I was super excited when I arrived. I started to look around and the owner, Jack, found me and said to yell if I had a question about pricing. Nothing is priced and everything has 10 layers of dust. I picked up one thing and my hands were gray when I put it back. I think if he cleaned the items, he would have a better chance of selling more. I had so much fun at Glamtic! It took at least an hour to see all of the inventory. The owners are super friendly and very knowledgeable about everything there. A word to the wise . . . Don't intend to go there and try to haggle on prices. A lot of what is there is not new and may not have a price tag on it but Jack knows the price of everything! Well this deserves 1 star...... I have been searching for a mirror for our wedding and came across one on their Facebook page so, I inquired and requested a price. I received a response at 4:18am if I was interested in purchasing and then a follow up at 7:35am which, first off I was asleep at 4am and not glued to my phone and or Facebook at that time. I received another message right after from them stating to not ghost them and shop somewhere else. **UPDATE** Jack the douchbag left my wonderful review a "compliment"! He called me a POS because "after all this time I'm still upset about getting banned" Really guy?! I don't know what planet this guy is from, but business owners do not treat PAYING CUSTOMERS this way! I love thrifting and antique shopping so I went ASAP. I ended up finding exactly what I needed, an antique door I wanted to make into a headboard. Unfortunately I realized I would need 2 alike doors to realize my vision. I asked Jack if he could hold the door and he informed me of his $10 deposit. I let him know I was going to check a few more places to see if I could either find an exact duplicate of the door he had at his shop or 2 other matching doors. I told him I'd let him know either way. I ended up finding 2 exactly alike doors already painted and welded together for $10 more than Jack was asking. I called Jack and informed him of my awesome find and he seemed upset. I, never wanting to piss someone off I'm definitely planning on continuing business with, told him to keep my $10 deposit since I wouldn't be taking home the door. Jack was clearly pissed and although I couldn't wrap my head around why, I apologized...profusely. He continued to rip into me about being a bad customer. I was flabbergasted! Fast forward a couple years and I see a nice neon bar sign that I am severely (lol) interested in. I ask in the comments how much for the sign. Jack (I'm assuming) informs me it's $150! I'm completely taken aback and don't even have time to register the audacity of the price before he comments again with, "would you like to come and see it?" By this time I was trying to tread lightly with my comment and let him know that the price was a little steep for my liking. I informed him that it was a little more than I was looking to spend at this time and thanked for his quick response. Another year or so and I'm back on his Facebook page. This time I spotted some live edge wood that would have been great on a project I was working on. Instead of asking a price I decided to head to the shop and look around. He'd already sold the piece I wanted so as I was window shopping I found another bar sign. This one wasn't neon so I figured it couldn't be as expensive as the last one...boy was I wrong! He wanted $150 for a plain bar sign! I left the shop. Awhile later a coworker was asking for some advice on a local thrift type place with great, unique antiques. I pulled up Glamtic and quickly realized I had been halfassed blocked! I couldn't post a comment on anything (actually there was no comment option for me at all) and then couldn't remember the last time I'd actually seen a post from them. I looked around the page and could see they continued to regularly post content and after checking all of my settings realized I must have been blocked from seeing their posts. I am thoroughly confused by the horrible customer service I was continually given by Jack at his establishment. After several tries I continued to go and give him my business, guided my coworkers and friends to his shop when I was asked of places I go and spoke highly of Glamtic. It has been a year since I've stepped foot in his place and I don't feel like I've missed out at all. I honestly think he's missed out on my purchases and those people that I have stirred away from him. I've given several other, more friendly and customer service oriented places for my friends to frequent. I hope this review helps every single person that reads it to STAY AWAY FROM GLAMTIC!!!! Just as I found a really nice potting bench, I was walking towards Jack, the owner, to inquire about the price. I overheard him telling another customer that he was so annoyed by people that are slamming him on social media because he was flying a Confederate flag. He said this with an exaggerated southern accent. I grew up in the south so I know a southern accent. He raised his voice, though the customers weren't signing in ASL and seemed to be able to hear him, and stated " the Confederate flag is the same as the American Flag". I recently inquired about the height of an item they had posted on Facebook , they responded with the height and I thanked them . They then asked me if I wanted to buy it. I said no thank you and then they asked me why I had asked about the height? I told them I was curious and that if I wanted to buy it I would have said so. Then they told me in the future to only ask questions during their one day a week that they are open , Saturday 10-3 . I suggested they might want to post measurements and price when posting and item on Facebook so that they wouldn't have to answer questions during the week. This is what they said next FYI one u haven't even liked our page. Two we don't need a dollar to survive. We need customers thst realize how hard we work for them. Obviously you are not one. Since u can't handled being told to only ask questions on our one day a week business. We post hundreds of things a week. To take the time measuring and putting prices we would never get anything accomplished so u as a customer has to do something besides sit at home and scroll. Reached out on their public Facebook post under a photo of a piece of furniture to inquire about the price of an item, price was advised. Later that morning received a Facebook message asking if I was going to buy the item, I didn't respond instantly and 20m later they sent a ?. I said "no thank you" and was questioned why...the guys a jerk! Harassed me about not buying the item and proceeded to tell me I must not have enough money to really pay for it. I will NEVER step foot in there and I will spread this info like wildfire in hopes no one else will either, should never treat people that way. This business is an absolute joke. The owners are rude, condescending, and harassing. I asked the price on an item on their Facebook page, got a reply from the owner stating the price. I told him no thanks I will pass the next thing I know he's harassing me in the comments asking me, what I would pay I told him $50 he said that's not enough. I said no problem