I'm afraid I must agree with many of the other reviews here: Dr. Esposito is great, and I even think his front office staff is okay - but the standard 90 - 120 minute wait to see the doctor (that's standard, mind you), is simply unacceptable. I would suggest either a) scheduling fewer appointments, or b) calling patients 30 minutes before the doctor can actually see them. That would be just about the right amount of time for many of us to get over there. read more

I havent seen Dr. Esposito for a year or so but when I have seen him, he has been always great. You dont feel rushed when you see him and he actively listens to you with your physical problems. Plus he is extremely gentle. The office tends to be a waiting line of patients but you will just have to bring tons of reading material with you. And their referrals are great. I never had issues with the referrals that they provided. read more

I agree to extent with the last review, the front office staff for Dr Espo s***s! They are horrible, they call you the day before to remind you to be on time, when you get there you wait in a shoe box waiting room for hours (LITERALLY!) sweating your a$$ off. While I like Dr Espo, I wouldn't go back to him again, its just not worth it. Remember, a 3pm appointment means 4:45pm! Dr Esposito, if you are reading these.....schedule more time for appointments, get new office staff and remember to have them call us if you are going to be more than 15 minutes behind schedule! read more

Dr. Esposito himself is very nice. However, the office staff is terrible! And if you do get an appointment which you have to wait 3 months for they make you sit and wait in his office for an hour to two hours. I've been coming to dr. Esposito for about 10 years and have never not waited at least an hour. It's us so annoying. I really have to find someone else! I wouldn't recommend seeing him. read more

I have been a regular patient of Dr. Esposito for about the last ten years. I had a bad earache about year ago and called Dr. Esposito's office for an appointment. I didn't hear back from the office for 48 hours so I called and the receptionist, who's name was Corina, complained she was aware of my call but hadn't gotten back with me because she was busy. I told her I was in pain and if she couldn't get back with me soon, I would need to make other arrangements (to see another doctor). I think she somehow thought that got her off the hook for any future effort. I never heard from her and I wound up at the ear clinic downtown where I had to pay $178 out of pocket for health care. I would ordinarily give Dr. Esposito five stars, but since both Corina and the long waiting time get only one star, my overall rating here is two stars. read more

So when I decided to see "Dr. E" I saw the reviews on Yelp and decided he was a great dr to see. I was so wrong. Do not see Dr. Espocito if you care about time at ALL. The 3 times I've gone to see him I have waited on average 2-3 hours, this was 2-3 hours PAST my appt time. In addition, he is a quak Dr. His patients consist of old ladies who are quaks and a lot of medicare recipients--which is partly why there is always a line. He also tends to be gentle, and methodical, and takes about an hour with each patient. DO NOT let that fool you into thinking he's very detailed or caring. He seems that way, but he brush off what you have. I have been sick endlessly this semester and Ive been going to him and he's just been telling me I'm "just catching everything blowin in the wind" and I even noted my swollen node, to which he said he was "not concerned" . I decided to seek another opinion, which was a good thing b/c it was lymphoma. The waiting area is small and stuffy and I went just yesterday and had to sit for 3 hours in a broken chair, in a waiting office that had no water or tissues. And after 3 hours of waiting, I sat in his office while he typed on his laptop for 20 minutes. He finally examined me for threee minutes, said i had something viral and sent me away and told me to return to work--which i did stupidly. After my fevers, colored mucus, and general symptoms got worse, I decided to finally go see a different dr. I had postponed it so long b/c I couldnt find anyone who would do same day walk-in clinics. I did finally, I went to see a GREAT dr who had me waiting no more than 10 minutes and told me my symptoms showed i had a bacterial infection and i got a z-pac. Save yourself precious time, save your health, save your patience, do NOT go see him. instead go see this great dr who takes all insurances, has a nice office with water and tissue and a computer, and does NOT keep you waiting all day just so he can say "wheres my magic wand?" which was seriously an answer Dr. "E" gave to me when i asked him what could be done to improve my health http://www.medicalclinicny.com ---Great Dr, same day walk-ins, most insurances available. You can make an appt online, which is far better than calling dr. e, he has sometimes 3 receptionists working to answer the calls and make appts when he already has too many ppl coming in, he wont say no to anyone and if people come in looking worse off than you, forget it, it will take 2 more hours to be seen. Also I'd like to state that I just generally feel robbed by this Dr. Robbed of my time and money and health. He sort of represents exactly what is wrong with healthcare in america. I pay exorbitant amounts and wait hours just so he can make as much as possible while doing absolutely nothing to actually help me. I can also say that many other patients were outraged at the wait, and its a day to day situation, the receptionist even got upset at a man who at 1 PM finally asked why he hasn't been seen yet when his appointment was for 11 am. She said "well you really should've called me before you left your house and I could've told you he was running late. Thats what most patients do before they come" AGH. I'm still just so upset, no one should ever see him, unless you have no choice, and are new to the city like I was. But youre better off just doing some research and finding elsewhere read more

