Some of the equipment used when the shop opened in 1942 is still in use today. When I explained the mistake to the employee who prepared the drink, Jeff, he responded, "Well, you ordered an iced latte.I was surprised by the tone because I was certain of what I had ordered. I was then expected to stand back in line, the line is always very long and pay the difference $1.25 for the matcha, even though the mistake was not mine. Another employee eventually charged me the $1.25 difference, but the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and frustrated. That employee Jeff needs a class on customer service Mistakes happen, especially when a business is busy. However, the customer should not be made to feel responsible for correcting the restaurant's mistake, particularly over such a small amount. A simple "I'm sorry, we made a mistake--we'll take care of it" would have made a big difference. (Shout out to Starbucks !) The food is good, which is why I continue to come back. My concern is that if regular customers are made to feel unwelcome or argued with over an order error, the business could lose loyal customers. I hope management will take this feedback seriously and focus on improving the customer-service. I still like the food.
