When I lived downtown in Wilmington, Kilwins on Market Street was my go to spot for caramel and ice…read morecream, and I think it had been 15 years since I was in that shop. After a medical appointment in midtown Wilmington, I drove through The Point at Barclay because I've never been, and there was a Kilwins. I think my car automatically pulled into the parking space in front of the shop, so I considered it kismet. I wasn't in the shop more than a minute when a friendly clerk offered me samples. I indulged then ordered the peanut butter pie ice cream in a waffle bowl and sat outside. What a lovely outdoor space! And what MARVELOUSLY DELICIOUS ice cream! I went back in and did some shopping in the super clean and very well organized store. It was such a delightful Halloween experience that made me so happy. Despite my doctor's warnings, I will go back, perhaps not as often as I want to, but certainly everytime I am driving by and for each and every holiday because the festive, vintage like displays gave me the best Halloween vibes.

I tried one scoop of the blueberry waffle cone ice cream in a waffle bowl ($6.99), almond toffee…read morecrunch ($35.99/lb), and gummy bears ($6.99 for 6oz). Everything was very good but just so pricey. The blueberry waffle cone ice cream would've been better if there were bigger pieces of blueberries, otherwise, I loved the creamy, rich, sweet taste of the ice cream and the tiny pieces of chocolate covered waffle cone pieces in the ice cream. Eating the ice cream in a waffle bowl made it easy and clean to eat on the car ride. The waffle bowl was fresh and crunchy. I can say nothing negative about the almond toffee crunch. Just perfect. It's a slab of buttery almond toffee bar covered with milk chocolate on both sides and topped with chopped almonds. The gummy bears were better than I thought. Just as good as Black Forest gummy bears. Soft and good fruity flavor. Lots of other various sweets were in the store like tons of different chocolates, popcorn, taffy, ice cream cakes, and to-go quart sized ice cream. Staff member that helped me was sweet and friendly.

5 star plus! It was my partner's birthday and we were in town for an art show and were looking for…read moresomeplace special Circa 1992 did not disappoint! We shared a bottle of Whites Bay Sauvignon Blanc. We mentioned to the waitress that it could have been a touch colder (we like it icy) and after pouring us a small glass each she took it back to the blast chiller to cool it down more. It came back cooler and we put it on ice at the table. One of our favorite ways of eating sharing small plates. We started with a dozen oysters (6 from NC and 6 from SC). They were very good and the sauces that came with them were a nice compliment. Next was a nice arugula salad with some goat cheese. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Then came the "mains". We had Octopus with polenta. Not tough or chewy and the polenta was a nice compliment. Mussels in a nice white whine sauce were nice an garlicky and the bread that came with for sopping up the broth was perfect. Final "main" was beef tartare with a marrow bone. My partner does not like marrow so it was all mine and it was spectacular. Finished the night with a mini creme brulee that we shared. It was served in a little demi cup and it was just the right size bite. Our table was on the 2nd floor and it was a great atmosphere. Even though it was full, the room was not too loud that we couldn't have a nice conversation. Here is the best part. Our server, Nikki, was one of the best we have had at any restaurant. A little personality, just attentive enough and brought out our dishes just as we had asked them to come out. Couldn't ask for any better. Was our experience cheap? NO but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself go to Circa 1992!

Live piano and some good food after a day at the beach?…read more Count me in! Located right in the heart of historic downtown Wilmington, We had made a reservation here for my mom's birthday celebration (alongside some other celebrations). When we first got there, we were greeted and led to our seats. As soon as you walk in, you hear some live piano music playing which was lovely. It was like elevator music, very light and mellow but beautiful, not loud at all so you can have normal conversations and enjoy your meal. Our server Katie was wonderful. She was sweet and attentive. We got the Tuna Poke Bombs and Salmon Rillettes and some bread for the apps, all delicious. The main courses were steak frites and Boar's Head Gnocchi coupled with a bottle of Cabernet which was really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce but the steak was cooked to perfection and the salad and fries were good. As for the gnocchi, though it tasted good, there were a total of 5-6 gnocchi pieces in the dish. So not filling enoug We got a cheesecake and chocolate fudge cake to celebrate and the cheesecake was wonderful! The cake was dry but the cheesecake was moist. Overall, a good experience!