What can I say, everyone in my family loves Dr. E! His staff is outstanding, he tends to run late. The flip side is you never feel rushed in his office. Trust me my family is a handful of interesting cases and he's been wonderful every time. He has special hours on the weekend for those without insurance coverage. I started as a new patient with Dr. Esposito a few months ago. He seemed very interested in getting to know me as a patient, and has a terrific attitude toward patient care, public health, and wellness. I especially like his wellness website. A+ for having a positive ideology, and in attempting to follow it through! Unfortunately, the practice itself is effectively unacceptable. I waited more than 2.5 hours for my scheduled appointment, during which time I listened to his medical secretaries snack, gossip, and loudly commit one HIPAA violation after another. By the time I saw Dr. Esposito I knew the first and last names and detailed medical complaints of quite a few patients. Like one of the previous reviewers, by the time my appointment actually began I was ready to leave as soon as possible. I was hoping to change practices before I needed medical attention, but was not successful. When I called and e-mailed for an appointment, however, no one returned my calls. The secretary -- when I reached her -- said that she had gotten my messages and that no appointments were available. The fact that she did not get back to me seemed par for the course. I made an appointment instead with Dr. Afet Seidel, who works with the practice. I was hoping that the 2.5 hour wait time had been aberrant, but this time even though I was the only patient anywhere in the suite, I still waited 40 minutes. The medical technician who took my blood pressure and temperature had one of the worst bedside manners I have ever seen. She very clearly wanted nothing to do with sick people, and went about swabbing my sore throat from a distance of almost 2 feet, lunging forward with the q-tip, then jumping away again. She seemed surprised (and annoyed) when I wanted to know what my temp and b/p were. Dr. Seidel was more relaxed, but not confidence-inspiring. When my strep test turned up negative, she just kept repeating that "the flu involves a sore throat this year," undeterred by the fact that I have no particular symptoms of flu. I get what she was saying -- go home and rest, you'll feel better soon enough -- but found her manner to be troublingly cursory. Overall, everything about this practice except for Dr. Esposito's sincere devotion to public health was frankly disconcerting. read more

I was one of Dr. Esposito's first new patients when he opened his office at 86th Street. At first he had no waiting but as the word got out his patient list has grown and yes there is a long waiting time. However, it is worth it. I continue to go to him (it has been over 10 years) and will continue to go. Yes, the waiting room is small but I do not mind. He also has another office on West 81th street if you want a bigger waiting room. He is really good. Very thorough. To the person that claims to have been "misdiagnosed" by Dr. E....I can honestly tell you that is NOT Dr. E. In all of the years he has been taking care of me, NEVER have I had a problem with his diagnosis. I dont know who you are but if anyone knows Dr. E that is NOT his character. If you would like to say something about the waiting room or the waiting time that is fine but please do not make accusations that cannot be verified over the internet. That is nefarious. As far as the waiting time is concerned, one way to get around it is by either being one of the first few appointment of the day - as opposed to being the last or in the middle of the day. Also use common sense, if you know that his patient list is long, call ahead and ask how late he is running. If you have a 2pm appointment and he has not seen is 1pm then is fair to say that you will not be seen until at least 3pm. So let the receptionist know that you will arrive late due to the waiting time. read more
