I was a little hesitant about going through a recruiting agency, but I was in desperate need to find a job and was not getting any call backs from the agencies where I had applied. I didn't know what to expect when LA Recruitment called me, but decided to take a risk to see what they might have to offer. Errol and Charise were extremely helpful. They gave me information about a DMH paperwork workshop I could attend to boost my chances of being hired quickly and helped me modify & focus my resume specific to the work I was seeking. It only took about 2 weeks for me to land a job interview and a job offer! I cannot thank Errol and Charise enough for helping me find a job so quickly. Things to be aware: 1) since you are under the payroll of LA Recruitment, a portion of your earnings will be held. It's not the end of the world, but good to know before signing all the paperwork. If you're willing to wait it out a few months, the pay will be worth it once you are hired on, 2) you do not find out what company you will be interviewing for unless you commit. It was a little strange to me, but was glad my interview was with a great agency, and 3) the transition to being hired on wasn't as smooth as stated and was contingent on a performance review and additional interviews with management and HR (not sure if this is the case with every company). Pros: Charise and Erol found me a job within 2 weeks of graduating from my MSW program. I had a lot of other things going on in my life at that time and was being lazy about job hunting. They really helped me by finding me a job fast without me having to do a lot of job hunting. I still have my job and I am happy there. Cons: They didn't tell me that they would be taking a chunk of my pay for the first three months until it was time to agree to the job. It wasn't terrible but I wish I would have known up front. They also tell you that you will be hired on with your company three months after you start but it depends on your performance and in my case it took about 4 months. Overall I was happy to be hired so fast and who knows... if I had done it on my own I would not have been making any money for longer and so it evens out with more experience and less work for me on the part of finding a job. Some random man called me yesterday afternoon about why I would like to change my job. Well offcourse I wanted to exceed being an Admin to any company since every company is different. They may have the same resposibilities but it lets me grow knowing about every company I get in to. All this man cared about is how I live so far from Canoga Park and that I will leave the job within 2-3 months. What kind of phone screening or interview is this. First of all I have been working in LAX since December 2015 and you dont see me worrying about the drive. These people are scammers. They are rude resume collectors who want to exploit any and all new grads with promises (delusions) of grandeur. They had me come in touting a job a they could not disclose. They had me write my SS number on about 15 pages of documentation. I eventually had a face to face meeting with this RUDE owner (a grumpy old man) after 15 minutes of filling out forms. He was so rude to me, I eventually confronted him, ended the interview, snatched my paperwork off the desk (with all my confidential info) and left. I asked my friends whom just graduated about this place and the consensus was: avoid. Do yourself and figure out your new jobs on your own; these people have ulterior motives and severe issues with professionalism. RUDE!!! Wow! Charise is a very rude and does not want to help you. Trying to devalue my Master's degree and tell me I won't get a job without certain requirements that she did not even know. Job Agencies are generally not places people go for meaningful work. If you are a high school graduate, it may be the only place to procure some work. If you are a college graduate and beyond, it could be a foot in the door to network with others within the organization and extricate yourself from the job agency, in this case, LA Recruitment. Charise was the lady who contacted me initially. She was rude and would not email me the address to her location as she wanted me to stop my car while I was driving(i.e. I was on the cel phone while conversing with her) to jot down her address. As she put it and these are exact words, "I don't have time to email you, if you won't jot the address down now, you can call me later or I'll just get another applicant as there are many people out there like you". These were her exact words. I am an MBA graduate with a healthcare background. I would advise folks out there that if you do have to take a position, whether through LA Recruitment or other job agency, to keep looking for another job behind the scenes while you earn some money in your currently placed job. There are other larger job agencies such as ASAP Staffing and AppleOne that have a larger database of career openings and in different fields such as Engineering, Technical and the Sciences and Social Services field. If you are a college graduate, you deserve better and why should anyone be the middle man for the years and hard work that it took for you to get your college degree? And now they (meaning job agencies) want to benefit from taking a cut of your salary? Exploit them instead, network like crazy and wean yourself into another job. read more

