We have been loyal Seis customers since this location opened. We loved it in its original format was disappointed to hear it was moving to full service but we decided to try it anyways. The food, as always, was good with generous portions and we love the kids meals. However, if you are moving to full service then you need to be equipped to do full service. Initial service was fine but towards the end, it all fell apart. They failed to clear all of our tables for dessert but seemed very concerned about our bill with 2 people working on our bill but nobody clearing our tables so we had to share our desserts over piles of dirty plates. Also we had to stand up and ask for containers and bags twice and we were not the only patrons we noticed that had to stand up go to the counter to get what they needed. I've always liked this Seis kitchen. However, tonight our visit was not that great. Just a little food for thought. Do not leave customers waiting to be seated for a solid five minutes. We both ordered the same thing. Breaded fish tacos with beans & French fries. It seemed a bit of a long wait compared to other tables. They brought shrimp tacos. I am sensitive to shellfish so that wasn't great. They did offer to fix the orders. They brought out (quickly) grilled (not breaded) fish tacos. Might be a minute before we return. read more

I've been going to the Oro Valley Seis Kitchen for years, it's definitely time for a review! I love that they now have the option to have full service at some tables. In the past you could only order at the front. I've always enjoyed how expansive this location is, lots of seating options which make it a great place to bring kids. There are beautiful views of the mountains from the outside patio too. In the spring, I attended a catered baby shower on the outside patio. It was well organized and I really enjoyed the pitchers of agua frescas! The complimentary chips and salsa make for a nice appetizer. The margarita flights are very fun and can definitely be shared! I always find the food to be good but I'm never "wowed" and for that reason I'm going with 4.5 stars. read more

Stop by Seis Kitchen which serves Mexican food where you order at the window, which I had El Jefe burrito, it was so good. The chorizo wasn't overweight seasoned at all, just perfectly flavored. They weren't stinging with the guacamole either, which I really appreciate because I love me some guacamole. I also tried the super hot salsa it definitely brought the heat while still tasting really good. Overall everything was good, weather was perfect to sit outside and enjoy some good food. For many years, I've been a happy customer at Seis Kitchen, going to the River Rd location and in the downtown location Mercado San Augustin locations. This Oro Valley location is closest to my mom so I've been going every 2 to 3 months since it opened. I love the interior. It's my favorite spot of all the crown of Seis Kitchen locations, including their newest one off of Tanque Verde Road. This particular location has an extensive bar menu in addition to the regular items that are served at the other locations. The Steph are really friendly and I like how they've changed the ordering system where you're an assigned a seat rather than looking for one. They have really good chips and salsa that come after you order. One of my favorite dishes is their nachos which my mom and I got today. The parking situation in the Oro Valley location is really very easy compared to all the other locations. If you're in the Oro Valley area there's a huge selection of tacos, salads, drinks, and they offer a kids menu too. I just have a positive food experience every single time. The only sort of negative thing about this location is it's a bit tricky to find. It's not easy to see off the road, but it's in the same parking lot as Dutch Brothers. Google maps doesn't quite give you correct directions, so I recommend if you don't know where it is to Google the Dutch Brothers on Oracle Road. read more

Not sure why this location would get only 3.6 stars but we had a great experience here. I searched a bunch of good Mexican restaurants before coming to Tucson and Seis Kitchen caught our attention. We happened to stay in Oro Valley so decided to give this location a try. There was a long line and we waited for a good 10 mins before the staff can even take our order at the counter. The bottleneck appeared to be she needs to fill the drinks from the bar for whoever is ordering a drink, which slows the entire process. However, despite this small hiccup, the rest of the experience was AWESOME. We were first served with a basket of hot tortilla chips with two dipping sauce. Our order is 3 tacos (Al pastor, fried fish and grilled shrimp), and a surf and turf burrito. Everything is perfect and I do especially like the fried fish tacos as it is more flavorful and the crispiness complements the shredded cabbage and onions very well. All tacos come up with a choice of side dish and we picked grilled squash. Another great choice. We also ordered churros for dessert and they come up with both caramel and chocolate sauces. We recently dined at Seis and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. The service was absolutely terrible. Our waitress was rude, rolled her eyes, and after we received our food, she never checked on us, forcing us to track her down for assistance. The food was mediocre at best and my husband's meal wasn't corrected until after I had finished mine. Overall, the combination of unprofessional service and lackluster food does not warrant a return visit. Drive the extra 10 minutes down the road and go to Amelia's Mexican Kitchen instead, you won't be disappointed there. read more

