I also asked about HPV vaccine and I told them if my insurance covers it in full I want to get that shot. After they checked they said yes it covers it. Well a week later Dr. Joel's office left me a message saying "it's a courtesy call for extra $10 charge" After they charged it already. After they charged it then they gave me a call! ok $10 that's not much then I got a bill in my mail from Enzo Labs (the lab Dr.Joel works with) for total of $790. My $40 check up turned into $840. Now I know why he chose to have no reviews on zocdoc.

Awful. Just awful from beginning to end…read more Can you refer to a doctor as a thief and a fraud and not feel bad about it? You certainly can once you've gone to this guy's office. His office claims to accept United Health Care, my insurance carrier. In fact, before I went to see him I called his office to confirm that my visit would cost me nothing more than the co-pay. One of his secretaries, Adrianna, told me she would contact UHC to confirm that. She called me back five mins later and confirmed, as I though, that it would only cost me $20 - my co-pay. I went to the office that afternoon and was seen by Dr. Goldberg in his miserable, tiny flea-bag of an office (there are 2 rooms, and the toilet in the bathroom makes you feel like you're in Lower East Side tenement). He spent most of the visit railing against Obama and his attempts at reform, which is always pleasant- bring politics into a medical appointment! Now.....whether or not you are in favor of Obama's stuff doesn't matter- I don't want to talk politics, especially with regard to finances, with my doctor. Ugh. Then, to top it off, I go to pay my co-pay and a different receptionist tells me that I owe $125, payable NOW. 'It should be much more....', Dr. Lame-A** says when I tell him of my earlier conversation as to the co-pay covering things, "...but I'm not charging you for the throat culture." I politely argued with them, telling them of the conversation earlier and that I was sure my policy covered a standard office visit, but they were insistent. If I didn't have a 101 degree fever at the time, I think I would have told them to just bill me. But instead, I caved and gave them my credit card. Got home, called UHC, and was told that it should have been my co-pay only. Called Dr. S**t-face and was told that, in truth, when they bill UHC they don't get reimbursed in full, and that it takes 2 months for them to get their money. So that's why the $125 was payable in full instead. These guys are lame, fraudulent crooks who have a decrepit office and claim to accept insurance that they then don't recognize. They will over-charge you and then change their story as to why, and you'll end up screwed. Stay away from these crooks.

He doesn't really offer any insight into your symptoms and on top of that, they continually try to book multiple appointments for you. I am sure this is because they want you to pay multiple co-pays. For example, on a general physical they made me make 3 appointments: one for the physical, one to draw blood (which shouldn't require a co pay in my opinion since all he is doing is sticking me with the needle), and one to go over your blood results. You may want to look elsewhere before you start booking appointments here. He may know what he is doing, but he tries to nickle and dime you and talk your ear off every visit. He definitely isn't worth that kind of time.

He sent me home with exercises and a regimen, and I've been doing well since. Go to him...he will meet your expectations and then some!

So I guess 'concierge' means insurance isn't enough, either you pay up to get the service you had come to expect for 20 years or you are shit out of luck. What a scam. What the service gives you is an opportunity to see Dr. Kadet when you want. Opting out of the service will get you one annual check up with Dr. Kadet, and all follow ups or appointment with a nurse practitioner. I don't write Yelp reviews but this one is worth the warning.

The doctors at MHMG come to get you and do everything themselves, which cuts out all of the waiting that happens at other offices, and allows you to have good one-on-one time with your doctor. Dr. Weinberg is extremely efficient and very thorough, and she's also very pleasant and personable. I'm the daughter of a nurse, so I really appreciate proactive health care. When my blood work indicated slight anemia, she went through a battery of tests to make sure it wasn't being caused by something serious, even though my family has a history of a lower baseline. All of the tests came back fine, but she referred me to a hematologist just to be completely sure that it's a hereditary quirk and nothing else. I should also note that every time I've had blood work, it's within a matter of a day or so that she calls me to discuss my results. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a female GP in the city.

I booked the first appointment of the day and arrived 10 minutes early to fill out paper work. Dr.Weinberg still called me in fifteen minutes late, annoying, but not a huge deal at this point. Her mannerism/bedside manner was brusque when I finally was brought to her office. While taking my history, she would cut-off my responses to her questions mid sentence and begin asking me the next question. I felt very rushed, which frustrated me since she was the one that was running behind (with no excuse since I was the first patient of the day). After taking my history (and basically forcing me into getting a Whooping Cough vaccine that I'm pretty sure I received when I was younger but she refused to believe), she brought me to the exam room and told me to put on the paper dress. Then I waited. And waited. Fifteen minutes later she came in flustered and (again) rushing, stabbed me with the whoop vaccine, and then proceeded to ask me more questions about my health. I'm active, eat a plant based diet, and cancer/major diseases don't run in my family, so this part usually goes by quick for me, but she really wanted to find something wrong... I guess I'll say she's thorough in this department. She finally settled on my eyes. Although my vision is 20/20 (just had my DL renewed and had to have an eye exam) she claimed my eyes will probably become a problem for me very soon because, quote "I'm getting up there in age". Um, I was born in the mid-80's, I'm no spring chicken, but really insulting! Anyways, she printed out a referral for an optometrist and sent me on my way. I won't elaborate much on how terrible and insensitive the phlebotomist was (big ouch) since she has little control over that, but the overall experience kind of sucked.
