Okay, long review. Let's start with the cons. They really nickel and dime you. The regular workshop package is half a pound of chocolate for $18. They weighed mine and my husband's together and it came out to 1.02 pounds total, and they charged us for the 0.02 pound overage. It was only about 32 cents, but it felt absolutely ridiculous and left a bad impression. Cleanliness was also an issue. There were no aprons, and people with long hair were not required to pull it back, including employees. I saw employees leaning over the running chocolate with large chunks of hair hanging down. We were not asked to wash our hands, only to put on gloves. I also noticed sample spoons left in some of the fillings and it was unclear whether they were just scoops or had already been used to taste. I saw one employee prepping caramel apples while holding one down at her side and it was rubbing against her jeans. There was also obvious cross contamination between different fillings and toppings, with things visibly mixed into others. Now for the middle stuff that is just good to know. We thought this was a class where you learn to make chocolate. That is not what this is. You watch a short video and then they bring you already melted chocolate. You pour it into molds and add toppings and fillings like chopped nuts, dried fruit, crushed candy bars, cookies, etc. You are not actually making chocolate. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just not what we were expecting, so it felt much more simplistic than we had hoped. It was still fun and the chocolate was good. Another thing to be aware of is allergens. There is no way to avoid them here. If you have serious allergies, especially nuts, dairy, or fruit, do not go. I was honestly shocked that there was no warning about this on the website or when I called to make our reservation. I would have been really upset if I had a nut allergy and showed up only to find out there was no safe way to participate. Now for the good, because we genuinely did have an enjoyable time with our group. I liked having a date option that was not just dinner and a movie. Usually if I want to do something different, I have to drive all the way to Provo, so it was nice to have something like this in Lehi. It also was not terribly expensive overall. Even with the nickel and diming, you would not be able to take an actual chocolate making class for $18. It was also easy enough that pretty much anyone could do it. Would I go again? Probably, but not often. Maybe one more time. It is not something I would never do again, but it is also not a must do. read more

Just add chocolate was a lot of fun. You can purchase candy there or make it yourself. We had a group make our own candy. They let you choose from chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate. And then you can add many different items, such as peanut butter, candies, nuts and fruit. Before you start, they explain how to do it and then we had an hour to make our own creations. You then take everything you made and they weigh it at the end and charge you by the weight. They give you a sense of how much items weigh before you start. read more

The instructions are very simple and the rest of the time you get to create to your hearts content. The workshop are is very clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Such a fun place. I've been here twice and enjoyed my experience both times. They have a set price but if you go over in weight, you have to pay the difference. So if you're planning on just spending the set amount, don't fill your chocolates with super heavy stuff. I love cashews so I always go over. Worth it. My team at work set up this event at Just Add Chocolate for a team building activity. We were all excited, and I've heard good things from people who have been in the past For days before we tried to call and confirm our appointment but no one answered. We decided to go anyway. We arrive to find the lights out and the door unlocked. There was no one there. We call the several numbers that we had and no one answered. We talked to several people from businesses around the place and they had no idea what was going on either Eventually, we were able to get a hold of the owner, who got a hold of one of the workers, and they showed up. However, it was too late and we had to reschedule our activity. The funny thing was that we could see we were on their schedule. Based on my experience, I would really hesitate to go back. Again, it looks like a fun activity, but if you can't have people show up, it doesn't matter. read more

This place is outstanding! I was on a corporate trip on a team building activity and thought making chocolate was a strange but cool thing to try out. About 10 of us went (the other team members went hiking,...pffft). When you enter you are greeted and shown a quick tutorial video on how things work and what toppings and molds are available. Then you put gloves on and get to work. We started with molds that looked like small reseese cups, you then choose what type of chocolate (white, milk, dark or a combo of all) fill up half the mold with your chocolate of choice then add toppings..and there are a LOT of toppings. Every nut you can imagine, crushed or whole, candy sprinkles of every kind, crushed cookies, pipette bags of nutella, peanut butter and one other...I cant remember. You can also choose to cover bacon and twinkies in chocolate...which of course I did (From Texas, go BIG or go home). They have these conveyor belt machines to the side that you place your bacon or dessert of choice (go with the twinkie, trust me) and the machine covers it in chocolate. This place was like a little Wonka factory. You have a assistants with you the whole time ready to help or provide input, which we definitely needed, we were lucky enough to have Lauren who was the absolute best! Once we finished our molds, Lauren would take them and put them in some freezer contraption and in a few minutes your chocolate is solid and ready to box. Not sure what kind of Han Solo carbonite freezer they had, but man it worked. Overall a great experience and one I wish I could have shared with my kids. Luckily the Utah airport lets you take certain foods through the check point so I got to take these home for the family to enjoy....minus the twinkie. read more

