As a result, she loves school and has become so much more confident. She even likes PE now which has always been difficult for her. She has participated in music recitals and school plays and she is very proud of being a part of these performances. In the past it has been difficult for her navigate through having more than one friend. She has made so many friends at Frostig and has the support she needs when she doesn't know what to do. The social skills program gives her a space to ask questions and gain understanding. People with autism often do want to understand things they just aren't able to on their own. I was on the waitlist and when the time came it is a big packet but in all honesty I feel that the more they ask the safer my son will be. My son started at 18 mths and I was very nervous because I was not sure how he was going to be treated. However, it is so nice and relieving to see how they ALL are with him. I went to so many schools and I did not like them but here I am so grateful! I highly recommend this school and care facility. Have another baby coming and when that time comes I hope I will be able to put my baby there when needed. They also do very cute things when holidays come around. They "customize" the program to the child and use a lot of un-scientifically sound programs. Still, we were committed or perhaps desperate to help our child. After all the time and effort, I think what happened is that she just got older, and they called this progress. I don't think it was worth the time and especially the money. Most of the "clinicians" are young college graduates and they are friendly and follow the programs well. They are good people, but I voiced my opinion that I didn't think the program was being effective and wanted to make sure we were on the right track. I was repeatedly told that it was a part of the program and that we'd "see" all the work done as it begins to translate outside of their program at the very end of the program. At the end of the program, I feel like they just "finished" the program because they couldn't justify taking any more of our money and time. At the end we still have major behavior problems and poor grades, etc.

I is located on Vejar road which is the road right before the VONS supermarket. You can also get to Vejar Rd via Pierre Rd. It is the only elementary school that you can attend in which Elementary, Middle, and High School are all in walking distance.
