I couldn't ask for more on that front. Pricing is another story. Total to tile two tiny areas (small laundry and foyer) is $4K? And I am providing the tile? This seems really exorbitant. Sorry guys, I am sure your work is great, but going to have to shop around.

The designer's first available appointment was three weeks out. Okay, that's fine, I can wait. The day of her appointment--she canceled on me saying she was sick. She never sent anyone to reschedule or even told her company. I checked in after a week to reschedule. She said she was still out. Nothing else. No backup person. After the third week I called the company. They didn't even know about me, my appointment etc. They also said there's no one else to help me. They can forward me to the manager but I basically just need to wait for Sena to come back. Terrible customer service. Unreliable. I chose to take my business elsewhere. If a company is 100% reliant on one designer --and doesn't have a backup to help customers -- I can't imagine if I did do business with them and something happened that needed mediation. Who do you go to? Who is the next person to step in? Basically you just wait...I support smaller businesses. If they called me to explain and kept in communication it would have been better. But when i called they didn't even know about my appointment.

We have hired SR to do many things in our house - flooring, bathroom remodeling, garage dry wall…read morerepairs, etc . Their initial quote is always competitive, however, as the work makes progress, you will find many things that were not included in the original estimate. Therefore, if you're not knowledgeable enough, your final quote might end up being much higher than the initial estimate. For example: we paid almost 10K+ to remodel one room and they left one wall unfinished because they said it was not included (we thought it was). So make sure you have all the nitty gritty details written down in your estimate to avoid confusion later. Also, their work hasn't stood the test of time. We noticed many things have started to fall apart not too long after the work was completed - example : our LVP is peeling off in low traffic areas, leakage under the shower door and under sink, multiple door hinges have already broken, the floor has uneven spots despite paying extra to flatten it, etc. The work looks nice in the beginning but after a while you'll start noticing where they made compromises to make it "affordable". In terms of communication, they are pretty responsive. We haven't had major issues with Alexa, Sam, Camilo, Dan other than occasional misalignment between everyone.

In an attempt to have my house perfect for my parents visit last year we had Will out for a VERY loooong-list of jobs ( power washing/ sealing/ deck and fence repair, toilette repair etc etc etc) I noticed after he left he was kind enough to throw in a pressure wash of our front walkway so that it looked nice and new for my parents visit! Then, earlier this week, we had a horrible plumbing fiasco at our home. Without going into graphic detail, let's just say it was a really crappy situation that required IMMEDIATE attention. Will at House Call Contracting was able to rearrange his schedule to be at our house within two hours, and he coordinated and oversaw the effort to fix the problem over the following three days. In addition to being able to fix anything, Will is responsible, courteous and shows up ON TIME!!! I really can't imagine ever using another plumber/contractor.

Third, he cleans up well and clearly shows pride in his work! Last, he's friendly and personable! Too often I've dealt with guys that don't care and are borderline rude. Not Will, he's the best! I feel like I was fooled by this company, at all levels…read more The first time they came out to look at my basement flooding issues, I was super impressed. The tech explained how the old external drains were clogged in my old 1950s home and that nowadays companies are building internal systems to catch the water. Like an internal french drain, under the basement flooring. It looked like a promising system, and the deal they made ($7700) seemed worth it. They installed a "speed drain" to catch the water in the outside basement stairwell, replacing the simple circular drain that was there. This new drain funneled the water into the internal french drain, which also grabbed water from exterior holes that they drilled (controlled water collection). The drain led to a two sump / two pump system in series with two 2" pipes going out of the house. Solid. Except... The first time the basement flooded, I took a closer look at what was done. How could there by any flooding?! I have two sumps! As it turned out, the second sump in the line never got water to it. The speed drain only had a 1" pipe going into the system. I'm not a physicist, but I know enough math to realize that 1" going into the system is going to overwhelm a system designed to pump out of two 2" pipes. I called the company and had them fix it. At a cost, of course. They argued that it wasn't a bad design. The best part is when the actual installers came out and started telling me that the system I had was horribly done (seems like a trend). I let him talk a while before I told him that his company had done the job. He smirked and was quiet after that. He redid the speed drain and installed two 1" pipes. The math still didn't add up, but ok, there were other entrances for water into the system. The second time the basement flooded, I watched the water in the speed drain keep rising, and rising, and rising. How could that be?! There were two 1" pipes now! As it turns out, the system was poorly designed, specifically the sumps being in series. I was having problems because the first sump pump died. Naturally the water flows to the next one, right? No, it doesn't. The design forced the water intake to have to push all the water in the first sump into the second. Imagine rainwater coming in at a pipe in the bottom of a sump, and having to push all the water above it into a pipe at the top of the sump. It just wasn't working very well. The water, not having enough force to push itself up, went back into the stairwell, then under the door into my house. I'm left scratching my head wondering if Basement Detective even knows how water works, and if they've ever actually designed a successful system. Needless to say, I won't be calling them to come take a look again. Lest they rip up the all floors again, tell me that my system was a horrible design, and charge me to redo it again. No thanks.

We converted two rooms plus a hallway into a master suite as well as split two large upstairs rooms into three. We had structural concerns and lots of logistics to work out and I wouldn't trust anyone other than Mike to draw up the plans to make sure everything is safe and up to code. Al oversaw the projects and was in constant communication with us and regularly was on site to make sure everything was going smoothly. If anything wasn't 100% correct or what we had discussed, he would make sure it was remedied. Big shout out to Franz who even showed up to work the day after his wife had a baby! The M3 team worked late days and on weekends (with our consent) to meet their deadlines, even when the county held them up with permitting issues they still worked hard to finish within our timeframe. We even made major changes to our plans after construction had begun and they were able to pivot and help us get more square footage for the upstairs bedrooms. There were also numerous curveballs that they handled with ease (ya never know what you'll get with an old house). This was our first time doing any sort of large project and the team at M3 gave us plenty of guidance and support to make sure the finished product exceeded our expectations. If you want something done right the first time, then I highly recommend contacting M3!! If we stay in this house then you guys won't be done with us yet! -Cristen, Phil and now +2 (!)

GE Construction made my vision for my kitchen and dining renovation come to life! This was not an…read moreuncomplicated renovation. The wall between the kitchen and dining contained duct work for both the dining room and upstairs, plumbing was done to the code of 1960 when the house was built, and previous owners/flippers did things in slapdash ways that made the process harder than it needed to be. But at the end of the day, what I sketched out came to life, and beautifully! Andrii and his team worked with all the things I really wanted out of my kitchen (including using existing appliances, so they had to move them around the space a lot while working, and some fancy stuff that is non-standard including that crazy butterfly sink that you see in some of the afters!), worked to bring things current (like moving plumbing off exterior walls, so I no longer have to worry about pipes freezing), and got it done. A total transformation! The price was middling among quotes, and I felt it was a great value since I got quality work and didn't have to do much (like ordering stuff...Andrii always had someone who could get things at a normal/retail price without me doing it). Job completed around our "contingency" finish date, which was only one week more than the "we hope to finish by" date, which is really good for a project of this scope. I am very satisfied, and if I didn't drive them crazy, will be using them for my bathrooms in a few years!
