She always asked thoughtful questions, gave realistic homework to work on between sessions, and genuinely inspired me to want to change and move forward. One thing to note is that Nicole isn't the type of therapist who just sits and listens. She offers her opinions and advice, which I haven't seen many therapists do. Sometimes those are hard truths, but nearly every time she turned out to be right. Her approach, which is grounded in research and data, properly framed our discussions and helped me face issues with confidence. If you're ready to put in the hard work, I highly recommend seeing Nicole. You won't be disappointed!

From my very first conversation with Dr. Nicole, she made me feel comfortable. She took the time to tell me about herself, asked thoughtful questions about my daughters, and really wanted to understand their personalities and needs. What I appreciated most was how personal and collaborative the process felt. She took the time to get to know both me and my girls, and we worked together throughout their journey. I could share things going on in their lives that might help guide conversations during sessions, and she was always supportive and understanding. She was also incredibly flexible and helpful with our constantly changing schedules. Most importantly, both of my daughters genuinely enjoy their sessions with her and feel connected and comfortable talking with her. I'm so grateful that she has been a safe and open door for them as they've grown up -- especially through big milestones like one of them graduating. I've truly been able to see positive emotional growth and maturity in both of them. As an added bonus, she was able to work with our Kaiser insurance, which made the process even easier for our family. I highly recommend Dr. Nicole to any parent looking for someone caring, personable, and genuinely invested in helping kids thrive.

I've spent more than a decade as her client and she is one of the main reasons I have been able to survive my 20s and thrive in my 30s. When I reached out to her, I was struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety, hypervigilance, reactivity, aggression, and codependency with deeply unmet childhood needs and Linda truly was my saving grace. Through the corrective emotional experience of our therapeutic relationship, my nervous system healed, my trauma was metabolized, my beliefs transformed, and my reactivity turned into responsiveness. She showed me how to accept myself, to love myself, and catalyzed my journey to becoming a therapist. I am able to pay it forward because of the loving wisdom that Linda shared with me as my therapist, teacher, earth guide, and surrogate spirit mother. TL;DR: If Linda ain't your therapist, I feel bad for you son; I got 99 problems but Linda ain't one.

She's professional, experienced and in control of the situation, gently guiding and steering towards getting better, feeling better. May I suggest that when picking a therapist, shop around first. Really well. Talk to them and see if there is a connection. A few therapists are good. Many are mediocre. And some can do more harm then good. I've been to a fair amount of therapist over the years and some have helped me tremendously. One fell asleep during the session. And some were a one shot deal because I felt like we were talking different languages.

This is something that my husband and I are not disagreeing about. It was just one fact mentioned in a story. Ms Barrett interrupted the story and said that we have to stop holding her hand, because that's a problem. Three things: 1) my husband and I didn't ask for parenting advice (nor is Ms Barrett a parenting expert), 2) my husband and I aren't disagreeing about holding our daughter's hand at bedtime, and 3) we didn't need to be interrupted while talking. Ms Barrett interrupted a lot, and I didn't feel that the interruptions were for good reason. One time I wanted to talk about something slightly off topic. She interrupted me. I said I still wanted to discuss it. Afterwards, she repeated that she didn't want me to go off topic, and she "saw that coming." She does have a lot of good information though. Maybe it was just a personality difference.