This place is a total scam. I went there a fews months ago desperately looking for work. I have a graduate degree and was blown away by the promises I was given. It left me feeling hopeful. But that was too good to be true....you know the saying about if it's to good to be true? After meeting with Charise, she told me that I should do a seminar (which she coincidentally happened to have the flyer in her hand), and that the $40 it cost, I would be responsible for. I really didn't have the money, but let one of my bills go in order for this supposed opportunity. After I completed this certified course, I called Charise to let her know (just in case that was the hold up). Well, almost a month later and still nothing. I should have paid attention to all the comments posted on yelp, but I like to give people the opportunity to prove me wrong....so now I know. My advice.....stay away. I was satisfied with LA Recruitment. I recommend them. However, there was some confusion about the pay expectations, and this confusion was never allayed. For instance, I was told that I could expect to be paid nothing less than 65K. I was only paid 52K. I also expected to see an increase in pay after the first 500 hours, per their policy. I personally came to L.A. Recruitment as a newly graduate from USC, I applied on a Monday, got a call a week later with an interview on a Friday and started working on the following Monday. Cherise was very warm, real, honest with me about all possibilities! I can't think of my complex problem that I ran into. I wish I would have checked the Yelp reviews before providing them with my personal information. Definitely seems that their goal is to get as many resumes and personal information as possible to provide to prospective employers (who they probably charge for the potential candidates). I wouldn't be surprised if they provide employee's information to advertising firms as well. They did not secure me a single interview with any prospective employers during the time I agreed to work with them. When I questioned why I had not received any interviews from them, I spoke to Charise on the phone and she was rude and interrupted me several times. Can you spell S C A M M E R S? I went there after I made clear what I was looking for and would accept. Full time , permanent!!! How difficult is that to understand? They sent me on an interview reassuring me it was full time permanent. The kind interviewer stated it was part time and hopefully full time later. I liked the company and decided okay. But when I got home, I called LA recruitment and they acted clueless, blaming the interviewer for not knowing what he was doing. I wanted to believe them BUT, on the first day on the job, I heard I was a part time worker for 6 months temp only. I had to stop training there and explained the discrepancies I was hearing. They were confused as I was. I excused myself, call ERROL and he lied and was so rude, again blaming the company I went to work for. I told Errol he was unprofessional and misleading. HE stated, "if you don't believe me, oh well and if you don't like it, go home and i will fill the position before you get home." That was it. I was called by a man named Areo that contacted me for an Administrative position. Where he found my resume (unsure where exactly). I responded to his call that very same day and he was not available to speak to me. I left a message with Charise asking for Areo to call me back. I called the very next day and Charise advised that he does not come in until after 3:00 pm. I then left another message for a call back which NEVER happened. I called again today to speak with Aero, and Charise said to me if you are calling about the Admin position then it has been filled. I said why was I not not called to tell me it was filled? She said "we cannot call everyone". Well, if you reached out to me about the position in my opinion a courtesy call would have been appropriate since LA Recruitment contacted me. Then Charise tore into me like a raging maniac. She OVER TALKED ME telling me that I WAS RUDE quite the contrary! All I wanted to do was speak to Areo about other possible positions. Cherise further said that their company would not want to work with a person like me, when all wanted again to discuss other possibilities. I have NEVER IN all my years in the Corporate and Legal field arena EVER been spoken to in such manner. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I WOULD HAVE HIRED CHARISE TO REPRESENT ANY COMPANY! SHE IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL IN EVERY SINCE OF THE WORD. I FOUND HER TO BE UNCOUTH (AND CHARISE IF YOU ARE READING THIS THE WORD UNCOUTH MEANS ~ LACKING OF GOOD MANNERS, REFINEMENT OR GRACE ETC. Furthermore, Charise if you want further definition of what the word "uncouth" means grab the Webster's Dictionary that could further assist you!
