As my boyfriend and I were browsing through their selection we decided to stop to take a picture at a mirror near one of their sections. I don't know if the employee knew how loud she was but we clearly heard her comment, "Every time people pass by that mirror they stop to take a picture. It's stupid. It's dumb." It dampened our moods completely. We didn't get to even finish looking at the front of the store. We put the item we had in our hand back in their place and left. Really saddened about the experience and the fact that we couldn't enjoy the rest of the store as we could see they had lots of variety and the prices seemed reasonable from what we did see. Here are some of the pictures we managed to take before leaving. Update: upon further review a lot of recent reviews seem to be about the same women with the same common factor. She only provides terrible atmosphere and service to people of color. Which is very disappointing to see that so many customers come excited to come and explore to only leave feeling worse due to something we can't change. Especially in this climate and day of age, it's saddening to see such hate being spread.

Went to see if they were interested in buying a console off of me, I'm not even mad about them…read morepassing on it, what bothered me though was the guy at the counter, Joey I believe, sounded so apathetic, didn't say hi when I walked in and honestly it was just bad customer service. Need someone a little happier and that will actually greet customers at the front. Seemed like he hated working there. The name is fitting, as most of the furnishings do not signify a specific decade. That's what makes this shopping experience stand out among the many antique stores in Bakersfield. You will find pieces that easily fit into just about any home, without drawing to much attention to themselves as individual pieces but rather sublimated into a warm, elegant aesthetic (unless you go TOO farmhouse-- then your home just looks like a Hobby Lobby). You will also find toys, books, kitchenware, collectibles, modern decor, homemade crafts, and plenty of surprises if you have time to peer into each vendor's booth. This has to be our favorite antique store downtown now. We randomly walked in just to look around…read moreand window shop, but we ended up walking out with 6 items haha! It is such a lovely store. Sooo much to look around and buy. There's also entrepreneurs selling their items like handmade candles and snacks. We also bought a gorgeous picnic basket for a pretty cheap price comparing to nearby antique stores ! This one was by far the best one with reasonable pricing. The lady was so sweet. She even took our items to the front while we continued looking so we wouldn't carry it all. Very lovely store, we will be coming back!

Nothing is priced and everything has 10 layers of dust. I picked up one thing and my hands were gray when I put it back. I think if he cleaned the items, he would have a better chance of selling more. There are items inside and outside and Jack was very friendly and personable. There is a great selection of various collectibles and I still had fun looking around nonetheless.
