Beyond Dr. Platt being a caring and wonderful doctor, the staff here is great and you cannot beat the convenient Broad Street location. I went in 2024 for my eye exam and new contacts and the process couldn't have been easier. Contacts came in quick and the team here did everything they could to keep costs down. I am also prone to styes and other eye conditions during times of stress. I recently moved and found myself with a very nasty double eye issue. I called and was able to be seen same day! Dr. Platt took me seriously, helped me with antibiotics and drops, and is committed to helping patients understand their eyes and ocular health. The gift of sight truly is a gift and I look forward to working with the team here to keep my eyes healthy for years to come. Thanks, Dr. Platt!

All of the docs are top-notch: incredibly knowledgeable & helpful. Second: their frame selection is fantastic. I get compliments almost *every day*, no matter which of my many pairs of glasses I happen to be wearing. I've lost track of how many friends & colleagues I've referred to ME over the years, and they've all been delighted too. Modern Eye are also great people. They've contributed to fundraising events and community organizations. I've seen staff help a crying student who needed a temple piece fixed, and a visiting faculty member right off a plane whose frames needed an adjustment, and someone who had lost a contact lens & couldn't see out of one eye. It's apparent how much Modern Eye truly **cares** about our community, and that keeps me coming back as much as all the cool frames and adaptive lenses they've helped me with over the years.

I would highly recommend Modern Eye for their kind and warm service and helpfulness, and efficiency in helping me with my glasses!

My vision now is simply amazing--I donated my glasses and tossed my lenses. Dr. Tabas is an outstanding diagnostician and a superb surgeon, and both procedures went off splendidly. I had to go out of pocket considerably to pay for two state-of-the-art lenses, but that's because insurance will rarely if ever pay for anything other than standard lenses which will give you near or distance vision but not both. It was worth it for such great vision, and the procedures themselves are basically painless! Don't hesitate to have this surgery because you're worried about pain or discomfort--it's a piece of cake! The only reason I did not give the practice a 5-star rating are the offices (there are two; one in Philadelaphia and one in Bala Cynwyd) and the staff. The staff are often not easy to work with, when you can actually speak to a human, and many times less than polite. There was also a billing issue after the surgery that I will give them plaudits for fixing. The surgical center in Bala Cynwyd is a different operation and they're no less difficult to reach or work with. And the surgical "prep" borders on the absurd; even though you are awake and aware, and are just given a mild sedative, Versed, that wears off very quickly, you have to get a doctor's signoff with a number of components and a signed EKG. It's just a CYA for the surgical center in my view. If you need eye surgery, I heartily recommend this practice and Dr. Tabas!

When I first called, the earliest appointment available that worked with my insurance was in July. I figured I was out of luck, but the staff were incredibly kind and actually called me back when an opening became available so they could squeeze me in before my trip. I was so grateful. The exam itself was very thorough. Unlike some places I've been where parts of the visit are done virtually, I saw an actual doctor who took the time to do a complete eye exam, including dilation and a full evaluation. It felt like real healthcare rather than being rushed through an appointment just to sell glasses. I also really appreciated how clean and professional everything was. They still have a lot of their infection-control practices in place, including hand sanitizing when you enter and cleaning frames after people try them on. As someone who notices those details, I loved seeing that level of care. My only challenge wasn't really their fault. I have a gigantic head so finding frames that both fit comfortably and look good on my face is always an adventure. I didn't have much luck finding the perfect pair this time, but that's a problem I run into pretty much everywhere. Overall, a great experience from start to finish. Friendly staff, thorough care, and a clinic that genuinely felt focused on patients first and eyewear sales second. I'd happily come back.