thanks for your time. I figured that would be the end of the conversation but no, the next morning he started harassing me through private messenger after I told him no thank you again he said that I was harassing him and that I was no longer allowed to shop at his store. Well this is my 3 time here and yes there is a lot of stuff no pricing, but you know the owners are so nice they answer all questions, know all pricing and you can find things that u do as a Pinterest project to just have at home. My 4 yr old loves to come and go inside to see what new cars they have and to say hi to there dog. I bought the cutest dresser to use by my front door price was reasonable. Completely agree with all of the commenta below. This week I was harrassed at 4am several times from the husband/owner via text and on IG. I will provide screenshots in comment session. I want everyone to know that his wife is the only reason why I made purchases in the past. Last weekend, my bf picked up the 4th furniture piece I purchased. During this time my bf and I were discussing the tri color piece. She suggested I put a deposit to secure first pick and I could go see it once it was completed. She informed us that if I didnt like the piece I would get full refund of the $50 deposit. I just wasnt clear on his vision with it but I like the detail on the piece. Well come a few days later of him messaging me and requesting for me to pick up the item. I work 10hr days yet he demanded an immediate reply even if it was at 4-5am. At one point he threatened me and said I had until 10am or my deposit would be sent back. I have yet to receive my deposit. I have requested it and made it clear I will never set foot in his place. He has refused to return my deposit telling me I have to go in person tomorrow. I zelled his wife the deposit. I explained all of this to him yet he continued to be completely rude, inappropiate, unprofessional, egotistical and just plain wrong. He gas lighted me by turning it all on me claiming I caused all of this and trying to make me think I was in the wrong. I have spend over $1000 on furniture pieces. I rarely leave reviews. I would hate for anyone else to go through this- Several days of harrassing messages. He seriously has some major issues. I feel bad for his wife. She is so nice and lovely. My first visit will be my last! I was looking around at what is disorganized chaos, or better yet a filthy junk yard. I saw a wood crate I thought I would ask for a price on. I moved it close to the pac man arcade game so I could show my boyfriend and ask the woman who worked there what the price was. She took a picture and texted someone. I continued to look around, my boyfriend asked for a price on some beer tap handles. The guy who worked there told him the price and my boyfriend said, would you take $150 for them. The man who worked there said no. I was already outside and my boyfriend joined me. We decided not to purchase anything and walked to our car. The man who worked there followed us to the car and started telling us we were rude and not to come back. We asked what was going on. He said we moved a crate and we are not allowed back. I was in total shock. He was in my boyfriends face so my boyfriend got out of the car and told him not to get in his personal space. Here's my opinion of this business. I follow them or "Like" them on Facebook, they post pictures of product & if you comment they usually respond right away. I inquired about a piece & the correspondence followed, I asked for measurements & was given the info right away. I asked if they we're open today being Sunday & they said no but we can meet you. I said great! (They offered, I did not ask) So we coordinated a time 11:30am, I have never been to this business & was unaware of the exact whereabouts. I was coming from Rosedale hwy. (having breakfast with a friend at J&M's Cafe) Super busy & traffic was pretty bad, but we we're on the way. I called to say this because we obviously were running behind 10min.....and I was greeted with rudeness over the call. The man on the phone was not pleasant, he kept saying he had to come on his day off, well excuse me but you are the one that offered to meet on your so called day off...I didn't ask you to do that. We literally were 5-10minutes away & he wasn't going to wait. That's cool, I was going to your place of business to purchase a piece of recycled furniture from you, that you offered to come to on a "Closed" day & apparently your "only day off". So you see you allowed me to rethink my purchase & your rude attitude.... "NO THANK YOU", I'd rather take my business else where, unfollow & nonsupport your local business. They have a lot of great merchandise that you can sort of pick through (which I enjoy). They were very friendly, professional, and helped me bring my items to my car. My only setback in the transaction was that the layout of the store was so "nook and cranny" I had a hard time finding a salesperson...however, they ended up being in the back area refinishing some furniture, which I though was cool!! I was a little nervous to come here because I've seen how the owner speaks to his customers on facebook-yikes. But I was looking for something different and saw a cool piece on their page so I decided to come in. A young girl helped me and was very sweet. Overall I was there about 10 minutes and everything went smoothly while I was there. When I got home I saw that the base of the mirror to the vanity I bought had been cracked when it was removed by one of the employees. It was really uncool of them to not mention it when they did it. I was near them but not watching them. I should have been. I didn't contact the shop because I've seen how they respond to unhappy customers and didn't really feel like fighting over something I could figure out how to fix myself. Even though I shouldn't have to. Also, the paint job that they did was so horrible. They took a beautiful old vanity and painted it this mauvey color and then swiped it with blue to "antique" it. Anyone that knows how to properly antique things knows this is a cheap ugly way to do it. That and they ignored spots they didn't think people would immediately see like underneath where you sit in the vanity, or behind the legs..but you should still paint those areas lol. Thankfully I was already planning on stripping that ugly paint job and redoing it. I ended up loving how it turned out but it wasn't cheap even though it was water damaged, painted horribly and broken. Looking back I should have passed on it but now that it's in my daughters room and it looks awesome I don't regret it. I probably wouldn't come here again though, there are much more clean and friendly places in town to get old furniture. Pros- they have a lot of cool items and if you're like me and like to rummage this is a fun place to check out Cons- a lot of their items are sitting outside so they have water and sun damage, bugs, and a ton of dirt on and inside them. Be prepared to clean your pieces well before bringing them into your home. None of their items are marked which seems a little fishy to me because I've heard people get a lot of different prices quoted to them based on the day, time or person they asked.
