Before I go into…read moreparticulars about what happened, I want to make it very clear that I emailed the owner over two weeks ago to let her know what happened, but never received a response back. My husband and I ordered breakfast from Borderland Brewing a few Saturday mornings ago which is a couple businesses down from Wax Werks. We were about to eat on the patio, but then got a nasty, overwhelming smell of Marijuana coming from near the patio. It almost made me sick, so we decided to take our food and leave. When getting in our car, we saw a woman standing in the small alley way between both buildings smoking pot. The smell was god awful. As we were pulling out, we noticed she walked into the Wax Werks building and both of us were pretty sure she was an employee, or if not, the owner herself. I personally think this sets a very bad example for a business, and I think this person had a lot of nerve doing this so freely in public, out in front of the business. Not only can this put a company at risk if this employee gets hurt on the job while under the influence, but I think it can be very dangerous for customers getting waxxing done with this person being under the influence. I just wanted to pass my feedback along since the owner chose to never respond back to me. Enter at your own risk!

The studio is now officially a team of two, lead by founder Marissa Duarte and her sister in law Vanessa. The services no longer include nails services. Their focus is entirely on skincare. Vanessa does offer waxing and lash lift/tinting services though! So, if you are looking for a place that is entirely dedicated to facials of various kinds with a holistic approach, this is it! And it's LOVELY. The studio is cozy and super well appointed. I was super relaxed the entire time. I went in for a facial that included gua sha with Vanessa. Vanessa is incredibly sweet and fun to talk to before and after your session. She keeps the session chat free so that you can indulge in all the relaxation possible and I loved it! Another nice aspect to their business is that it is a gratuity free zone, meaning that the pricing on their website is what you pay for and that's it. Unfortunately, the technician didn't take proper measurements, and as a result, she left one eyebrow thinner than the other and both much thinner than I requested. My eyebrows are now uneven and completely ruined. This was very disappointing, especially because I was clear about wanting to keep them thick and natural-looking. I wouldn't recommend this place for brow services. Please improve their technique and attention to client preferences. TRAUMATIZED
