She is a huge fan of dark chocolate, and it was a bummer that many of their dark chocolate ran out even though I went early in the morning on a Friday. The staff was nice and helpful. She even wrapped the chocolate box with a ribbon as a nice gift for my wife. My wife said she enjoyed the chocolates, especially the hazelnut. The filling was creamy and had a very rich hazelnut taste. The milk pistachio did not have enough flavor, though. I recommend this place for chocolate gifts!

Okay, long review…read more Let's start with the cons. They really nickel and dime you. The regular workshop package is half a pound of chocolate for $18. They weighed mine and my husband's together and it came out to 1.02 pounds total, and they charged us for the 0.02 pound overage. It was only about 32 cents, but it felt absolutely ridiculous and left a bad impression. Cleanliness was also an issue. There were no aprons, and people with long hair were not required to pull it back, including employees. I saw employees leaning over the running chocolate with large chunks of hair hanging down. We were not asked to wash our hands, only to put on gloves. I also noticed sample spoons left in some of the fillings and it was unclear whether they were just scoops or had already been used to taste. I saw one employee prepping caramel apples while holding one down at her side and it was rubbing against her jeans. There was also obvious cross contamination between different fillings and toppings, with things visibly mixed into others. Now for the middle stuff that is just good to know. We thought this was a class where you learn to make chocolate. That is not what this is. You watch a short video and then they bring you already melted chocolate. You pour it into molds and add toppings and fillings like chopped nuts, dried fruit, crushed candy bars, cookies, etc. You are not actually making chocolate. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just not what we were expecting, so it felt much more simplistic than we had hoped. It was still fun and the chocolate was good. Another thing to be aware of is allergens. There is no way to avoid them here. If you have serious allergies, especially nuts, dairy, or fruit, do not go. I was honestly shocked that there was no warning about this on the website or when I called to make our reservation. I would have been really upset if I had a nut allergy and showed up only to find out there was no safe way to participate. Now for the good, because we genuinely did have an enjoyable time with our group. I liked having a date option that was not just dinner and a movie. Usually if I want to do something different, I have to drive all the way to Provo, so it was nice to have something like this in Lehi. It also was not terribly expensive overall. Even with the nickel and diming, you would not be able to take an actual chocolate making class for $18. It was also easy enough that pretty much anyone could do it. Would I go again? Probably, but not often. Maybe one more time. It is not something I would never do again, but it is also not a must do.

Kimmie is as sweet as they come - she makes you feel like she's your long-lost aunt who welcomes you to her shop and can/will make any candy/chocolate concoction your heart desires, she really is "YOUR personal kandy maker". Upon entering her lovely shop, she has a table full of samples that she offers you to see what you like or gravitate to. I've had the privilege of tasting her salted caramels - they are to die for! A MUST have! My favorites so far: salted caramels, milk chocolate roasted almonds bark with buttery vanilla caramels, freeze-dried taffy (I had no idea till I tried hers that I liked freeze-dried taffy!). Recently, I requested her to make: Almond chocolate nougat and buttery vanilla caramel, and homemade marshmallows. It was so good! Her candy is homemade and you can see her commercial kitchen. She was so friendly and informative about her products. She will also do custom orders. The candy and sweets were all excellent! I heard about the grand opening on social media, and was excited to check out a fudge place so close to home. Contrary to the name, I did not find a ton of fudge. There was a little, but I had hoped to be able to buy a big chunk of milk chocolate fudge. Instead, I settled for some caramels that were pretty good. In addition to the candies in the case, there are shelves of other candies, some vintage. There is also a shelf of locally made goodies. It has a fun feel to it, but definitely still working out the details of recently opening. The reason I rated only 3 stars was for the service. When I think of mom and pop shops like this, I think of the owner or someone close to the owner running the shop, greeting customers and making people feel welcome. When I visited, there was a teenager working who clearly didn't have any stake in the success of the business. She was unfriendly, disinterested and didn't engage in any type of dialogue. I get it, I was 16 once and didn't care much about my job...but if I was the owner of this shop, I'd want to know and be sure to have people working there that represent my brand in a different way. I believe that excellent customer service is what will set this place a part from any other shop. I hope to see it change so that it is successful.
