On a busy day there are at least 3 people working in here helping and they have 2 registers so you don't ever really wait to long. Every time I walk by a See's Candies and peek in at the black and white old fashioned decorated decor, I think of grandmas and little old ladies. I hadn't been here in years, but thought I'd try it just to review it. (Yeah, right, it's certainly not because I'm chocolate addicted, no way) First of all they give you free samples. Did I mention that they were FREE SAMPLES. They gave us full size pieces of candy, and they were good. The lady who offered us the samples was very friendly. I chose three different candies; key lime truffle (with white chocolate covering), ginger something-or-other, and something they called Dark California Brittle. I was a big fan of all three! I'll certainly be by to get some more individual truffles whenever I'm at the mall. I may even pop in to get some boxes of mixed candies for gifts. These are sooo much better than the boxed chocolate candies you pick up at grocery stores and Target around Christmas time. I was surprised at how affordable they were, too. read more

See's is pretty awesome, they've always seemed to me to have kept their quality and standards up unlike some stores. I don't really do chocolate much, I have to actually crave it to want it, and that's rare; I don't understand coffee or chocolate lovers because of this. But usually every See's I've ever been to they will give you a free chocolate of the day upon entering the store, and then there's a big selection of chocolate combinations to choose from to either take a few in a bag or make your own box full. I love sees candies and whenever I go to valley plaza mall I definitely visit the store and buy something. But yesterday I had a very bad experience in the store. I visit the store with my 6 years old son and there was only one seller at store. She offered us vanilla chocolate sample and since I was allergic I couldn't take it. I apologized and take one for my son only. I noticed that she got a little mad and then I picked a can of chocolate and waited for her at the counter. She had other customer and took enough time to serve other customers. I waited for her almost 10-15 minutes. I waited long because I was trying to understand her situation being the only seller at the time. Once she finished with other customers. She told me that I have to wait some more so that she can check out the customer that she just helped. I was so embarrassed and found it so disrespectful. Even the customer she wanted to check out first was wondered why the seller was rude to me. It just felt like I did something wrong for which I am punished. I just left the store buying nothing. It was at Bakersfield valley plaza mall store on September 2nd, 2023 around 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm PST. I don't know her name, but I think you administration can find her. I request you to either don't put this lady at work again or teach her some manners to not keep the grudge if someone don't take the sample because they are allergic to some ingredients. I remember my momma taking us to this Valley Plaza location When I was a little girl and let me tell you alot has changed and I don't mean the price. The customer service is just not friendly they get the job of boxing and bagging chocolate bit they are not very friendly and it's too bad because not only is the chocolate and candy so expensive the customer service offered could just sway others to not come back. I spend 7$ dollars on 5 small pieces of chocolate and let me just tell you it some times isn't about the chocolate it's about the feelings u had the memories you have with the people who are no longer here. read more

I love See's Candy just like everyone with taste buds. My favorites are the dark chocolate covered raspberry butter creams. I could eat a whole pound of them by myself.
