Let's start from the beginning, shall we. The experience of applying online is super easy, you apply via their website fill out some general contact info and attach a resume. Once done you're prompted to a second page to schedule an in person interview with the branch of their choice or one close to you, then answer some questions about background. Done and done right. You then receive a confirmation email l, i got it seen the details and I wasn't okay with it. At first I was scheduled with the El Segundo, called the number provided got transferred to their after hours line I guess and got it to change it to the paramount one. Got my confirmation email, it was okay. I showed up, signed in, got a clipboard with some papers to sign, and was asked to wait. After like 30 mins of waiting, they tell me and the other people who were there to give them like another 30 mins so they can go into their meeting. Waited, after they're done they call us up with a recruiter. I got Fernando or Ferny P, it was a good conversation of questions and what i were looking for. Left the office, 2 weeks later I got a text from him about a job that opened up and they were having interviews that same day it was about 12pm I couldn't make it to the interview because I was out of town for my grandfathers funeral. He was like oh okay I guess they needed people to go in today I'll let you know when something else comes up, ok... week later I get another text with another job opportunity and I took it via the app and all, and I started the next day. Which was great for me, but then I get into a car crash and I mean of course it was unprofessional of me to not call but I mean when you're car is flipped around on MLK in Lynwood you don't really care about a phone right now you care about yourself and the people in the other car. So after the police report was done and my phone was found outside of the car and I'm already in the hospital. I texted the recruiter and let him know what happened. That when everything went down hill he was a DICK and not only that I felt like I was arguing with my girlfriend just because I didn't text or call him at the moment. So they terminated and honestly even if I could go back I wouldn't, so don't bother going the way their system goes it's just so unprofessional and it's a bunch of old people who act like they're still in high school. My recruiter Nayeli went on vacation so I got paid almost 2 weeks late! I told her I'd report this to the Labor Commissioner Office in Los Angeles for late wages. I said, "I complete all my job duties yet you can't uphold yours? " (almost had me out on the street) This must've set her off because she then laid me off. I call again to see if there's work & they said my application had been terminated; I no longer work for the agency. Now I have to file for unlawful termination. She also texted me 30 min before work and said not to show up. She said "don't worry I'll pay you show up time money " which I never got paid ! The craziest part is that she does this to everyone very unprofessional doesn't communicate, disregards employees, favoritism . She said there was no more work while people inside company were begging me to be back that there was work but she decided to keep sending the new worker and not me. Maybe because I told her she is unprofessional and should do her job so I can be paid on time because I have rent and bills to pay. When I told her this all she had to say is "sorry you feel that way " I will be pressing charges against her and this corporation for unpaid wages, unlawful termination & late paid wage. Their assessment tests can help you look very impressive. Unfortunately in my case, my scores don't mean much since they aren't applicable to the majority of their jobs: warehouse How it works is they call you in for an interview after you've applied to one of their jobs. You come in for an interview and a staff member gives you an orientation of how the company goes. You would then be met as an individual to do assessment tests. If you score well, they submit your resume to their client and it's up to you from there to secure the job in an interview with the client. If you have also worked a certain amount of hours with them, you earn access to many of their free online courses as a perk. Every once in a while you'll get texts and emails of non-warehouse work but it's often on short notice. These jobs are usually offered same day and begin a few hours after notice. You can also check their app daily. A lot of jobs are short contracts. I'm not a fit for most of their offerings but the experience was still good. If I could change anything about this company, it'd be a more diverse set of jobs, random job emails with a more reasonable amount of notice and for the office to open on the stated business hours. It was late to open when I first came here. If you can do hard labor, own some steel toed boots and do warehouse work, you'll do great here. read more

I was lost trying to enroll in the process. After wasting an hour of being there I walked out. Staff isn't that helpful. I applied to a lot of positions through select staffing to see if I could get anything, honestly. After talking to a recruiter and trying to apply online, the online system kicked me out. The application was then inactivated and when I called the customer support system they gave LITTLE TO NO HELP at all trying to find a resolution. They had said the answers in the questionnaire that I had given unqualified me and I had to wait SIX months to reapply. When I had told them that I was trying to go back to some questions that I had accidentally clicked the wrong answer for, they said that there were just things that I had answered in their questionnaire that resulted in me having my application go inactive halfway through me attempting to complete it. So I guess, this leads me to believe that this staffing agency has hired people who are of no help and refuse to help others as well as hires people who clearly want to commit fraud, beat up employees, come to work stoned, on drugs and high, as well as people who call out for fake reasons (Which I have answered to no and never to all of these but I guess that's not what they want in a temp). TL;DR Don't sign up for this agency. Waste of time. read more

