Fast forward 30 years--my sister discovered that Peter Pan is now in Bakersfield. While visiting the 661 from my new home in the Bay Area, my sister and I stopped in to shop for our own children. The store has a variety of clothing to choose from. I was most interested in items for my four-month-old boy. I found a cute chunky cable-knit sweater, a coordinating hat, a striped onesie for Christmas, and several indestructible books (my son loves these). I think it is super important to shop local, so I was happy to support a business from my childhood. The two ladies working behind the counter were super kind and helpful. They also put up with my rambunctious nephew and engaged with him. When I'm in town, I will make shopping at Peter Pan a habit!

We needed costumes for our Knights of the Kingdom theme Harvest Fest at our church...I had to come…read moreback for my son's costume and was treated with grace and courtesy both times...there is a great selection of "to buy" costumes but since we don't dress up much we went the rental route and the fabric is quality. The costumes beautiful and authentic looking...the owner runs the place and was completely helpful from beginning to end...she sized my husband and son for their costumes from me just FaceTiming them and them standing back from the camera and standing straight...she is great and knows her stuff! I am a big fan of thrifting and secondhand stores for my baby clothes and sometimes toys/gear. It's a great way to save money. The location is really easy to find and since it's on the edge of the strip mall, I found quite a few close parking options. Walking in, the staff seemed to be in a pretty long conversation with some other guests about an item she was trying to sell that was vintage. I wandered around happily at my own pace since I wasn't looking for anything specific. They did come by and tell me about pricing on a special front rack being very low. There wasn't anything for me on that rack, just looking for different sizes and wear level, but it's nice you can still pick up some $1 items here if you're on a strict budget but just need clothes for your growing baby! I found a little more success in the main clothing area. There was an outfit set I bought that looked like new for about $5. I also found a brand new bag of swim diapers in my baby's size for a price better than target, so I grabbed those. I also noticed at check out there was some new in the box baby bottles in the size/brand I needed cheaper than target, so I grabbed those too. It was a fairly successful shopping trip and I'm happy to see there is a secondhand kids store in town. The only downside to me was the merchandising/organization were pretty poorly done in a good chunk of the store. The clothing was straightforward enough, but everything in the middle and south wall of the store really was chaotic and just kind of turned me off from wanting to look through anything in those sections. I did also ask what items they may need to buy specifically from people, and the answer was a bit generic and surprising. Either way, I am wishing them all the success and continued growth! This is definitely a place worth checking out if you have young kids, toddlers, or babies and want to save some money.

Instead, I found the most beautiful space filled with gorgeous full wig. You can really tell they care about helping each person feel confident and comfortable. Although I didn't get a wig this time, I did leave with a beautiful necklace and a body lotion and body butter that smell amazing.

Upon walking in they greet you and make you feel right at home in their cozy little shop! They were both so helpful and so personable which is so nice and so rare these days! The prices for the quality of their clothing is fantastic! They sale the most beautiful hats that are hand painted by a local painter and they are not only unique but so stylish! Today I bought a hat and the cutest little scarf/vest that is convertible into so many ways!! I would definitely come back to this little shop just based on the customer service alone! Thank you ladies for making us feel so great when visiting your shop!

Had some dresses put on hold and came on in to try them on, so very attentive! The prices are up there, but that's typical for a Bakersfield boutique. I will be back!