Stopped by here on a recommendation of a friend. It wa d a bit later on the day so some of their shelves were empty, but still a pretty good selection of items. I am a lover of salted caramels so I quickly decided on a Ryan Sea Salt. I thought the punny names of items was funny. I also chose a Jiffrey R Holland . Peanut butter cup. Yum. As well as a Quinten L Cookie Cup based on an employee recommendation. This shop also offers create your own Chocolates. What a fun date night or with friends/family. Service was ok, however while we tried to ask questions the girl at the counter was focused more on her phone and texting. Kinda rude when you have customers in front of you. Just add chocolate is a great place to go for a family night or date! Me and my fiancé went for Valentine's Day and had a blast!! They give you total creative freedom to make whatever you want. They also have so much variety of chocolate types, toppings, fillings, etc. In my opinion one thing that could make it a little bit better would be to clarify that the total price is the weight of everything not just the chocolate covering it. There are predicted amounts posted around the area saying the estimated chocolate quantity but I don't know how much the actual weight of the items (like strawberries or rice crispie treats) are factored into the prediction of weight/ cost on the signs. The other disappointing thing was that the samples weren't given to us that were advertised in the package we chose and the drinks were bottled water. Other than that, we had fun. The owner and staff are so fun and passionate about being there and made the whole experience so fun as well! read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I took my little sister here for a birthday date and I couldn't have picked a more fun activity! Imagine chocolate heaven, this is it! Here they have racks and racks of every topping you can think of, including fillings and my favorite.. cookie butter! They have dark chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate. You can put chocolate in molds, cups, or on top of pretzel rods, caramels, etc. I was surprised how easy it was to do everything. Easy to learn, fun, creative and a perfect activity for all ages! He said that he is opening a Provo location soon and I'm sure that place will be hopin' with all the dates that happen there. They provide everything you might need to make chocolate; plastic apron, gloves, hat, all the utensils and molds you can think of! You were able to make whatever kind of chocolate you wanted, you just needed to be aware of how much you were making and how big your chocolates were because you could easily go over your 1/2 lb. or 1 lb. amount. The staff was friendly the whole time and so helpful, they had at least 5 people helping during the class and that was nice! This place is a family favorite!! We've done the family night 4x and every time we love it even more! It really makes you appreciate the talent the actual candy makers have! (But I think I'm almost good enough that they could hire me) The staff has always been so good at helping us and making sure we had a great time! Their explanation at the beginning is so helpful and they are always around for question! Our girls were awesome tonight at making sure we had an excellent time! The facility feels clean and organized and they all wear masks. They also have you sanitize before coming back to your table. Fast forward a few hours later and we are all suited up in aprons, hats and gloves and let loose (after some instruction) in the chocolate factory. We had a great time making our favorites and tried a few new things. There was no lack of options of candies, nuts, cremes or other goodies. If you're a germaphobe, you may want to skip family night and opt for date night when the patrons are less likely to double dip or touch all the candy with their sticky fingers. I loved, loved, LOVED this place. It was so much fun and so easy. I was a little intimidated by the thought of candy making class, but the staff made it so fun and simple. The selection of chocolates, fillings, toppings, dipping options, candy molds, etc will blow your mind. I am obsessed with the machine that coats things in chocolate on a conveyor belt. My brother dipped a Twinkie and was in heaven. There were so many options to choose from I didn't even get to SEE them all! What I loved the most was how fairly priced it was. Yes it's more expensive than candy you can buy, but remember you're buying the experience too. I'm honestly not much of a candy eater, I planned to give away most of what I made, but the quality of the chocolate was so incredible I actually ate it all myself. Very fun facility and fair price!! The owner was very upbeat and lively in teaching us how to make our own chocolate creations. It was a little different than I expected because you don't actually learn to make chocolate, but you learn how to make chocolate creations. You can dip all sorts of things in chocolate, fill chocolate shells, fill molds, and make stuffed chocolates with every possible flavor and topping you can think of. It was really fun to try to be creative and the chocolate o brought home tastes awesome! So far the best combo is white chocolate filled with cookie butter. Talk about a good time! All three kinds of chocolate and everything you could dream of as filling. Our class was jam packed on a Thursday at 4 in the afternoon. The staff is pretty hands off. As a person with an oxygen tank it was supremely difficult to navigate to the toppings. Especially with way too young kids there. Maybe they could have classes with just children. That way you wouldn't have lean on your oxygen tank's handle while two tween girls "sword fight" with sucker sticks. The great news is: there's a SubZero right next door! The creamiest ice cream is there to embrace you when you're exhausted from trying to make chocolates! read more

Expectations: I had called in advance and scheduled a Date Night specialty workshop. Which is described "for you and your special someone to make a pound of chocolate, caramel apple, with free drinks, and samples". I was expecting a workshop, or to learn about chocolate while making truffles etc., and enjoying some samples. Let Down: They were out of caramel apples, there were no drinks or samples and there wasn't a workshop. There also wasn't a way to know the weight of the chocolate we were making so the price advertised is not set. When we mentioned the expectations advertised verses what was provided, the worker apologized and mentioned they often run out of apples and they don't offer samples or drinks. Experience: We watched a 2 minute video, were shown where toppings and molds were and we were provided with the chocolate to use in either molds or truffles. There was some music played in the background that was nice to listen to. The chocolates we made tasted good, but I would not go back or recommend this business. We went to this location a few months ago to do a class with our 6 year old. The facility is nice and the chocolate was good... however at one point a person was moving a ladder and dropped it barely missing our daughters head. We said nothing but just stared in shock. The man who did it said nothing. No "sorry" or "that was a close one."Then he proceeded to check In with every single group except for ours. In the front are some house-made chocolates, t-shirts, and other merchandise. Behind that are workshop tables for parties and such. It seemed like those would be fun.