Awful customer service and front office/reception demeanor. Applied online and then received a call about 7pm from an automated recording stating I needed to be at their office at 8am sharp the next day with several materials. This impersonal first point of contact already had me giving the company the "side-eye". Got up early and went. Was early and then others began lining up as well. When we were let in, the main girl wasnt the slightest bit friendly and didnt even look at us when we spoke to her. Gave us some final paperwork to sign from the site application and then called us each up with our paperwork and ID's...and then proceeded to dismiss several of us because our "resume was still under review"...then WHY CALL US IN?? It was all such a BS waste of time, I wouldnt work with them regardless. Seems like we were called in just to sign the papers as a quota meeting measure. Made an appointment for 9.00am with the main branch . They had me sit down and everyone left the office and had us wait with no consideration to tell us we will wait 30 minutes in the lobby while they were having a party. I've worked for select staffing before and got me very good jobs . But this branch is the 2nd time they just dont care about the people and getting them jobs. They are rude and disrespectful. All select personnel staffing is horrible. From Carson, Gardena, paramount all waste of time. They had my info since I was 18, I reapplied when I was 25 and they refused my updated work experience. Losers. At all places the people there act like there better than u yet never went to school anything so why the attitudes? They hate their job. I only knew of this place because I know several people from my hometown that worked through them. My neighbor started on a Friday for four hours and it took haggling and a month wait to get paid those four hours. They even accused him of walking off coz no one time carded him. The client didn't even want to acknowledge he was there let alone the three referrals he showed up with. He left and has a better job applying direct. Because they don't hold a good relationship with their clients, employees get the short end of the stick. Another girl I knew started great with a $14 an hour assurance position and two weeks later they lowered her rate because select is greedy like that. A total disappointment and waste of my time! As I walked in for my appointment, the gal who is at the reception was rudely speaking to the person on other the line. I stepped away trying not to listen to her and when she gets off the phone she breathing heavy. My thoughts were wow woman you lack customer service skills and allow it to be personal. After all of that, I go into orientation and the same gal walks in and asks, "who is applying for a clerical position?" I and another gal raise our hands. With an attitude she asked the other gal "do you have typing and excel skills and 2 yrs clerical experience?" The gal replied her typing skills weren't that great and didn't have knowledge of excel. I raised my hand and informed her that I have excel knowledge and good typing skills but have been a stay at home mom for a few years. She said that I must have 2 years of current experience. So I asked, so there's nothing for me here? Her reply...pretty much. Even the people in the orientation room looked astonished to see that even with the skills I posses I was not given the opportunity to prove myself. So they'd rather hire someone who has no skills or only offer warehouse employment especially is you participate in low-income programs, at least that's what the orientation video implied. How sad to realize what this company stands for. The employees expect us the applicants to be off our phones but they themselves take the time to be on their phones as I observed during my wait time. Policy should be for one and for all...just saying. Will have to take my customer skills elsewhere in hopes that someone gives me an opportunity. I applied at home and went to finish the process in the paramount office location filled out a couple of papers and Hilda interviewed me and helped finding something for me she offered a job but i had to go to the carson location for a drug test and the job info ...mmmm okay? So i went since i was in need of a job got there watched a bs video about safety more papers drug test and i got the adress to start monday ....Monday comes she lets me know to be there earlier than the start time because its a first come first serve position meaning they offered 20 other people the same job and it wasnt forsure id be hired ....wtf... So im driving half way there and i get a call from a lady in the select staffing in carson explaining to me that the client cancelled his request and to not show up til further notice....i called to see if they had anything else and nothing....then i got a call on Wednesday at around 10 am for a job they had in San Pedro and i had to be there asap because the person they originally hired was a no show....i tuned it down because i wasnt driving all the way to San Pedro for a 9.00 job that would only last a day .....and to them if you dont take the bs jobs they give you theyll stop helping you out which is rediculous for all the time they make you waste... If I could rate no star I would, my husband got real happy and started to work with them, he went to one of the facility and after 3 days all of a sudden they pulled all the workers, he was told he would be called for work again, it has been over 2 weeks, he has left his staffer numerous messages, and first she said we are working on it, this is ridiculous, he has not heard from them and when he finally got someone they told him she is going into a meeting, wow how many meetings do they have. We were referred to them for there quality of helping people find work apparently it is not true. I know my husband is not a young, but he is wiling to work and no one wants to give him a chance, he waits and applies and no one calls. I am very disappointed with this group.
