The worker inside offered to help me get my kids out of the store, which was nice. Our pies were so good! My toddler and I enjoyed chowing down on them together. One note--the store isn't very big, and there's nowhere to sit. However, there are some tables right outside and also some in the middle of the shopping center area, so as long as the weather's good, you should be golden. read more

The day we went was national pie day which I had no idea, and it was super busy but yet they moved the line quick. I had to try a few different things since I drove in to Utah from Vegas and this place was on my must stop list. I was surprised that I didn't pay more than what I was thinking I would though lol. This place has great employees and a great owner who are all very welcoming and helpful. That just makes things so much better as you have a positive view going into tasting their creations. Flake Pie Co. has a lot to like. The service is 2nd to none. Great people doing a great job with beautiful packaging and lots of options. However. The pies are not to my taste. My chocolate silk pie had a gooey instead of creamy texture. The crust was more solid than flakey, and the berry filling wasn't very memorable. I also had a lemon bar and it was FLAWLESS. Perfect sharp yet sweet lemon filling with a buttery shortbread base. So, should you give Flake Pie a try? ABSOLUTELY. They have a great thing here. I'm somewhat relieved I don't live in Salt Lake City, or I can't imagine how many pies I would be tempted to eat on a regular place with Flake in existence. We tried three pies, and four of the pasties, and everything was WONDERFUL. I truly don't think you can get a bad flavor combination here, and it was actually incredibly difficult to make a decision. My personal favorite was the S'mores Pasty, and while I ate it at room temp, I can't imagine how good it would be if you have the patience to warm it up. Super cute store that has been on my radar for awhile! Finally found time to stop in and grab a few treats. I love that these are mini pies, perfect size to sample a few and share. I also felt like the price point was a nice deal too! We tried "When Chocolate Met Caramel", "Nutcracker" and "Sweet Like Chocolate". When Chocolate Met Caramel was the best of the three by far. Flaky crust, awesome chocolate cream, caramel, it was sooo good! Sweet Like Chocolate had brownie filling with an Oreo crust, it was definitely chocolate overload but it was pretty solid. A good option if you have someone who isn't into traditional pies. The Nutcracker was a bit of a letdown, although the pecan and seasonings were on point for flavor, the filling was very runny so I wasn't a big fan. I like my pecan pies to be more gooey than runny. Overall though, I'm so glad we were able to try them out. I definitely want to return to try some of the fruit flavors and the flakies! Stop on by if you're into pie. read more

All made from scratch, and the portion size are very generous, that two people could share one, and still get your cravings satisfied. Seasonal Pie for summer is "Lemon on a Prayer" which is a lemon curd, with a meringue topping. Quite tangy. Think of a toaster strudel, but better, when you order a Flakie, Coco Caramel, Raspberry, S'mores, Strawberry and Brown Sugar Cinnamon are the flavors for Flakies. If pie crust is not your thing they also have crustless "Pots de Crème" which is more of a custard with the chocolate being more of a mousse. Which is my go to. It's not to often that you see Savory Pies in a pie shop but this place has them. Perfect for a quick breakfast or light lunch. Savory fillings are wrapped in their flakey crust and are a tad crunchy on the outside with lots of savory deliciousness on the inside. They even have a vegetarian option available. Optional "add on's" are Vanilla Ice Cream, 2% Milk, or Bottled Water. Such a cute little pie shop nestled in a strip mall in South Jordan, just East of Redwood Road. One drawback is they really don't have inside seating available. After all the rave reviews I heard from my foodie friends, I had to try this place. Located in a quaint shopping plaza in Salt Lake County. Luckily I got there before dinner/dessert time so the place wasn't too busy. Grabbed about half a dozen for dessert after dinner! I was warmly greeted by a super-duper friendly gal and I told her it was my duty to give them an honest review so I am doing my community a service that day (smiling). It's literally just a pie/bakery shop, storefront, with no seats available in the small lobby area. For my half dozen, I chose: raspberry, key lime, banana creme, chocolate caramel, peanut butter is my jam, and chocolate pot de creme. My favorite: banana cream! Had the right amount of bananas, not too overpowering, and the crust was great. I really do love these individual-sized pies, especially during the pandemic. You don't have to cut into a normal-sized pie to try different pies, you just get your own small individual-sized one. In my opinion, one personalized pie is enough to share for two people, but maybe others will disagree as others can probably finish this individual-sized pie on their own! The pot de creme was really delicious, as the creaminess of the chocolate was not super chocolatey, but more of a subtle chocolate flavor but you can definitely taste the creme in every bite, very obvious. It's a nice treat to get oneself (or others) and to be able to give them different tastes of every pie without breaking the bank! Kudos to Flake Pie Co for opening a née business during these crazy times. The store is bright, and the display cases are well lit and full of eye catching temptations. The staff is friendly and eager to help. If you plan to dig in right away they will even give your pie a warm up session and provide a fork for immediate consumption. There is no inside seating but there are outside tables around the plaza if you want to brave the cold or heat depending on the weather. The pies are amazing. I have finally found a decent Key Lime Pie in the area. This tart treat tasted just like what you get in Key West, Florida. the standard that I always compare against but rarely equal.
