I didn't know what to expect when LA Recruitment called me, but decided to take a risk to see what they might have to offer. Errol and Charise were extremely helpful. They gave me information about a DMH paperwork workshop I could attend to boost my chances of being hired quickly and helped me modify & focus my resume specific to the work I was seeking. It only took about 2 weeks for me to land a job interview and a job offer! I cannot thank Errol and Charise enough for helping me find a job so quickly. Things to be aware: 1) since you are under the payroll of LA Recruitment, a portion of your earnings will be held. It's not the end of the world, but good to know before signing all the paperwork. If you're willing to wait it out a few months, the pay will be worth it once you are hired on, 2) you do not find out what company you will be interviewing for unless you commit. It was a little strange to me, but was glad my interview was with a great agency, and 3) the transition to being hired on wasn't as smooth as stated and was contingent on a performance review and additional interviews with management and HR (not sure if this is the case with every company). They really helped me by finding me a job fast without me having to do a lot of job hunting. I still have my job and I am happy there. Cons: They didn't tell me that they would be taking a chunk of my pay for the first three months until it was time to agree to the job. It wasn't terrible but I wish I would have known up front. They also tell you that you will be hired on with your company three months after you start but it depends on your performance and in my case it took about 4 months. Overall I was happy to be hired so fast and who knows... if I had done it on my own I would not have been making any money for longer and so it evens out with more experience and less work for me on the part of finding a job.