First time at this location and I think it may be the best out of all 3. The ambiance is great and there's a nice view of the mountains from the patio. The wait for the food was a little long but we weren't in a rush. The table beside us were waiting even longer and asked one of the employees how much longer it would be. I went to the Oro valley location off of Oracle rd. It's not easy to see it's off the road a bit in a nice shopping are. It was recommended to me by local hotel staff. It's supposed to a little more like a bistro There bathrooms were clean and they also have a nice seating area indoors and outdoor patio area.The service was fast and efficient. It's also about expectations, everyone is under staffed, so I always appreciate the service staff who are working. The parking is easy and plentiful. I'm sure the place can be very busy and parking might be a hassle. That just means it's good. I went twice for a late lunch and a Breakfast and it wasn't that crowded but I'm sure during regular times it would be. I enjoyed their Poc chuc.grilled chicken tacos and the manager/owner and I "talked story " and he made me an original style Margarita on the rocks with great tequila and an orange brandy. When I made the request, the manager (brunette woman with glasses) was very short with me and stated that I would need to be charged extra because I asked for no ice. We are huge seis fans and normally LOVE seis but the last couple times we've been to this location it's been disappointing. When we showed up today, we realized they changed to a full service restaurant instead of order at the counter, which we were okay with but the service was initially very slow. We ordered cochatas, iced coffee and horchata, today and the coffee tasted watered down. I had the poc chuc and al pastor tacos which also left something to be desired. The esquites and chips and salsa were the best part of the meal. We were disappointed with the quality of food this time around compared to what we've had in the past, especially for the price, but once we did get service, the servers were very nice and accommodating. Definitely feel like the San Agustin location is the way to go after this experience and hoping next time will be better because we love seis! read more

My wife and I wanted some tacos for dinner, so we decided to try Seis on N Oracle. I'd been to the E River location before for a burrito and margarita that were both pretty good, so we decided to give this location a chance. We made a mistake. My wife ordered the birria tacos, and I ordered the Al pastor tacos. The birria tacos my wife got weren't even what I'd call birria. They were really just shredded beef tacos with no noticeable birria sauce and no sauce on the side for dipping, plus the beef was too dry - and who puts guacamole inside a birria taco? No! My pastor tacos weren't much better. More pineapple than meat, and the meat wasn't as tender as I'd hoped. Plus, the tortillas used for both weren't very good quality and started falling apart easily. We also each got a Seis margarita, but they were pretty small, and we couldn't even taste any tequila. Our whole experience was underwhelming and disappointing. I doubt we'll ever be back. read more

Very unsatisfied! It was are first time in we are new to Oro Valley. The ambiance was nice. But we were waiting for over 10 minutes to be seated, so much time had passed that a couple seated at the bar had noticed us and was also looking for the server. First sign that things were not going to be good. Then the hostess/waitress comes out in what looked like she had just got pulled out of the gym with some yoga pants and a muscle shirt. We were seated and left to wait some more don't know why the wait to be seated and the wait for are drinks took so long when there was only two other tables in the restaurant in use. Guy came out with chips and salsa very nice. And waited some more time for the drink order. The waitress finally came back to take the drink order and we told her that we were ready to place or order and she ignored us and just walked away without saying anything. Few moments later she comes back to take are order doesn't tell as about any specials or ask us if we had been there before nothing just the order, we later found out about specials by over herring the waiter talking to t h e tables behind us. She didn't ask how was are food or for drink refills nothing just came back to give us the check. We ended up getting asked if we wanted to go boxes from the guy that brought us the chips. Passing by Arizona briefly and came across this restaurant for lunch and was not disappointed. The service was phenomenal. Their staff is super friendly and welcoming. Answered all of my questions perfectly and gave wonderful recommendations. The food came out surprisingly fast considering that they were getting busier for a Saturday afternoon. My burrito was phenomenal and HUGE. The shrimp tacos were also very tasty. The Jamaica was super refreshing but the Horchata was AMAZING. I recommend this restaurant for someone looking for a yummy quick lunch in Tucson. I really love the atmosphere of this Seis location - it's light and airy, newer and has a great patio. We ordered tacos, chips and salsa and a salad and all were very good. The salad was huge, more than enough for 2 meals in my opinion, as were the chips and salsa. The salsas in particular were flavorful and fresh, we really enjoyed them! The variety of tacos was also fun, lots of choices and all were delicious. I took a star off for the service, nothing majorly bad, everything just took a long time and we had to request a few missing items, got the wrong dressing for the salad which took a while to get after asking, etc. if this aspect was faster/more accurate, it'd definitely be 5 stars.
