My daughters and I have shopped here for years. Today I found a dress when I went to purchase it they told me I couldn't because it had been purchased online. I overheard an employee tell a customer "you can take off your mask" We were only in there about 5 minutes and were asked 3 times if we were looking for anything in particular. I used to shop here often when my daughter was younger or when we were invited to a birthday party. Their birthday parties are always fun for little ones, but they do lack the highly active staff involvement they used to have in order to keep the girls attention and fun level at its peak. Don't get me wrong, the staff was very attentive and danced to all the songs, but a bit more involvement would have made it feel like more fun. Either way, the staff were very attentive to the party. Always asking if we needed something, dancing along the girls, and just doing a good job The place is neat and stylish with all the latest styles for females. The staff is friendly and caring of your needs. They are full of suggestions if you need help finding that special item. Original review aug 2016- (2 stars) I frequent this boutique often, and my boyfriend regularly will come and buy myself or our daughter things from here as well. It only made sense for me to book my daughters 4th birthday party here. Although a little on the expensive side, it seemed to me like I got a lot for my dollar. The invites, the setup, cleanup all provided - and I was supposed to get a party planner to call me and go over all the details. Well I got a call that the invites would be ready - but never received a call from any party planner. Not to worry - I'm a type A and called to let them know of any changes/confirm my party several times just in case. They were super cool about my questions, and by paying a $50 fee I was able to bring in outside food and wine (which I asked for the okay ahead of time). On the day of the party, the room was adorable and my daughter was more than thrilled. We hired Elsa for $75 (for 75 minutes - amounts to her making $60 a hour - wayyyy more than I'm paid) but the girls loved her there and what the heck, it's my daughter's birthday. The setup was cute, all the party attendants (we had 2 party attendants helping in addition to Elsa) were patient and great with the kids. This all accounts for the 2 stars being given. If I hadn't received such tacky customer service from them (read below) it would most likely be a 4/5 star review from me. My issues arose with the customer service. When it came time to pay, including the deposit, I ended up dropping $450 to spoiled rotten (not including my cost of food that I brought in and everything else). As I was paying, the gal at the front rather rudely said "oh by the way you can also tip the girls in the party room"... Which was 1) tacky as hell and 2) totally put me on the spot. I didn't have any cash on me, so I had to grab $20 out of my DAUGHTER's birthday money. I gave it to her because she was the one suggesting I tip, to which she replied disdainfully "oh....I guess I'll split this up between them". Wow. First of all, I worked as a bartender for 8 years. Never ONCE did I recommend or mention that someone tip me. Secondly, if a party planner had ever actually CALLED me and let me know tipping was expected and that there would be three party helpers to tip, I wouldn't have ordered Elsa for $60 an hour so I could afford that added cost. Or....a mention of tipping would have been helpful on the website or small print as I signed my deposit form. Instead I was rudely put on the spot - and even when I did it wasn't appreciated. Lastly - I have a 12 year old and a 4 year old - I'm not a novice party planner. $450 is steep for 7 kids and 1 hr 15 minutes - but I figured it would be worth it, and in some ways, until this customer service mishap, it was. I've had paintball parties, pump it up parties, hired magicians - never once have I tipped after dropping large amounts of cash. NEVER Have I been suggested to tip by an establishment either. Doing the math, knowing Elsa was making $60 a damn hour - I figured since she was making almost twice what I make - that she was being paid pretty good. Even assuming the business takes a cut of that - let's say HALF - Elsa is still better paid than me at $30 an hour. I tried calling the business the day after to ask for the owner to discuss what I felt was an embarrassing and tacky situation. If I were the owner, I would want to know about this - especially since I have been a long time and consistent customer. No one answered, even though I called at 5:30 pm and they close at 7. It's the next day at 4 pm and I still have not gotten a call back. If the owner does decide to return my call and and I can give her my feedback, I will adjust this review accordingly. Almost all the moms of little girls at my daughters party were interested in hosting their kids' party here as well - I will definitely let them know my woes with the customer service end to hopefully spare them the same embarrassment. I would say save your money, spend less at another establishment that appreciates it's loyal customers and has class and tact. It was a darling and well done party - but customer service, including the decency to give me a call back, mean everything to me and it should be the backbone of a small local business. *updated portion - on October 7th, 2016 (4 stars) The owner called me personally today after having recently read my Yelp review. She (as I had assumed) had been unaware and was not notified of my previous attempts to contact her. She did not make excuses for her staff and promised to discuss the issues with her staff. She also offered to make it right with me by reimbursing me for a portion of the party (to which I declined). I appreciate the time and effort she put into calling me personally and feel I should fairly update my review to reflect her appropriate action. I will be back to shop in the future due to her taking steps to correct any misgivings I previously had. read more

