I called The Mailbox store and spoke to a guy who explained that the charge is based not only the weight but the size of the box. He said they have multiple boxes for sale and if I came in, we could try and find a cheaper solution. I stopped in on the way home and after a couple of different "fittings" we found the smallest box that would fit the coat. Total cost including the box $47. Needless to say, I was excited to receive a set of eero wifi devices (1 pro plus 1 beacon) as a gift. Never having dealt with this mesh wifi network, I had a few questions about how I could set up this new eero system and how it works in general. Plus wanted to figure out if it would be a better/stronger signal than the current set up. Both my husband and I have been working from home, so we need a reliable signal, especially having to use Teams for all the meetings. When given an option, I always would rather go to a small family run business with a great reputation then a large corporate one. Luckily, I had a friend from high school that happened to own a company that helps with things like this for home owners. Even though we might be in IL, Louis was able to answer my questions and ensure I could set everything up. He provided quick, friendly service over the phone. Most people aren't aware of how sick all of the wifi is making us. Lou is very friendly and seemed very knowledgeable about what I was requesting. However the job turned out to not give us what we wanted. He sold us a package of wifi routers that all rated very high on my RF meter, something he assured me wasn't the case and when I sent him the video of my RF meter reading, he never even responded. Lou also assured me that the products he sold me had the ability to be turned on and off, this turned out to be false info and so we have a new system that is WORSE than our old one that I hired Lou to help us make safer and better. When I sent him a text message stating we wanted to return the products, he also never responded - and later said I was "stringing him along" trying to avoid paying his invoice, which completely false. He also initially did a very sloppy job, my husband was horrified when he saw it and insisted Lou fix it as much as he was able - Lou did make several improvements but we still had to spend 300$ patching and painting around the large holes he drilled (it was not explained to me how big the holes would be and how much the wiring would show.) Lou might be great at doing wifi but it turned out that he did not know a lot about a wired system. The worst part of my experience though was in trying to communicate with him about all of this in regard to settling our bill, he went several weeks without even responding to me and then claimed that I was stringing him along and threatened to send me to a collection agency. I'm sorry, that's simply acting in bad faith. I paid the bill in full, rather than deal with the situation any further but I will never work with Lou again.

I have been using him to repair my small (8 machine) work-group as well as home computers for more than 3 years, and have found his work of consistent good quality and his prices quite reasonable. Often he has taught me things that have allowed me to do some of our own trouble shooting and upgrades as well. In most instances he logs into my computer from afar and is able to diagnose and repair without having to be on site, although at times he comes here or we get machines to him when really necessary. All in all The Computer Shop is an outstanding small business run by an upstanding individual who makes me want to send him business, although fortunately I don't have to call him often since his fixes generally work the first time!

I brought my MacBook in after it crashed and after I was told by many others to just throw it away…read morebecause it couldn't be fixed. When I brought it to RSA, they told me it didn't look good but they would give it their best shot. I called and bothered the guys everyday, sometimes twice a day, and got an update on the computer each time. They were so patient. After only a couple of days, they were able to fix the computer and reload all of my programs on it. I don't remember the exact price, but I remember being shocked by how low the price was, considering how attentive they were and the fact that no one else thought it could be fixed. I would highly recommend going to RSA for any computer problems. These guys are brilliant, attentive and patient.

However, for my virus covered hard drive, it took about a week and a half, 250$, and an eradication of my previous data. I personally restored all data on my PC, but the cost and time it took for it to be repaired at a rather menial outcome is quite disheartening. It is completely understandable, however, that they did their job as quickly and efficiently as they could. They asked for my permission to even go through my hard drive prior to their repair - something that warrants a good commendation in the practice of privacy minding. They will not release any of the contents, regardless of the matter. They are confidential in their search to fix an infected PC. Aside from computer repair issues, they boast that they can help with video game consoles - things I have not explored like XBOX's RAMROD Repair or on line connections. It's worth a try to come here than mail in a system or go to an occupied larger company; I'd give my recommendation to that. Adorned in the tiny store are multiple anti viruses and hardware, which I recall were for sale. Now don't get me wrong - I support local business, and seeing this place as probably cheaper and friendlier than their bigwig counterparts in the Best Buys & PC Richards, it is better to come here for technology related issues ... as long as you have a rather large wallet, that is. Parking is a three car lot, but this place doesn't get too many customers because of it's non-central location - so no worries about getting there.
