Caramel apples

I got the chocolate and caramel apple called the Avalanche, and it was fantastic. I loved the caramel chocolate balance, and the tart green apple. This was a quality dessert.

Chocolate Sweet City. This spot has chocolate covered Twinkies. They make their own salt candy. A nice selection of fudges and you can taste everything. They have sugar free candy for those of us trying to watch the sugar intake. The have little chochkies as well. This is a place you'll enjoy.

Carmel apple

First and last time trying this place, staff was friendly the place looked awesome spent close to 50$. Got home to enjoy my caramel apple and it has mold.

So many delicious options! My favorite are their caramel apples. They make great neighbor, teacher & friends gifts.

The candy was ok, but definitely overpriced, and the store didn't look very clean. I wouldn't shop here ever again.

This place is a little pricey, but it's definitely a great addition to the beautiful Gardner Village shops.

I ended up just eating the outside and junking the apple. The girl at the counter was pretty surly too which also detracted from the visit.

Attention sugar lovers! Our new meet up place is in Herriman at the Salt City Sweet Shop. Whether…read moreyou are into candy, fudge, soda, caramel apples, cotton candy or ice cream-this place has it. The selection is rather impressive. Candy takes most of us back to our childhood, so it's appropriate that the theme here is "retro." Along with candy from yesteryear, there are cool vintage looking signs and knick knacks for collectors. There are also tons of glass bottles of soda-the kind that you probably grew up drinking, or wish you had. Leatherby's ice cream (arguably the best out there) is served here as well. Want chocolate? Yup, plenty of decadent chocolates as well as a mouth-watering assortment of caramel apples. Really, there's something for everyone. If you don't find something here that you like, I would really question your level of contentment in life. I docked a star for a couple things. First, the location is tricky to get to. There's no direct access from the road, you have to maneuver around the building and enter from the side opposite the main road. It appears that another entrance is planned, but a temporary concrete barrier prevents it from being used until it's fully developed. So that's a challenge-one that will be resolved as the area grows and fills in. The other challenge was the customer service. There were two young ladies working there and neither of them greeting us when we entered. (It's a small enough space, and we were the only customers. It just felt awkward to walk in and start browsing while she just watched us.) When we checked out, I attempted friendly small talk and it fell flat. She wasn't rude, just not the friendly personality I'd hope to find in a local, small business. Otherwise, it's a great place and I'm sure my sweet tooth will guide me back again!

I heard about the grand opening on social media, and was excited to check out a fudge place so close to home. Contrary to the name, I did not find a ton of fudge. There was a little, but I had hoped to be able to buy a big chunk of milk chocolate fudge. Instead, I settled for some caramels that were pretty good. In addition to the candies in the case, there are shelves of other candies, some vintage. There is also a shelf of locally made goodies. It has a fun feel to it, but definitely still working out the details of recently opening. The reason I rated only 3 stars was for the service. When I think of mom and pop shops like this, I think of the owner or someone close to the owner running the shop, greeting customers and making people feel welcome. When I visited, there was a teenager working who clearly didn't have any stake in the success of the business. She was unfriendly, disinterested and didn't engage in any type of dialogue. I get it, I was 16 once and didn't care much about my job...but if I was the owner of this shop, I'd want to know and be sure to have people working there that represent my brand in a different way. I believe that excellent customer service is what will set this place a part from any other shop. I hope to see it change so that it is successful.

Their burritos and fries are my go-to favorites. The burritos are just top-notch, but I have a soft spot for their fries -- it's kind of an inside joke for me. Whenever I go out to eat with people, they always say, "Well, I know what El is having," because I always get fries with my food. But theirs are surprisingly amazing. Fries are usually just "fine" or "good," but theirs? They're very good. The owner is incredibly kind, and their baked goods are fantastic -- especially the peanut butter brownie, which I can't recommend enough. Their soft serve is also really good, and I'm excited to try some of their candy next time. I even took a non-vegan friend there, and he really enjoyed the food. Beyond the food, the team is so nice, and they have a little vegan market with some really cool products. I bought about half a pound of vegan bacon from them, and now I'm making all kinds of breakfast sandwiches at home. If you're in the area, whether you're vegan or not, Sweet Hazel is a must-visit. And if you can't stop by in person, their partner company Break Free Candy ships their sweets, which is awesome. Seriously, if you order anything from the menu, make it the peanut butter brownie. It's life-changing -- and I say that as a huge brownie lover.

The new shop is take out only, although there is seating to wait for your order and some TV trays if you do want to eat there. The menu is almost the same, and all served all day. Tons of grab & go goodies too, from the famous breakfast burritos, to fun cakes, to the amazing Break Free vegan candy bars made in house. I was sad they had to move, but am so glad we still have this amazing vegan restaurant! Plenty of free parking.