I want to love this place, however every time I go in the girls who are working are just so rude. I've shopped at many other boutiques here in Bakersfield before, and this one is the worst. We booked a party last weekend for my 7 year old daughter. She wanted a spa party and it was a success!! The party hosts were awesome with the girls. Accommodating all of their needs and letting them get seconds on pizza and cupcakes. And the party room was decorated perfectly. And now I can shop there again! :) After spending over $200 there yesterday and I went back today and tried to exchange an outfit; I was told that all sales were final no exceptions. Bought a purse for myself here--loved it. Had my daughter's party here--the Rock Star Party. She had a lot of fun. Only complete, they were supposed to email me pictures of the event and never did, they were also supposed to include a list of presents given and by whom and didn't. When I went back to ask about it later at the event they had with Santa and Mrs. Clause (my girls had a lot of fun), they apologized and said they would sent them, but never did. They also never sent the Santa pics. So, while we were there, it was a blast, but the follow through, not so good. read more

Absolutely love this place! I follow them on Instagram but never have shopped there, So last week I decided I was going to go check them out because I needed an outfit for a bridal shower. OMG can you say AMAZING! all of the girls were so helpful picking out things they liked and had them ready for me to try on. Once I found the top I wanted to wear the steamed it and put it on a hanger for me. You can't find customer service like that anymore anywhere! This place has some really cute things as far as Bakersfield goes, probably stuff they get from the LA mart and mark up to make it seem elite, but I don't begrudge anyone a profit. But that's not the real problem here. I've been to this place on two occasions looking for a unique gift last minute. Both times I was there the teenage girls that work there seemed more interested in talking to their friends and posting on Facebook than doing their job helping customers. They charge a small fortune for their items so one would think they would at least have top notch customer service?? Not the case. If you like rude girls who have no idea how to work, then this is the place for you. It's sad because Bakersfield has so few boutiques for children. Booked my daughters party and it was a success! I had three party hosts who stayed engaged with the girls the entire time and my daughter and her friends had a blast. All the girls kept saying they wanted to have their party their too. Thank you to the SR party hosts who really did a great job with the girls. Only issues- my invitations weren't ordered, I had to call to find out where they were. They did print immediately once I called and picked up next day. Also I never received any call ahead of time to confirm or go over party guests/details. I did call the day of to make sure and let them know how many guests were coming so table could be set. BUT as you can see I still gave 5 stars for the overall experience because at the end of the day that is what counts. read more

They are well stocked with very nice items, but you can find the exact same items other places for less. I've been in the boutique a few times, most recently before Christmas, and found the young ladies who work there somewhat rude and more concerned with their looks, playing with their hair, and talking to each other than helping customers. Rented the place out for an hour and a half. We had 11 kids and paid $300 for the party. There were three young ladies who worked there who helped the whole time. Two of them were respectful and happy. But Simone was somewhat curt with the kids and looked irritated most the time. This was pretty much confirmed when I asked her if I could have a slice of pizza to which her response was, no. So after paying essentially $200/hour she refused to let me eat a $0.25 slice of left over Little Ceasars pizza. Absolutely unacceptable. read more

I think the store looks very nice and they carry a cute selection of clothing for ladies. The prices are okay, some things could be a little more reasonably priced. Besides that, here are the main 2 issues I have with the store: 1.) I liked, shared, and commented on one of their post, as required, to win a certificate but didn't win it. There was only one other person on that post, but she did not do all three things (like I did). So, after several days of not seeing a winner posted I messaged the store to see who won and got no reply. The whole thing seems FRAUDULENT. 2.) My cousin and I went to the store for one of their sales. When checking out, I noticed some items were damaged/ had makeup stains. I can understand discounting them and letting the customer know that's why their marked down, but this store did not that. The damaged items where included in with the sale items and did not have any markings, special tags, or any other indicator. And the cashier seemed more than happy to ring them up before I called it to her attention and let her know I didn't want any damaged items. Needless to say, I haven't been back since. FOR THE PRICES, I EXPECT QUALITY ITEMS WHETHER THEY'RE ON SALE OR NOT and BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

The absolute WORST retail experience ever!! I was really excited to find such a cute botique in the Rosedale area. I have a young daughter, so this looked like a perfect place for both of us. the best party I've ever had for one of my girls! it was the spa party for a dozen 6+ year olds..lots of spilled punch, and other messes to clean up. Yet staff remained positive, attentive and fun! Kudos, because I would have lost my mind! The karaoke portion was literally the most hilarious thing I'd ever seen, and the girls absolutely loved dressing up and sing to their favorite songs..the candy bar I purchased was somewhat of a waste, only because the girls were too busy having fun and doing other things to eat it! The party was not cheap, however I will definitely have another girlie event there, it was worth every penny! read more

I'm disgusted with this store, when I entered as a plus size woman to find an outfit for a gift, I got many daunting stares from workers, attitude when I asked sizing questions not to mention giggles. I've never been made to feel this awful in a LOCAL store. It would be nice to see some women of all shapes and sizes work in their store to maybe teach them something... a lesson in common curtesy, maybe even that size doesn't matter. but seeing the workers there I understand there's only one size that matters. - (size only goes to a large then cuts off) It makes me very sad that workers are permitted to act the way they did. I hope they take care of this. In the mean time, plus size women(3/4 of the population)- don't shop here unless you want to be made out to feel awful.
