[Review #651] 2021 Yelp 100 Challenge (73/100) Going through my review drafts, I was finishing my final thoughts but didn't post for some reason ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so the review is older. I just started seeking employment opportunities that align with my current & former responsibilities, & came across an opening represented by Ultimate Staffing. After submitting my resume, I was quick to receive a voice-mail & e-mail by Noël, Enterprise Relationship Manager. In my tunnel vision, even as I replied to the e-mail, I thought I was connecting with Lyza, Business Solutions Manager, because I had responded to her job post. :-| So when we were on FaceTime that same day, there was some initial confusion. I quickly apologized for my error & "connected" with Noël. I liked that she was understanding so that we can quickly moved on to the purpose of our teleconference. Working in HR/recruitment, it is important to be personal & warm to quickly develop rapport with the prospect. As you can imagine, there are a lot of people, either unemployed or currently employed, looking for jobs... so the recruiter needs to be able to succinctly obtain as much info as possible in a short amount of time & to match those qualified/skilled candidates with her clients seeking prospects to fulfill their open position(s). During our short FaceTime connection, I felt that Noël "got me" yet the process didn't feel rushed. =) The following day she informed me that my resume is in the hands of the decision makers. Wow! Talk about "landing a whale" of a recruiter!! In addition, I went in the next day to record a video resume. Talk about a cutting edge company! Though I'm not exactly comfortable on camera, Noël thought I rolled with it & felt pretty natural like I was having a conversation. Whew! I felt taken care of by Noël because we were in constant communication via phone or on occasion e-mail with status updates throughout their interview process (I went through 3 rounds) & ones that I applied to on my own. We also discussed interview strategies & what prep I'm doing (like finding out the interviewer's background to find commonality to build rapport). After making it through the final round of the interviews & management was deciding between myself & the other candidate, an offer was made from a different company (I was at various stages of interviewing with 3 at the final, pending an offer). I'm skilled at what I do, though interviewing ("selling" or sharing my assets) has been quite challenging for me since I've been hired throughout my professional career without formal interviews, including where this latest offer. That 1-time "interview" was more like a conversation because of my work experience, one international corporation was their current client so I had familiarity with their processes, hence bypassing orientation training. I requested a few days to "think" about the offer before accepting to see if the others (including Ultimate Staffing's opening) will come through but Noël said management was still deciding. When the offer's deadline was due & still no word, I had to inform her that I needed to withdraw my application because I couldn't risk a sure thing (since there was no timeline on when/if they would give an offer) & miss the opportunity on hand. The other company's HR was aware that I was in the final stages; even though my one & only interview was finished after Ultimate Staffing's, they were the first to present an offer. If you're a job seeker, then look no further than Ultimate Staffing for job opportunities. The openings may be limited, pending on market conditions, but you won't find a more thorough & communicative recruiter than Noël Benjamin-Barrera & team. We were able to develop a quick rapport to match the best fit for me & the potential employer. You wouldn't want to waste your/their time on random interviews because you/they weren't a good match, right? Though it didn't work out in the end, Noël continued her professionalism & understanding of my decision, & offered her congratulations while extending her hand for the future in case I ever need to work with her again. I visited the physical office around/before 2pm on a Thursday (03/02) and no one was available to speak to me. I spoke to a receptionist, Tatiana, who is not directly affiliated with the company. She informed me there was one person in the office. I left my contact information and no one ever contacted me back. I submitted a few applications via ultimate staffing website as well as emailed my resume directly to three different staff members based on the job post and have not received a response form a single person nor job post. I'm very disappointed with their services!! I came in for an interview and I was told I had potential for a good job based on my work history. I went through the whole job interview with Lyza Rodriguez. She told me she was going to send me an Excel and Data Entry test via email and never received it even after emailing her.
