Honolulu.

I took the class with Catherine, the studio's owner, and really appreciated her approach: excellent instruction, a strong focus on form, and small, controlled movements that deliver a seriously challenging workout.
