We returned to Dr. Hale after my mother underwent a second back surgery that left her in severe…read morepain and struggling to walk. Because he had done her original fusion and had such a strong reputation, we trusted him to give us an honest assessment. I brought her most recent CT and MRI scans, along with lab results showing a GFR of 17--the morning of that second surgery--indicating she was not an appropriate surgical candidate at the time. I also presented the report showing that a Coflex device had been used directly above a prior fusion, something that multiple sources list as contraindicated. Dr. Hale spent only a few minutes with her, glanced at the scans, and said everything looked fine. He offered no comment on the labs or the contraindicated device and simply recommended outpatient therapy. After her condition rapidly declined, we sought a second opinion from a top spinal surgeon at HSS, who reviewed the same imaging and said she was in urgent need of surgical intervention at that time. Unfortunately, by then it was too late. My mother is now wheelchair-bound, on dialysis three times a week, and unlikely to survive more than six months. She will live out what time she has left in pain--and in torment--knowing that those she once trusted to protect her instead looked the other way. From where I sit, it seems doctors protect their own, even when a patient's life is on the line.

Most of the doctors that I visited prior only cared about the money and their coverage. so they force you to do random tests and charge you for something that you have no idea with. The staffs were very willing to assist you and the Dr Jeon and Dr Kim were open about the recommendations and any other suggestion. There are some doctors who only speak their 'doctor' language and you don't get a single thing they said to you after you come out of the office, but Dr Jeon spends time to actually explain what is wrong and waits for me to understand what my current condition is. Strong recommendation! They know the best.

Among all pediatric medical centers in the area, the one that to me excels in flexibility,…read moreavailability, and more importantly high quality care is Riverside Pediatrics Medical Group in Edgewater. If you are looking for amazing staff and doctors, look no more. This is it! Talking specifically about their doctors, Doctor Anca Tomsa is the most wonderful and caring pediatrician out there. She hasn't just taken care of my kid but has been incredibly supportive with me as a first time mom. She's always been there for us, always (ALWAYS) returned my messages, taken the time to really listen to me, and give thought to my concerns and addressed them one by one. To give you an example, recently I had to take my 22 month old daughter to the ER as doctor Tomsa suspected of something serious. She told me to keep her posted. We exchanged messages for 5hs while tests were being run and treatments discussed. She had our backs until we got admitted late that night and kept monitoring our case and chiming in to make sure my daughter would get the best possible care. This woman is an angel. Our angel.

I had an appointment on January 29 for what was presented as a simple nail clipping for fungal…read moretesting. There was no anesthesia, no nail removal, and no surgical biopsy performed. The provider simply clipped a portion of the nail and sent it to the lab. However, I was later billed under CPT code 11755 -- which is classified as a "nail unit biopsy" and categorized as surgery. This resulted in a significantly higher charge under my insurance plan. When I asked for clarification, I was told that nail clipping is considered surgery because a small portion of the nail is removed. This explanation does not align with what most patients would reasonably understand as a surgical procedure. Patients deserve transparent billing and accurate coding that reflects the actual procedure performed. I encourage anyone visiting this office to ask detailed questions about how procedures will be coded and billed before agreeing to testing. Very disappointed with how this was handled.
